How do you disable one hand operation keyboard layout using the kb? For some reason, my kb layout changes to one hand operation when I type fast. I always go to the menu to turn it off.
Thanks!

Did you ever figure this out? keeps happening to me too.
bump. seriously can someone please help us figure something out? I dont want to switch keyboards, I like this one a lot...
It may be due to the shortcut of pinch-in on the keyboard for one-hand operation..
Thanks
My baby always did this with my keyboard and I couldn't figure it out. It was the pinch in/out feature. Thank you so much

Anyone know of one? Each time use my spreadsheet app I have to change to the number keypad which is cumbersome. Thanks in advance.

Not sure that I understand the question, but I use Swift key x.
One of my favorite features is the fact that it toggles between the keyboard and a regular style number pad instead of the annoying top row numbers.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Well, does it stay in either mode UNTIL you toggle back? As I mentioned it's annoying to have to always change to the number pad.

I tried it. Doesn't do it.

Try perfect keyboard. It is a GB like keyboard. You can set it up to use a split QWERTY in landscape mode with a 10 key in the middle. I use it on my tab and on my gs2. There is a pay version if you like it too.

I'll check it out. So far perfect keyboard with the split mode, a numeric pad in the middle of the qwerty is almost a solution but it's so small there in the middle it doesn't really work out.

Pre-installed Swype works like that. If I toggle to the numbers, it stays there until I toggle back to the letters.

Really? That's what I started with and have been struggling with. Maybe it's the program i'm using? I'm using documents to go... Every time I click on a cell I have to change to numbers.

Ooh....my bad. I mis-understood. I was thinking you were changing between numbers and letters in the same text input box. If you are changing cells then it wouldn't work like you want it to. It defaults to letters.

I agree it does get a little tight on the gs2...try this out on the perfect keyboard. Goto settings-tweaks- and toggle auto return to alpha and toggle numeric keypad on that screen. These will effect the portrait setup. Not sure if it will produce the desired effect when toggling between cells. Try to use the tab or next on the keyboard instead of touching the cell on the screen. I think that is what is resetting you keyboard. Or you may see if the t-9 setup will work.

Didn't work but thanks anyway.

It's the worst damn feature on android. I googled it up and it seems the only cheap fix is going with a sub par keyboard.
Would it be possible to request for a mod that makes this universal for all keyboards?

Get SwiftKey from Google Play .. this version allows you the change the size of the keys
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS50b3VjaHR5cGUuc3dpZnRrZXkiXQ..
This does not stop the keyboard from going fullscreen.
I agree this is very annoying. I just made the leap from iOS to Android to get a larger screen. Now I have a larger screen and a darn keyboard takes up the whole screen?
Just seems counter productive.
Hope google changes this soon.

I am using the stock keyboard and am going mad at the fact that I don't have the commer sign available to me on the keypad unless I hit the symbol button or keep my finger on full stop This is crazy.i would of thought if I change the settings to double tap space bar the full stop would then be a commer sign.
Can anyone help. Am I missing something really simple here
Update: Stock keyboard has a custom button.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
No, you aren't missing anything, that's how weird the stock keyboard is. Use Swype man.
That's how the stock keyboard functions. You long press on the period button on the right to get the symbols. Pressing space bar twice will get you a period (if you turned it on in settings)
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes, a dedicated comma key would be great.
I prefer the way that the period button functions on the Swiftkey keyboard. You long press and more punctuation options come up, once you select the one you want, it disappears and you can keep typing. It's unobtrusive and doesn't interrupt your flow.
I like using the Samsung keyboard though because I can switch between typing and swiping without changing any settings.
I find common words quicker to swipe, but uncommon words quicker to tap out, in terms of not having the prediction engine insert the wrong word.
But my stock keyboard has a customizable key, which has the ability to be made into a comma button?

You might wanna change the title to [SOLVED] and add the solution to OP so more people get the answer
Good tips.. I was having the same frustration. Too bad there isn't 2 custom buttons as the question mark is used quite often too.

Is there a port of the Sense keyboard or is there another keyboard with arrow keys that aren't buried behind 3 layers of alt key switches? A lot of people think the arrow keys are a huge waste of screen but I frequently edit long posts, and it's maddening trying to position the cursor somewhere exactly before or after some specific letter by jabbing your finger and hoping it does't misinterpret what you wanted as highlighting, zooming, cut or paste or delete, etc...

Yeah, SwiftKey has a toggle for arrow keys in its settings. They take up a little extra real estate, but I like them

I've honestly never seen arrow keys in Android... lol
Except for when I had the epic 4g and that was a physical keyboard.
I guess you learn new things everyday

I think legacy features still come in handy now and then. If you don't have the finger precision of a child-laborer, text editing can be a hassle without those arrow keys

Yeah true..
Well at least the s pen adds a bit more precision.
But I rarely find myself actually using it
So are the arrow keys specific to htc legacy devices?
Maybe that's why I've never seen them... I've never owned anything htc
I've played with some htc devices...but when I did they didn't have sense for very long for me to see them
No, HTC just happened to include the arrows as a feature of the Sense keyboard. SwiftKey includes it as a theme option.

Thumb keyboard 4 has arrow keys that are resizeable. Hell the whole keyboard is customizable from the size to layout and theme, I just wish it had an option for the 5th row of numbers
I like to break stuff!
touchpal keyboard has an option to show them too
a.i. keyboard has both the number row and arrows

I have not been able to make the LG keyboard use the split feature in landscape. I have it checked in the settings but nothing changes. I have also unchecked one handed use, although I would like to use them simultaneously. What am I doing wrong here?

You're using the LG Keyboard as your entry method? I had to disable the Path keyboard feature to split the keyboard.

Didn't think about that. Just tried it and I still don't get the split keyboard. Im going to reset the phone and see if that works.
Edit: Never mind, you then have to drag the keyboard to the sides. Thanks, that worked.
