Is anyone else not able to send or receive MMS messages? My text works fine. Started sunday or Monday. I've wiped, reinstalled, tried a different ROM, all to no avail. Wondering if its a VM thing. Thanks.

I'm experiencing similar problems. I'm using a Cricket One V running both stock and custom tons. No mms on any of them and It's driving me crazy. I've searched the threads, tried clearing cache, factory resets, and attempted a file replacement with no luck. I'm a semi-noob and would appreciate any tips, hints, or instructions. It sucks only being able to send sms messages

Not sure if this will help you. It is something to do with MSL.

Thanks ckpv5 for the link it looks like it might help. I'll try it tomorrow and tell you if it helped.

So, I have found after wiping and reinstalling the different JB ROMs and kernels, that most of the time MMS will work a few times, but will stop working pretty quick. I was running JMZ one v with the CM9 kernel and it seemed to work fine. That was the only kernel, however, that would let me use WiFi. Any ideas why my MMS would work for a short time on JB ROMs and then quit? Until this problem started there was no problem. Anyways, thanks for everything.

MMS fix
Need to slightly adjust your APN settings for the fact you are now using JB instead of ICS
http***://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Android-Devices-Samsung-HTC-Sony/HTC-One-X-Manual-APN-Settings-Solution-Found/m-p/225729/highlight/true#M5216 << remove ***
has the fixed settings for O2 but the only real difference is the APN type is now * only
maybe a possible fix?
So what I did when I had this problem, after putting a new rom on my phone was going in to settings>mobile network>access point names. I then went to menu and "New APN" I looked up my service providers APN and put in the info I was given from my service providers website and it worked
I have the HTC One V Primo U and I use Koodo as a service provider
my phone is a GSM and I'm using the mySENSE-v RC3.5 rom with titanium-kiss-usb kernal

Ican send but not receive haven't gotten any help either. Cm7
sent from dinc
Backup everything and do a full wipe and re-flash.
Only thing I can recommend besides getting a better ROM.
clockwork 3.0.0.5 only has options for a factory reset and cache wipe. I'm scared.....plz help

There are tons of threads on xda of mms not working on custom roms. Normally if its not working its an apn issue. I've even posted instructions on this last week on another thread. Search around and you might find it. I'd link to it but I'm not at my PC. Also keep in mind mms doesn't work over wifi if you have that on turn it off and see if it works then.

The rom I'm currently using IncredibilyReengineered only sends MMS with the wifi turned off. Maybe you could try turning wifi off before sending the mms and see if that works. Just a thought. Usually the phone does this automatically, switching to 3G for MMS, but for whatever reason you have to manually turn wifi off to get it to work, at least you do on IncrediblyReengineered.

I'm running CM7 RC2 right now and I can't send or receive MMS messages unless I turn OFF wifi and then turn ON 3G... not too bad since its mostly text. Let me know how it works out for you.
ADR6300 CM7 RC2
Yea I can send on wifi I meant but can only receive on 3G ... (must turn off wifi cuz it always overrides 3G)
ADR6300 CM7 RC2
I read this here.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910461
I had mms issues on even the stock rom before I rooted. It didnt matter if I had wifi on or off. The only rom that has ever worked 100% of the time was the cm7 nightlies.

On most ROM's MMS will not send or receive when WiFi is on and connected. Sometimes it switches automatically to 3G like it should but more often it fails If you see it did not send then leave WiFi on and toggle Mobile Network. It will send just about immediately.
I just keep the Mobile widget on my home screen for that rare occasion that I am on WiFi and send an MMS.
Text is fine because that goes over the voice network
its not an issue of wifi because i don't ever use it. its always off. as i mentioned in my opening statements the APN fix DID NOT work. will be trying the ROM manager fix shortly.
edit. the fix in the mentioned link has nothing to do with the dinc. also the cited fix is not in the ROM manager downloads section.

Can you elaborate?

the issue stems from backing up all data with titanium and restoring old information on a new ROM. i did a factory wipe and reflashed cyanogen 6.1 and everything works fine as long as i don't restore data.

Ever since I rooted my droid incredible I have had a continuous problem with receiving and sending txt messages. Sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't. I am wondering if it is a ROM problem or a phone problem. I was wondering if anyone could help. Thanks!
What ROM are you using, are you just rooted Stock?
How long has it been doing this?
And yeah, what he said ^
Could be a Rom or you're using or could be your phone itself. I recall several people, including myself, that had problems with mms on CM6 Froyo on the Droid Eris. Some people could fix it using an apn manager, but I could not. I had to move back to the Stock Sense with android 2.1 or a variant like XTR. If mms worked on Stock 2.2 for you, you could try using Virtuous or Sky Raider.

I agree with everybody's suggestions above. You might also make sure your phone is programmed correctly and that the ROM didn't change something critical in that regard. Dial *228 and select option 1.
Good luck!
Some ROMs also have bugs with MMS over wifi... if this is the case try turning wifi off before you send MMS

Hello!
I have a problem sending/receiving mms.
I tried two different roms but the mms woudn't be sent/received. The apns are set correct!
Any idea??

Chris
Edit: Working; provider changed the authentification mode to pap
i think u shud call the customer service of your network provider and figure it out with them... i don't think it has anything to do with different roms.. I think almost all roms are able to send and receive mms...
Had same problem both on Desire and Sensation. Both using cm-based roms. Have not tried customs on hox.

With cm based.roms only one apn must be configured and should include settings from both internet and mms apns. Only then mms works.

I am not new to flashing, or to this forum. I just forgot my login stuff and had to start a new account. Anyway, on to the problem. I have been running the awesome Smasher x rom for a few days, and planned on it being my daily. I noticed that I cannot received any mms while on wifi. I searched, but no luck. This is a big deal for me, as I am on wifi most of the day. Has anyone else experienced thks issue? Is there a fix? I would ask in his thread, but my post count is too low. I tried multiple flashes and downloads. I wiped internal memory too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm wondering if the settings have something to do with it. I'm currently on stock rom. I didn't have issues when using custom Roms

Thanks Larocky. Unfortunately the settings were essentially the same as what I have already so I guess that's not it
Salmans - for a second there I thought that might be my issue to then but then I remembered I uninstalled adblock plus a while ago
