I hope the 4g isn't set up like it was on the thunderbolt, how it just automatically runs with no toggle switch.

Theres an option for CDMA only (no LTE) however leaving the CDMA/LTE option enabled has no truly noticeable effect on battery

Obviously there is because your phone certainly isn't connecting to wimax.
You can go to s4gru.com and check to see if there are live towers near you... though I think we can assume there are.

post speedtest

In addition to checking out s4gru.com as decke003 stated you can also visit http://www.sensorly.com/ and select Sprint - 4G and see if anyone else has saw LTE.

Texas is the most 4G'ed in the country I believe. I was getting 4G in a middle of nowhere in Texas. (truck driver)

Correct. I would love to have 4g out here. You would think with Phoenix being such a large city (population wise) they would put something here.

Anyone know of an app that tracks cell signal strength?

Looking for an app that creates a graph of network signal strength along my commute. That way I can compare networks using separate sim cards. Thanks!

Yes!!! I want one of those too when some smarty figures out how to build it. I dont even need it for a commute, just knowing which carrier has better reception around my shack would be good enough
I believe open signal maps does this

If you found what you are looking for great, but if not search for Android Signal Info on rootz. It doesn't have maps, but it gives detailed signal info useful for analyzing your mobile network

Speed Test is like Quadrant it does not mean much because the speed is dependant on the internet route as a whole not just your carriers network.

Honestly the difference between 10MB and 15MB means nothing. The server you connect to is usually the weak link. You show 19MB. Enjoy the phone... Your DLs are fine.

You are pinging a server outside your carriers network, it means nothing about your carrier.

Some servers have strange behavior with T-Mobile. However, box.com download can get maxed out at 1.5MB/s (~12Mbps).

LV still only has WiMax. No LTE there yet at least not officially, there may be a few spots active. Use the sensorly app from play store to see if theres any Sprint LTE in the area.

There is already a thread for LTE where and when. And no Vegas does not have LTE yet. There are maybe only a couple small spots in Vegas that once in awhile get LTE. My brother lives there and has no LTE.

Tmobile has a really great LTE network in the East Coast. The more you go towards Texas or California, the speeds become slower and slower. D:
