battery can't get charged od Oxygen - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

when I charge the battery on my Desire when it's turned off, everything goes smooth. but when I plug it in when it's on, the battery can't get charged. the notification LED stays orange forever and battery status says "charging, 100%". tried wiping battery stats. afraid of wiping data. does anyone know what the heck is wrong? I assume it's ROM issue cause as I said - when off, works fine. any oxygen users experiencing the same?

Hey, anyone knows?

Wait a little longer, the led will turn green. I was wondering the same a while ago. It says 100% sometime before the led turns green. I guess Oxygen isn't perfect after all...

do you mean like 24 hours? because my Desire shows it after 1 night of loading (12 hours) and I thought it should be enough.

It should not take forever. I just checked my phone while it was charging, the led was orange and it said: charging 100%. After maybe 10 or fifteen minutes the led was green...

so here is the difference. as I said, it can even stay for 5 hours with "100%" and still the LED won't turn green.

[Q] Charging with clockwordmod recovery screen

I know that when I turn off fastboot, power down the handset and connect the charger, the clockwordmod recovery screen shows.
My question is: Will displaying this for three four hours have a detrimental effect on the screen eg. burn in?
I'm 74% certain that the battery does accept a charge in this state but after three four hours still haven't got a green light.
Anyone?

i can't really answer your question because i dont know, but imo the best way to charge the device is to put it in hibernate, that way the screen stays off and cwm dosent come up

I don't think leaving it to charge in clockwork is going to do your screen any favours, but why do you need to turn it off to charge it? It does charge fine in recovery but for your screens sake leave it turned on
Thanks guys.
I had a Desire before my HD and had battery drain problems that were somewhat resolved by charging the phone fully and then resuming charge whilst turned off.
Y'see, when the light turns green, I power it off and the light is orange which (going by the desire) means it is not fully charged.

See your point, but surely if youve charged it to an indicated 100% (note green light comes on around about 90%) then turn it off, a charge for half an hour should be the most it's gonna need? and i dont think thats gonna kill your screen.
BTW if you install QtADB you can use the phone info pane to check the charge/charging state whilst in recovery which has gotta be more accurate than relying on the light changing colour

I think htc removed that crappy 95% charge thing on the dhd , i had the same problem with my desire, but ive left my dhd on charge all night while its been on, and in the morning i still had 100% charge

[Q] Anyone experiance this werid battery issue?

Hi guys, this morning my desire was vibrating like mad, it was plugged in charge overnight, the screen was off and it was constantly vibrating, so I took the battery out. When putting it back in the phone wouldn't turn on and when holding the power button constantly down it would vibrate again like mad :-$ any ideas?? Thanks
How often does it vibrate? Seven times? If yes, then your phone might be bricked.
SwiftKeyed from dGB with Transparent XDA App
Its a constant vibrate, I changed my battery and the phone switches on and works fine
Its just my other battery. Could this mean the battery got overcharged and is now damaged? Any tips?

Such information would have fitted perfectly in the initial post as well.. From OP there were no indication that your phone turned on at all.
But yes seems likely, and if it doesn't work then throw it out.
Funny enough i put that old battrery back in, and after a few presses of the power button, it switched on, i put it on charge, and currently it was showing 0% but charging, and its charging very slow now :-s could this mean something else? because the battery was on charge overnight. Would a battery calbiration sort this problem?
p.s the battery is only 2 months old, being a genuine htc innovation one, it shouldnt go that quick i assume.

Probably.. It most likely won't ruin you phone, so keep using it, if it still works.
ok that battery is not charging at all, stays at 0% while plugged in, and if i switch the phone off and let it charge, then after a few mins the fone starts constantly vibrating like mad, i went into recovery - advanced - wipe battery stats as well but its still doing it, should i assume it is the battery which is completely gone now?
With my 2nd battery its working fine as normal.
It must be the battery, time for the bin I think...

Device won't turn on

Yesterday when i plugged my phone in to charge, the battery icon turned into a question mark and the led started blinking orange and green. I tried pulling the battery out and rebooting the phone and the battery went back to normal but the led kept blinking. I left it to charge overnight and now I cannot get the phone to turn on at all. I have tried pulling the battery, holding the power button, plugging it in, nothing works. It will not turn on. I am on skyraider zeus if that helps at all.

The blinking LED of orange and green means the battery is overheating.
Try a new battery, battery is possible dead?
What kernel are you running? Stock clock speed and voltage? I would also recommend trying a new battery before anything else.
Sounds like your battery is overheating. Well actually sounds like you overheated it to death. It definately isn't a hardware problem though. Ive done this a couple times. Last summer while waiting for Revolutionary to come out I burned allot of time on Netflix with my phone plugged in, one week later fried battery. Just bring the battery in and they can tell you if it's dead or not

[Q] Red notify LED light blinking...

Its second time i have the notify red light blinking when i put the phone to charge and when is in this state he dont turn On, anyone knows why have this issue?
usually, if it is overheating i.e above 48 degrees Celsius, battery won't charge and the phone will blink red then green.
if that's what's happening, just wait for the phone to cool a little bit and stop using it. it will do the trick

Over heating light flashes red and green, just red is something else I've never had it.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium HD app
Mine have a red turned on continuously (no blinking) when I connect it charger and then turns green once charged.. never had it bilinking while charging.. not sure if its broken though..
When my battery drained completely (the phone would not turn on at all) I had to put it on USB charging for a few minutes, then the red light started bliking for a while and then it turned on and started charging.
I think it's some kind of error, depends on what it does except blinking...

Charging led red blinking

I flashed last night ARHD 21.0 and lyapota mod. I had a very busy day and unfortunately my phone discharged completely, i pluged it in to charge and the red led for charging is blinking and the phone was not turning on, after a few minutes i managed to turn it on but displayed unnable to charge and turned off again. It's the first time it does that, i was on ARHD 20 and had no problem. It might be a problem with the kernel letting the batery to drain completly? I don't know what to do now because i can't go for warranty because i do not have the stock rom. When it was on even if it was pluged into the wall it still discharged. Any ideas? (excuse my english)
Just keep it on a wall charger for an hour or so and then try switching it on!
It's on now, i'l go back to stock for a few days just in case, it's discharging very fast.
