Yes i know its only fast because hardly anyone is using it other than Evo lte and Gnex owners, but still its nice to finally get some decent data speeds... wats funny is that our U-verse at home is one third as fast as this...

I hate you lol hows the connection strength? Like does it disconnect alot?
How does lte work? Is it like wimax, based off of a wifi sort of function? Or is it a stable connection like 3g?

Status bar says 3g, test says lte?

because the screenshot was taken after i drove out of the LTE coverage area. i actually have tests of me sitting in a parking lot with those similarly dismal LTE speeds.
eshingsi still
merci pour le partage!
This was my best one in San Antonio so far. I took one this morning and got about 10mbps or so.

Lol, the connection strength isn't too shaby... It does disconnect often but that is because number one, the coverage is still somewhat spotty and two this phone has that "best connection" thing where it automatically picks the best coverage spectrum. So when i'm at home it always wants to pick my wifi since it's the strongest signal... the pic was actually taken while driving which was even more impressive... i wish there was a way to manually enable LTE like Wimax because sometimes you're in an area where u know there is 4g coverage cuz u got it b4 but the phone may not be scanning when u happen to drive thru that area. But once it is more widely deployed it will be like 3g where u can get it everywhere and provide a stable connection.

LTE is the next step 4th generation in wireless radio data transmission(although none of the carriers are actually providing true 4g speeds yet, the capacity is there)... unlike wimax it doesn't have a completely separate antenna that has to be manually switched on and off... its a different radio frequency but runs off of the same antenna as your standard 3g if im not mistaken... eHRPD tells the phone when to switch from 3g(CDMA) to LTE... as stated above once the deployment is widespread it will be a stable connection just like 3g... but thats years at minimum b4 we see that kind of coverage...

I just got to try my i747 in an att 4G Lte area(San Diego) and I had speeds over 50mb/s! Can't imagine what speeds Lte advanced will bring us.

This is in duncanville and cedar hill Texas where I live, the top is my home internet and the bottom is where I was in a bad signal 3g area
Lol you all suck! I'm in the salt lake city area and almost feel like moving to het into an lte area. I didn't see my city area I'm the planned lte areas right now... but of course I still had to have the s3

Don't waste your time moving lol. I live in Atlanta and its so spotty we might as well not have it. I don't get it at home or work. A few spots as you drive come on but what good is that? Quite disappointing really. However when i did get it and stopped, i got a 35meg test speed.
In Joliet, IN for business and I'm getting between 17 and 20 down and 4 to 6 up. Not bad considering I'm not getting anything in North Dallas where I live even though the Sprint Coverage map has me completely covered in LTE.....Sprint Coverage map sucks to be honest.
I have yet to see 4g LTE in my status bar and I live in SF area. Is there a toggle bar somewhere or in the settings area? I'm using blazer ROM
Thanks
I got 19.19 MPS on wifi in the house.
I got 5.94 MPS on H+ with signal
booster on In the house.
Without signal booster on I get 0.16 MPS
witch is barely enough to run the test.
I got 19.16 MPS outside on H+.
Thank God for T-mobile giving out free signal
boosters. I can't even make a call from my house
without it.

Dont think he's talking about an app if tmobile gives it to you. You get that from google and they don't do anything for real.

The signal booster is a device that amplifies the signal (sorta like a Wi-Fi router but with a wireless antenna too). You can order one through customer care if your account qualifies.

LTE is super spotty where I live and really inconsistent. In my state capitol I get LTE and it's around 2mbs. I alternate between 3g/LTE from block to block with 100% signal strength on stock rom. In some hicktown with a population of 1,000 people LTE gets 20-30mb/s. Regarding Sprint, you are lucky to get LTE at all, I'd be happy.
ATT HSDPA+ gets 1-3mb/s everywhere in my state. I'll be changing soon.
Hey guys, just a wisdom about lte.
I get 1 bar of LTE inside my house, 2-3 bar of HSPDA and 4 bars of 2G. Does anyone know if tmobile will continue to add towers to the area even though my area has lte?
1 bar of lte is still faster then HSPDA.. Idk why I get 0-1bar of lte although I get full bar edge.

Tmobile will definitely be expanding LTE coverage. As to when and where, only they know. When hspa+ first came to my area, I noticed an increase in signal every few months. I'm sure they will work on just getting LTE to all major cities before they work on increasing coverage.

Alright..Kinda sucks to keep switching between lte and 3g and 2g.. I noticed even on only 2g/3g, the network switches a lot more compared to my old phone galaxy nexus.

Hi, I'm here in Williamsburg, with updated everything (PRL, software, firmware, modem, etc) on a rooted stock MD4 ROM. And when I turn on my 4g LTE radio, because I have pretty decent coverage here in the burg, I usually get speeds of about 90-200 kbps. Since the new update of speed test, it doesn't even ping at all because of how slow it is. When LTE first reached Williamsburg I had a solid 16-24 Mbps in certain areas. Multiple people tell me its the amount of people that is throttling it but that I don't think that is logical since 3g is faster. Any ideas? Anything I'm doing wrong?

Are they working on the Network in your area ?
Well every LTE site is technically still being "worked on" but the base LTE has been up for a while.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Most be Network issue. Happened to me, I was able to connect to LTE, but no data or slower than 3g. I'm running Slim, so I just turned off LTE. It lasts for over a week. And I'm really far away from you, so yes must be Network issue.
