[Q] ad-hoc network between two devices - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm looking for an app that will let two android devices (one being the s3) be on their own network and share data with each other, no outside network required. And also a video conference app that will let them chat without an outside network.
Any suggestions?

NEW Settings for Cricket Android Plan??

as you all know we all had to put in our own custom settings and iptables into our android phones to get cricket working on our phones allowing us to access the marcket, internet, and apps.
it involves using autostart, u2nl, and replacing the APN's.
now all of that is to route all traffic trough the cricket proxy which only allows access to the internet trough port 8080.
but NOW as you all may know cricket offers an android phone plan which gives you unlocked 3G speed (yes my speed went up a little bit once i got the plan, to about 70KB/s) but i think it's not fully unlocked because i have all these things being routed trough their old proxy servers...
so does anyone know the new settings to configure your android phone with the cricket android plan?
supposedly on the plan description it says everything works, apps, market, everything!

can you give me a link to which forums exactly? there's several Q&A forums...

Tethering with Focus

Hi,
I've got a Samsung focus on Bell (unlocked)
I have updated and unlocked the phone to 8107 and it seems I have the tethering function working but when I connect another computer to it, it says limited connectivity and doesn't get any data whereas I can surf the web on the phone itself...sometimes I will get a few mb of data but not much
Anything I can check to see if I enabled it right in the firmware?
Thanks.

[Q] Koodo/Telus I747M + LTE = no outbound calls??

Hi everyone!
So, i finally got a SGS3. Love it! Noticed while i am with Koodo that i am getting the LTE indicator but when i try to make calls, they immediately fail and drop. I used the *#2263# menu, chose WCDMA and selected the ALL item to force the unit to 4G mode and i can make calls again. Has anyone else experienced this??

yup, koodo confirmed it is an LTE SIM. LTE is active on the account too.
I thought on some LTE networks, the LTE is only used for data and they are still using legacy GSM for voice calls.

This is true, but this is not what the OP is suffering from.

you know what? Thx kennyglass123. i'm an idiot. plain and simple. i must need more sleep because after 6 years here i STILL posted in the wrong forum in my comatose state!
If you choose "LTE ALL", it won't go back to WCDMA and stay on LTE when you try to call, so it won't be able to call.
Choose "AUTOMATIC". If it's already like that, then I don't know..

Just found this and it explains everything. Nice of the carriers to not tell us eh?

Possible to disable LTE and use HSPA?

My LTE signal is almost non existent, but my Note 2 still connects to it. It's very slow. HSPA is much faster. Is there a way to disable LTE?
Few things, this has been asked and answered before. Questions should be asked in q&a sub. Back to your question. I not sure if it works on all carrier but with at&t you would just need to add another apn then there will be an option for network type.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Sorry, I tried to search but it was disabled and I was losing my patience with my LTE speed at home especially when it's soo much faster than my wifi at work and at my parents house....
Can you please enlighten this newb by telling me how to add another apn please?
Mods please close thread. I'll post a new thread in the proper section. Sorry

What rom for a 4G connection ?

Hello!!!
I am French, and am looking for a rom to have a 4G connection.
I tried a lot, but meets a worry of internet connection, no SMS reception, only the calls work.
Thank you for all information
As far as i know, look for an apn fix for your carrier that you can flash to your device. Mine is a virgin mobile usa device so i looked for an virgin mobile apn flashable zip
I do not have virgin mobile, but I found a rom that allows me to be connected in 4G.
