lol... thread title is kind of a joke
so I upgraded about 9 months early today... did the buyout program... long story short, traded in my E4GT and got the Note 2 titanium for $335 -- kicker is I GOT FREE JBL J55i HEADPHONES included at this price? wtf? I think the store was under pressure to move accessories or something? they retail for $130 on amazon lol. great timing as I really needed a new pair
anyway phone is the sex, everything everyone asked more and more :good:
ps: does anyone know if using a charger other than the factory-provided one damages the battery via different voltage, etc? I have a spare kindle one that I'd rather use to charge the phone.

The regulators are in the phone so you cant over charge it. The phone takes 2a on the included wall charger because of its 3100mah battery so the kindle one should be fine. It wont take more than 2a I dont think anyway. You need either the stock charger or a tablet charger to do anything with the phone if you want to use it while charging and still gain a charge. Slower 1a chargers will charge your phone and in the long run are better for your overall battery life but as long as you get rid of charge every few months your battery should last the mfgr rating.
It shouldn't cause problems but may take longer to charge

Any pics for this anywhere? I got a 'coming soon' image only.
Not really concerned with pics as much as I am specs.... we're already at 1930mAh, wonder how big the Seidio is gonna be!
I don't trust the mah ratings seidio give out. They are usually lower than advertised once tested.
If its anything like the galaxy S batt/batt panel, it's gonna be a hilarious sight to see...

I almost fell outta my chair from laughter when the timer hit like 1:08
That **** is like 2.3cm thick!
now thats what i call bricking your phone...but the seidio is not going to need a new back cover if its anything like their other slim extended battery.
loztboy is right if you look at some of the threads about testing the mah rating the oem batteries always have more. if the siedio is the same size as the oem it wont last longer.
I've seen too many complaints about Seidio not holding up over time, I wouldn't bother trying one.
I'm sure there are other batteries that are just as good as the Moto branded ones, but there's so much outright JUNK and counterfeit, and bad lithium batteries don't always die, sometimes they catch fire or explode.
Nope, I'll stick to Moto on this part. From a trusted supplier, not an anonymous one either.

yea its basically another spare, but u plug into to. so it bumps the battery up to over 2900 depending on what battery you currently use. and the other reasons this is nice is because its also case, and with the other extended batteries look ugly and have no cases.
I want to get it but I had bought the seido extended battery surface case that blocked the kickstand and didn't like how it sounded and this one blocks it too so let us know if its worth it or how it sounds
sent from DA BOLT
It seems that covering up the back case containing the antenna with another battery could result in signal loss. Do they do anything special to avoid this?
seriously only reason i haven't got the active extended case is dew to the fact that it will cover up my speaker. I don't care what anyone says It has to affect it in some manner. And why take away my kickstand ?
not to get to defensive but you can still use the kickstand, it can act as a "stand" for the phone, theres a video for it, its probably a lot nice then with it regular back/extended because at least this is getting a charge while using the kickstand, where as regular charge, not possible without some help from towels etc.

Just look at how much the kickstand itself muffles the speaker. This'll probably make it unhearable in a pocket for notification beeps.

I've had the Sprint extended battery for about a year, and it is terrific so far. I easily doubled my battery life, and WAY outlast all my friends (and wife) who have the same phone and general usage.
Also, I prefer the larger battery for one reason: it sits in my hand SO MUCH nicer now. I have fairly large hands, and the phone was so slender that I felt I was always clenching my fingers tightly to keep it in my hand. Now when I hold it, the notch created by the protruding battery sits on my ring finger and keeps the phone still and balanced without my having to tightly grasp the sides. I love it. I wouldn't buy a slender battery again, personally.

Glad Papa set me straight...(?) I've been using my for 6 months, and it seems to get better as it goes along. I did try some of those el-cheapo specials on ebay, won't do that again. I'm like some others, I do like the fit with the Sprint extended battery, and with the right rom and kernel you can rock some serious battery time.

I wanted to see the free case that comes with it. However, I really like the idea. I could purchase an extra back for my phone so I could just swap backs when I am leaving the house. I WISH I could see this in stores first as I have watched the video on how to tell which size to use, but I am not sure as to how far down on my fingers I would hold the phone. I also would like to see how easy it would be to pull the adhesive of; I would hate to substitute this as a case and then be out in the Texas heat with this thing on and the adhesive wear off, sending my $600 phone plummeting to its death. However, pretty good review I will keep my eyes on this accessory.
Oh, and I am also curious as to much thicker the small and medium
TL;DR: I need to see this in person first before I spend $30.

Put that good phone to use and give them a ring to make sure it is in stock before you go.
Just got this today. The thing looks quite functional, but I wonder how durable it is in the long run?
The case seems like generic black TPU, feels a bit rubbery. Although, I haven't owned a phone case in a while so I can't say. I'm on the fence about it, but will put it through its paces before passing judgment.

Training us to hold the phone is not the point. I can't even reach the Menu button or a lot of real estate on this phone much less hold it without the threat of dropping it while trying to operate one handed. With one of these my thumb will be able to reach all areas of the screen with no danger of me dropping the phone. There are many times when one-handed usage is ideal, but this phone is so large for most it's not possible. I bought one just the other day and only wish I had happened upon this thread first to get the free shipping. Did get a free case, though.

Just wondering if once on is there any method to loosen the adhesive to take it off. Due to dropping my first phone I have an extra case as well as an extra battery. I'm planning on using both cases-will place Flygrip on one and leave the other original. I'm just thinking I might not like the color (I ordered white for my blue S3) and may order another color and take the first one off.
