[REQUEST] Microphone (& VOIP) support in kernel 3.0 & ICS ROMs

Now that kernel 3.0 is shaping up towards final release, with HWA, OC, USB host, etc. supported, I just wanted to bring your attention also to the possibility of supporting and using external microphone using headset with 4-connector TRRS plug.
There's been discussion on the forum regarding this, some claimed they have it working, as I can remember mostly on CM7 and rooted stock ROMs.
So here I would throw in my 2 requests/questions for our great developers & ROM builders:
Is audio recording supported in kernel 3.0 (and has anybody sucessfully used this function on an ICS ROM)?
If it is or if we get it working, would it be possible to mimic external mic as an internal, so we could use VOiP apps like Skype (Skype won't work if device hasn't got an internal mic, as I've read)?
I do have a Blackberry 4-connector headset and wasn't yet successful at getting this to work (mic input / audio recording) on any ICS ROM, with old or with the new kernel.
I'm having a felling that we want already to much out of our devices, but let's not settle for less ;-) ... This community turned our eBook readers into a great multimedia ICS devices. Thank you guys for all you've done and will be doing!

Translation: this belongs in the general or q & a section. Development section is for actual developers not questions and requests. It is in the forum rules because it keeps clutter down and devs able I collaboration better. Trust me the devs go to those forums as well and will read your post and respond if they fie obliged to.

Try plugging a usb-on-the-go adapter and some usb thumb droves, bet they show up under /mnt/UsbdriveA, then B, then C, etc
They are mnt points for you guessed it, use drives.

USB Streaming?

Hey guys,
So I recently purchased a new car, but this car has no AUX port in it. I am looking at buying this to install BUT I don't know if audio streaming through USB will work with our phone. The company got back to me and said it doesn't work on the AT&T Note 2 they tested it on so I am not feeling to good about this. Can anyone confirm that it would work or if there is script I can run onto my phone or something to get it working?

[Q] onlive game console

Has anyone tried using a galaxy as a video game console using something like onlive ? I connect my fone to my TV using mhl.
What controllers work well ? Is it possible to do usb-otg and mhl at the same time ?

USB OTG does not work on the Sprint Galaxy S2. That, NFC, and the radios are the only major differences between the E4GT and the international S2.

[Q] MHL HDMI Output for Hyperdrive RLS15 rom

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to use the Samsung HDMI adapter with Hyperdrive RLS 15. Love the rom just need the HDMI to play games and work stuff and wanted to know if their was an app I could use to enable it or a setting that I am missing. I already tested the adapter on another stock S3 and it worked flawlessly so I know that isn't the problem.

If I remember correctly it won't work if your status is modified in About Device. One of the crappy drm issues that is broken when sysscope detects root and/or other system changes. Can't remember all the details for certain, but pretty sure that's the basic issue.
