[App] Solid Explorer - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer
This is a must have file manager app if you own a Note 2. Super fluid dual directory that allows drag and drop. This makes Astro File Manager seem like child's play. Check it out.

This app is nice. Just switched all my devices to this.
Was wondering when you navigate to system/app if we need to do any changes, aren't we suppose to switch to r/w and then back to r/o? I didn't see that option. Does it do it automatically?
Got answer, I'm good.

How does this compare to ES File Explorer? I'm used to using the tab interface to swap between Local, LAN, FTP, and Net (Cloud). Does this have something similar?

I wish I knew about this sooner. I don't know how I used anything else. Awsome work. I recommend it to everyone. Blows all the others out of the water.

Haven't used ES file explorer much. I mainly used root explorer and the older version of astro. This app pretty much replaces the other two. As far as quickly swapping between the networks, yes it's easily accessible.

Give Solid a try. I like the integration of root features. The basic interface design is similar to Total Commander, but more polished and keeping with the overall look and feel of android.

*[HOW TO] * Change Bootanimations in 2 steps

With the huge help of Truth77, we figured it out.
Follow instructions to the letter. You take all risk, ya da ya da.
Tested and works on:
Thunder Jelly
Hybrid Rom
1. Download this file http://db.tt/ocm6u4IE
If your download comes through with a text extension, remove it. It does on some phones depending on your file browser. There should be be extent ion showing after you paste it.
Put it back if your bootanimation doesn't work.
2. Go into system/bin. Find the Samsungani file and rename it to Samsungani bak
3. Paste the new file in
4. Set permission to
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
5. Set owner to
6. Place any regular boot animation.zip in system/media.
7. Set permission to
Reboot
That's it
Even if you mess up permission, the phone will boot. Just no animation
No deleting those other files.
Please leave feedback if it works for you and what rom.

Caused a boot-loop for me on Novella 1.1 (4.1.2) + Perseus Kernel 32.1 on Galaxy Note 2 AT&T.
After using Teamwin Recovery to rename the file to put the old file back in its place the phone booted up fine, but was extremely sluggish. Apps had trouble loading if at all took seconds to swipe between screens etc. Let the phone rest for 5 minutes, could not get the phone to wake again. Phone was still on due to notification light blinking. Had to remove battery to get it to reset. Upon resetting phone started boot-looping again for about a minute before finally booting up normally. Had to remove battery yet again to get the phone to shut off.
Restoring back to Nandroid backup before the changes were made fixed the issues completely.
Running Novella UCMA4 with Perseus-alpha33 and the method worked flawlessly once again. Thanks once again!:victory:
Worked flawlessly on USCC variant running stock rom. Thanks for this guide
