RIL error 80004001

i am using tstril, i am trying to call Ril_GetCellTowerInfo(ghril) , i am getting an error message 80004001! which mean : Not implemented! what is the solution? Please reply...

I guess the 'solution' could be to accept the fact that the call has not been implemented. Either the modem doesn't/can't give it to the RIL layer, or people that built the RIL layer lack the information on how to properly ask the modem, they just didn't get to it yet, or they have deemed it not be a priority.

for you Mr. oiram, i think you need the structure of the cell tower info which is like the structure of the rilmessage or irladdress.

I wouldn't put it past HTC not to have implemented this. Just look at faxing.
Personally, I think the reason RIL was never officially released to developers is that the majority of OEMs couldn't spare the development time to implement it to cover their entire feature set. MS would rather have more devices released in the field than hold some back because they didn't implement a standard interface fully. So MS compromised and allowed RIL to only be partially implemented, just enough to get the basic functionality.

Ofcourse I was referring to the short-term solution. The long-term solution, however, may take disassembly of some of TI's GSM/GPRS modem code, which will not be an easy task.

ok but what are the procedures and what is that task, did you start anything of this kind so i can have something in hand to start from or i have to do my own..

Oiram it that challenge you are talking about fruitfull, i don;t think so, it's been 3 monthes working on that layer "u know which one" and still this error in front of me... it is monopooly man by the manufacturer all we have to do is to build a new telephony application or a layer and pull off that one in use everywhere.
but the thing is i need a base to start from and i need some investment, why don't we work together all of us and start sharing ideas and stop this challenge between us online and in front of eveybody...

I can play the ringtones on my WM Player, My Alarm works, System Notification noises work but when I receive a SMS or phone call NO SOUND

which version OS are you using

Its in the sig.
I assume you have gone to sound and notifications, notifications tab and selected new sms or voice call and then made sure a sound is selected and that the appropriate tick boxes are ticked... and that the tones you want are the right type of file and placed in the right folders?

It plays when I press the play button, but when I received a call or SMS, NO SOUND

I agree the title is going to get peoples backs up considering its only a few sounds which do not work.
Do the sms files actually play manually in media player , are they corrupted?
Try selecting no sounds ok you way back out and then turn them all back on. (might reset any duff reg entries)
Failing that a hard reset will probably be quickest way to sort it?

Well to start with you can tell us what you have installed and have you chnaged any reg keys???
If you dont give information how the heck do you what help.

I did search, and if you do a search and come up with the answer I'll be f***king surprise
Secondly I did give you all the info, my signature tells you what phone and OS im using, I posted my registry file that I thought was useful and I told you what software I'm running. and said if you need more pls ask

Yeah many people who could help have become hardened to the "Pls Help" posts.
If you search for a particular problem (BTW Use the Google search as well on this forum) and can't find any answers then it's most probable that the problem is just peculiar to yourself.
Have you done a hard reset and do you still have the problem on a 'clean' install?

Well for starters you can quit with the triple posting of threads for the same problem... and then a better subject to the thread... And then smaller letters... If you dont recieve a lot of replies from ones with the right titles its because no one has your answer, as its more than likely 3rd party software causing your issue, this is why the hard reset corrected your problem... be more descriptive, im sure you have more than that piece of junk wisbar advance installed on your device.. If you want answers it helps to know everything, ALL software installed, etc....

A noob here. Please be patient and just look trough my simple request.
I've got no clue on what spl, unsigned, signed, etc. word means.
I'm getting the diamond touch and wants it running as smooth as possible, but there are tons of different updates here which all says, do this spl, dont use unsigned, etc. So many different technical words that i have no clue on.
Is there a thread with some short explanations?
I'm not stupid so i should be able to read my way trough it and understand it. I just really want a fair chance of getting an update that suits my phone perfectly.

If you're happy with your device's performance then you don't really need to worry about what any of these things means

I Want To Try Flashing To Boost Myself....Need Help!

I want to try flashing this phone to Boost myself. I've had it on Verizon Prepay and Page Plus. I paid to have it flashed to them so now I want to try to flash it myself since I have a Boost phone I can use as a donor. The only problem is I have no idea what the hell to do:laugh:
I have all the "free" versions of flashing software and a guide to flash to Boost but I know this phone is difficult to flash because its hard to get the 3G keys to stick so I'm sure the guide won't cover everything. Anyway, if someone would like to help me out I would be eternally grateful and can donate a little if need be. PM me to get my Email add. or text if you would rather do it that way.

You're asking about something that few people need to do, much less know how to do. I was looking into a similar thing recently and I know that it is possible, but not easy and not for someone unfamiliar to flashing and whatnot. Not saying you, just saying. I would start here:

I am familiar with a few of these but my main problem is that this phone has some kind of lock on it keeping you from setting " keys " and the password for the keys when you try to get your data going. Its really different than any I've seen so far. Thank you for replying to my quest and giving me the links. If you or any one you know that might have some insight you are willing to share about what I mentioned I would really appreciate it.

Did you have any luck with this? I'm trying to do that same thing, I'm exactly where you're at minus the guide to flash to Boost. I have a guide for the Evo 4G but not this phone.
