I have a rooted Galaxy nexus running xenonHD-10-13-12. I re-rooted it a couple weeks ago because the phone randomly started moving from whatever volume phone setting I set it to, to vibrate. It started doing this again, and I have no idea which app must be doing this. Any suggestions?
I am assuming it must be a "feature" of one of my apps. Any advise would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Randy
What audio/sound manager apps do you have installed? With Audio Manager Pro I hold down on a profile to select a schedule for it, did you by chance do something similar?

I love both Callend and lightflow. I did uninstalled avast, so we'll see. I though of lightflow, but can't find any setting that could be related.
I was thinking a look through the settings to see what you could find, opposed to just deleting the app. I know Avast is a popular app for phone security, I was trying to think of what apps on your list may have an option for scheduling sound profiles, that's why I mentioned it. You shouldn't have to delete it and go without.
OK I may be in left field with this one.....
but......some ROMs allow a user to create a "user profile" that allows you to customize your device. This feature is there to allow to to switch profiles if say.... you allow you friends or children to use your device. I can't remember which ROM I was on, but it would always vibe no matter what I set it too. I deleted the profile and poof....all was normal after that.
The setting was under menu options and labeled "profile".
Hope this helps...

That's a good idea, I didn't even think about the "profiles" built into CM and other ROMs.

well I don't see any thing that says "profiles" or even remotely sounds like it would be related to that. Also, I had the same issue before I changed roms... which is what led me to change roms.

Hi this is my first android as well (got mine yesterday)
I must admit i havn't really installed that many apps yet.. but i can recommend the "google goggles" and "asphalt 5"
-TB-
I would also like to know.
Performance increasing apps?
Useful (swiss army knife) apps?
Amazing recreational must haves?
Thanks.
AutoKiller - memory managment
Barcode Sanner - for getting links to apps from the internet
If using mytracks:
Linda file manager - to import tracks

I love the SMS popup program
Australian phone - Found some of the best ones were ES Task Manager, Handcent for SMS/MMS and the ability to change tones via, Camera 360 for an app which enhances everything you can do with the camera, SMS backup to backup to Gmail account and Wheres my Droid which allows you to send a message to the phone when it is on silent which takes the silencer off and triggers the ringtone, enabling you to find it if you have misplaced it. Also another handy one is 3G watchdog which keeps an eye on your data usage.
I like:
AutoKiller (needs root)
Launcherpro
Homeswitcher
Appremover
Appsinstaller
MyBackup Pro
Fancywidget
Extended Controls
LeshaK's update.zip found here
I'm going to have to second launcherpro, really great app.
I can't find fancywidget in the market, is it under a new name maybe?
Also, while shazam is really nice and very accurate for commercial radio, is there another app that's aimed at more obscure/australian music music (I listen to Triple J if that helps)?
Finally can someone recommend a good news widget for australia.

I have also noticed this, although some songs arent registered in the shazam database

HTC complaned and it got pulled off the market i think. You will have to find an alternate source.
Since its installed on my phone can i extract the apk? I would be happy to upload somewhere.

Yes, I use my device a lot. That said, I wanted to post my running services to see how I can reduce the load. I am running Baked Snack 1.8 and am rooted with unrevoked. I use Touchdown for email/calendaring/contacts. I recently started using Juice Defender Beta and SetCPU (only screen off profile). I can literally watch my battery percentage drop. I have done the following:
unchecked always on data
unchecked google talk
sprint only for network
I noticed that there is a "running" tab under manage applications. Here is my list of running apps (and I even try to keep it trimmed down):

Holy S#!! this seems like alot of things running at once, no?
I am guessing its your touchdown, fantasy football, or lockbot causing the problems.
The following are required by the system.
Calander storage
messages (chomp requires this)
Facebook for HTC synchs your contact photos.
I would ditch the 3 apps at the top and see how it goes.
I can't comment on the rom, I run fresh 3.3.0.1
Lockbot is brand new and I have had the same issues since I installed that yesterday. I Touchdown is my email client and I cant use stock HTC app since exchange version is little older than needed. Thanks.
CM6 with Snap 7.6 problem solved..I cant tell you how much better my Battery life is since this combo.. I tryed everything else out there second best combo was the latest Fresh rom off the newest OTA update, CM6/Snap7.6 bests Fresh by alot from what I have seen. Since I changed I get home after a full day with 20-30% battery I used to NEED a bump (the phone not me) around late afternoon before no matter what.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It defaults to like 3-5 min pooling. Not sure why yours doesn't sleep, mine does.
I run CM6 Stable w/ Snap 7.5 and am getting 24+ hours easy with my (light-moderate) usual use.
Now this is a handy wee app!
Check this out. Before installing this app get your hands on taskxp from the market (don't set it as your default launcher make your default what is already was). Reboot your device then click taskxp to check what apps have started (a lot!), also see the amount off free ram you have. But the app below actually works
Download the app from the link below. Disable user apps, and whatever system apps are starting (compare/check with taskxp). Reboot then check what apps have started, nice eh?
It took me just a couple of reboots to get it set up nice.
Note, stay away from installed apps all that does is uninstall.
Try it out post here what you think.

Nice app, but not really the same thing.
Startup Cleaner is simple and it does what it says on the tin. Personally I am not into task killers and that type of thing at all.
I just mentioned Taskxp so people can see what is happening on startup...

Autostarts is the business!! Have been using it since i got my SGS and still using on my SGS II - after wipe/new rom, it's the SECOND app i install after TB!!
I prefer Gemini App Manager, because there is not one, but different kind of autostarts with different triggers and each can be modified by the Gemini app (together with its task killer widget and it's ability to freeze apps (although I have Titanium Backup) it's nearly perfect)
Recent article on Android Police concerning the newest version of the Android Market (as of 1/11/11).
Article Link: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...te-update-over-wi-fi-only-shortcuts-and-more/
Market_3.3.11.apk Download Link: http://lts.cr/BDW_
New Features (Taken from article):
-New setting: Auto-update apps (Sets all apps to auto-update mode, woohoo!)
-New setting: Update over Wi-Fi only
-New setting: Auto-add shortcuts (Automatically adds homescreen shortcuts for new apps, ala Honeycomb)
-Smaller font
-New app drawer icon
-Microphone (voice command) button in search menu
-Star rating chart on app pages
-Minor UI tweaks
New Features for me coming from 3.1.5 (Please tell me if any of these were present in 3.2.0, so I can add them to the few features list, or remove them from here entirely):
-In "My Apps" view, you can now sort apps by account
-When a new update is shown in the notification bar, it tells you which account it is from.
I installed by moving the .apk to my SD-Card and installing from Root Explorer as I would a regular app. I was using the Market version 3.1.5 previously. I'm not sure how it works if you are using a different Market version, although I assume it works in the same manner.
I can confirm that it works without a hitch on the Desire GSM running CM 7.1.0.
Yup, seems to work for me too. I just installed it how I do any other apk
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
Works with Sense ROMs via normal install
love the auto all app update....good for us flashers
Works great on my Atrix. Able to install it just like any other apk file (unlike versions 3.1.6 and 3.2). Love the tweaked ui and the new options in settings that allows you to set all apps to auto update and to only update over wifi. Even the voice command button in the search bar is a nice touch. It seems to load quick and is more responsive than 3.1.5. I haven't had any issues with downloads hanging up like in 3.1.5 either.
works a lot faster than the last one too....

Most custom roms have the ability to deny apps permissions. If you don't have the option on your current rom then try out:

Not sure if this will fix it. I've read in other places that flashing a different version of the market and letting it update again will fix the problem.
