Playback. I can't get any hardware codecs to work. But software codecs work like a charm. Only problem is..there's really no apps that will play urls with software codecs...none that I have tried.
Each time I try to play a youtube video I get that this video is unplayable error

Hey guys, I sent my girlfriend a 1080p video via dropbox, (she has my old epic) and after downloading it to the sd card it couldn't play the video. Does the Epic just not play things past 720p?

Try mx player it could just be the file type of the video

If mx doesn't work, try mobo player

Yea I was thinking MX player as well. I'll try it, if that doesn't work I'll just record in 720p instead and see if that helps

I having a problem with the playback of videos on JB. I can take videos using the stock app but they will not playback through the stock player and using MX player they lag or stutter on playback.
I've tried switching from external to internal SD to see if that's the problem but the issue is the same.
Any suggestions? Would a reflash of the whole JB update fix it?
Bump. Anyone?

Hi...would like to know what resolution does youtube app play when hd is on. Plus is there a way to force the app to play 1080p videos when available.

You won't find any difference between 720p and 1080p due to the resolution on this beast.
Default I think uses 480p.
You can download hacked youtube that can play 720p.

I have tested 55000 bitrate full hd video footage directly from my canon dslr on my Galaxy Grand i9082 and it plays flawlessly even in stock video player as well

Some mkv movies require a special type of codec to give audio output (Not every)
Most stock video players don't have it
It earlier used to be in MX player

Your only hope is mx player pro....(It has h/w accelearation and s/w acceleration options). May be hd videos will work.
I dont understand why ppl try to play full hd 1920*1080p videos on a 800*480p display ... which is about 4times smaller resolution .. whats the point of playing a full hd video when the display reso is soo small ... cnt even enjoy the video with its full glory.
Totally pointless
