Simple way is to either signup (if you have a school .edu address, or pay fee) for Dreamspark. But you will be limited to what you can install on your device anything that requires interlop unlock you can't install on device. I am not as active in the community scene as I use to but I suggest checking out http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=605

If it is free ware then you would not need to register it. If you do not have the install for this software do a search on the forums or on google to download it.

This is not the latest version, I guessed. Please try this out. Hope it will work for you as it has for me. Sorry can't upload it to forum, I have to upload to megaupload.
Foxit Reader v1.2.rar
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R70SBT8K
Do you try it?
"Instructions on Key Registration
Step 1: Press Menu > select Register.
Step 2: Send your device ID to [email protected] to get your License code, enter your code number and press OK. Please note that each device has only one ID, and the ID varies on different devices.
Step 3: To check your registration, press Menu > select Register to see whether the message "Registration is successful!" is shown on your screen."
About v.1.2- it's lastest version for sp.

No need to be nasty. I have run into senior members before that just did not have any luck finding what they were searching for.
In my line of work it does not matter who you are trying to help you start with the basics. If you ever spent time helping out customers on a daily basis you might just understand why I started there. It appears to me you might not have searched hard enough if you still can not find what you are looking for. I was going to make a cab from a version I have and upload it but after that comment I guess I won't. Good luck finding what ever it is you are looking for.
*edit*
I decided to go ahead and add the attachment to this post after all, guess I had a change of heart. Oh and you might watch your tone with others when asking for help with something.
i was insulted by your comment. i already stated that it was a freeware that still needed to be registred, yet you tried to correct me like i was wrong. and as a senior member, people should already know to use a search bar
thanks for the cab though

Help Needed - I'm desperate!!!!

Hello,
I desperately need some help. So please, please can somebody rescue me....
My girlfriend bought a HTC Touch Dual from ebay which was locked to the Orange Network in the UK. I tried to unlock the phone for her so she could use her Vodafone SIM and have made a right mess! I used an eight-step process on one of the threads on this forum and got completley lost.
Firstly, I don't really know what I'm doing, and have no idea what a 'radio', 'rom', etc is. In fact, in reading these forums I realise how out of my depth I am.
Would somebody be able to help me out. Not necesarily with unlocking, but just getting the unit back to working order - i.e. so the cameras work, the sound works, the screen responds to my taps, the wireless card works, etc...
Please remember I know nothing about these machines, so you will need to use VERY simple explanation!!
Thank you in advance,
Gary
My best advice is, try and flash a rom on the device for the device(learn how to first, you don't need to know all the details involved just the process, and what to download), then buy a cheap unlocking solution online.
I would suggest this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500021.
Here is how to flash a rom on to an HTC device: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Flashing Guide
Thank you for your help...
I'll take a look at your links.
Still don't know what a 'radio' or a 'ROM' is! Any clues welcome...
Thanks again - I appreciate it

I have had a look at the links and am completely lost.
Please don't underestimate my lack of mobile I.T. skills - I really don't know what I'm doing!
Can anyone simply tell me what to do, step-by-step, without any jargon, to get a workable handheld?
Mabe this will set the scene... Imagine you need to explain it to an 80 year old Grandmother...
Thanks again

Quick yes or no Question.

Hello everyone. I'm thinking on buying HTC magic, i've been reading a bit about the Hacking to run new roms. My only objective was to run apps, or unoficial apps. Do i need to hack the HTC in order to run them ? I couldnt find awser of this question i hope someone can help Thank you,
Regards
A) Your question really doesn't make sense.
B) This is the HTC Hero forums, not the HTC Sapphire (Magic) forums.

well first of all, you posted in the hero section.
about your questions, hacking is too much of a big word. better say rooting.
depends on the applications you want to install. majority of them you wont need to root your phone for them to run. there is an option to enable 3rd party applications in the menu itself. however, some applications do require rooting of the phone, for example wifi teetering, bluetooth sharing...
oh sorry i made mistake :\ but i think it would be the same.
i'll try formulate. I wish to download a pack of apps from the internet. I do not know if they are signed or not (not even know if android has that protection as windows mobile has ) . My question was if i can install those apps on the android oficial OS from HTC.
I Hope it was better formulated the question. Thanks again!
For example. i'm downloading this collection of apps: h**p://isohunt.com/torrent_details/148986681/android?tab=summary
Will i need to root or it isnt necessary? What kind of apps need rooting? Or this kind i do not have to worry about.
Thanks =)

from the list you quoted, you dont have to root your phone for the vast majority of them. rooting is required to access proteccted files of the system from your phone
alright excelent. Thank you for your kind help =) I was becoming interested on the iphone but after i saw android, kind of blocked my eyes. the system is great hehe. Thank you again =)
But downloading pirated apps is a good way to get your phone blacklisted & banned from the Android Market.

oh how is this detectable so far? why are they banning people from it? wont they loose money that way? If i dont root my phone, most apps i have on this list will work, in that way i wont get blacklisted? Thanks

Try the Simple Root Guide. The OP and I in that thread have been very helpful. I think we have yet to come across someone we couldn't help.

Testing apps on a phone

Hi all apologies if this doesnt belong here - i dont post much.
But i had a question in relation to testing an app im developing on a real phone as opposed to the emulator on PC.
I'm really hoping u dont have to register as a developer before u can actually test the app ?
I know the phone needs developer unlocking but surely they should allow testing first - who know when i'll need/want to put the app on the marketplace.
Thx

You need to be registered and have your identity verified before you can unlock your phone for development use. Very annoying for students who don't have their identities verified until after they submit an app for certification.

It's very easy to get by this problem... Submit a blank WM 6.5 application. It will get denied and you will get verified.
So there is now way to deploy tools to your own phone without paying 99$ if you are not a student?
that has always existed... you need to have an @edu account registered MS under the DreamSpark program, which only your school/university can do i believe (as it requires verification, which i didn't bother with).
Yeah ok, i´m no student and a dont want to pay to build some apps form my own phone...

They didn't do it to stop that, they did it to slow piracy, that combined with the 10 sideloaded app limit does put a dis-incentive to abusing this method.
Also if an app is good enough for you, perhaps it'd do well as a free or paid app on the marketplace.
