I have a Canadian Samsung Galaxy S III SGH 1747M with Telus. I attempted to root it using the S III toolkit developed by Mskip. Once odin flashed my phone with the boot_insecure_xxale8_cwm.tar file it attempted to reboot but can't get past the splash screen. I say soft bricked because I can enter download mode. I can't find a factory image for the SGH 1747M anywhere. Or even many threads devoted to it. So how do I unbrick it?
Create a account on sam mobile (free) download your firmware for Telus, then extract the. Tar from it put it into the PDA in Odin and flash

the most complete Odin I found was on samfirmware they have 2. Netherlands and Luxembourg, the lux has more files in it, I think it has a modem and boot loader where the other doesn't.

I've been trying to root my GS3 for the past week and everything I have found that is supposedly working with my SGH I747 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 never works...I follow all the instructions, and when I plug my phone in, Odin v3.07 gets stuck on "get PIT for mapping" and then after a while it says "fail"
Any help?

So i tried to root with CF AutoRoot and my AT&T S3 and basically bricked my phone. Is there a way to fix it (unbrick/go back to factory settings) with Odin because i can go into download mode looking for stock firmware etc
Really need to fix my phone

you might want to search xda for other options first before wiping out your phone, i.e. get your phone to boot w/ root.
i did it with 4.3 installed
Ok if you want to fix it then you have to the service centre and ask for the change of mother board

Flash 4.3 with Odin.
For those of you who upgrades their note IIs to 4.3 official update or custom update and downgrade it to 4.1.2, and get not registered on network message, when networking on SIM card, here is an easy way to fix it.
Step1: find an official 4.3 firmware and that you had installed before and was working properly.
Step2: open the .tar firmware file and extract it using 7zip or winrar using a computer.
Step3: now you will see a modem.bin file after extraction.
Step4: flash it using odin, using the modem or CP button in odin. Which one of them you find in your odin version.
I hope this will work.
