What a stupid video...
You can hardly say it's "in action"
that's like showing a video of someone starting a car and saying it's "in action"
The border around the screen makes it look weird..
I'm worried they're getting rid of the tablet UI we like so much.

Best movie trailer ever. EVER!!

I love the phone ui on a tablet, but hopefully they do keep the tablet ui for those who do like it. That's what makes Android great, it's customizable for almost anybody.
Maybe it's just beta software and DPI related. No Android tablet has had that dense a display before (pretty sure its around the 300 mark). If you mess with the DPI on existing android tabs the UI switches to Nexus 7 style (tested on my XOOM).

Well, it's all open-source. A dev who understands it well enough could probably program the old tablet UI back in.

I do miss Sense widgets, for example how hard would it be for google to make a flip contacts widget?
I hope it'll be even smoother, and I'm curious about ui changes.. Dunno what else they could do lol

Custom auto corrections please! This would go such a long way to improving the typing experience on android. Similarly to what iOS does with their keyboard shortcuts.

A performance increase is a given. Jellybean needs to be an upgraded ICS instead of a completely new OS upgrade. The Froyo to GB upgrade is a great example; Google spent way too much time on ICS just to completely change it...
I really hope they design a centralized location for all notification settings. Any app that has notifications would show up and you could set led color and ringtone etc like a fully integrated light flow

Great changes take big time. In fact the more a software becomes popular the more difficult is to upgrade it. ICS is the best thing happened to Android since it came out.

A dialer that's actually useable so we don't need to keep relying on third party dialers for t9/smart dialing.
Higher resolution contact images so when they call me and their picture shows up, it doesn't look like ass.
They need to do something about the keyboard and on screen navigation buttons. Its too easy to hit home instead of space bar.
On the flip side, I'd also like to see the ability to adjust the space bar thickness - I keep missing it and end up typing a long word that auto correct isn't smart enough to figure out.

I've only owned android smartphones, but I have bought my parents iPhones. After spending time with droid 1, 3, incredible, and galaxy nexus and iPhones I can see the strengths and weaknesses of each.
If jellybean doesn't improve the smoothness of the ui and just general snappiness than I'm done with android. The hardware is strong enough that the hitches and slowness are inexcusable. And this is only one problem, but I agree jellybean should be a large patch to iCS.

Well you better get an iPhone cause that's never going to happen. In order for it to be that smooth they would have to re-write Android completely in native code which they will not do because it will break support for all 450k apps. Android is basically an emulator so the faster your device is the smoother it will be. It really shouldn't be an issue on the Gnex. I think you're being a little picky. The One X and Galaxy S III should abandon most, if not all, choppiness and lag due to CPU/GPU combos that are multiple times faster than the Gnex.
Another thing they can do is give the UI a higher priority. The UI is top priority on iOS and that prevents stutters but pauses other tasks while its loading UI.

I am on sprint and thinking about getting a new phone (with my own money of course- not my parents). I am trying to figure out if the galaxy note 2 would be too big for my hands. Right now I am using the old epic 4g (keyboard) so anything would be an upgrade from that Question pretty much comes down to note 2- or if its too big wait for a nexus device hopefully with sdcard slot.

it's never too late to become a techno geek, and it's not a matter of dimensions - when i was a kid i was riding my father's bicycle with my legs within the frame. So instead of measuring the distance between ear and mouth (another important ergonomic parameter for the Note 2 ) you should ask yourself what would you do with it: for gaming it's simply superb (i am 46! ), for android hacking anything is good, if you just make calls there are 100s of better telephones, for messaging why not a phone with keyboard, for home usage why not a tablet. and don't forget about pricing, too, unless it's a present
But don't wait: by experience, any moment is equivalent, and new better models will always arrive. In the worst case, sell it back on ebay and get the new one. No choice is forever....even at your age!

How many people are gonna wait for next years nexus phone instead of buying the nexus 4?
I only recently bought a Galaxy nexus and i'm definitely gonna wait because the only major differences are the camera, CPU and battery
Whats everyone's thoughts? whos gonna wait and whose gonna take the plunge?
If the N4 was the same price as the GNex was at launch, sure that'd be an easy decision, but it being so cheap makes it hard to resist.
Personally, I think I'm going to wait and see how 4.2 runs on the GNex and then make up my mind.

Nexus 10 looks incredible 2560x1680 are you kidding me thats insane
I'll be waiting for the 2013 nexus.
Nexus 4 is step 1.... I prefer to wait until they've got it stable
Having recently acquire a Galaxy Tab 2, in addition to my SGN which is only 9 months old, I think the remainder of this year's electronics budget is going towards the new ARM Chromebook. Quad core is nice and all but having just started writing Android apps, there's the danger of only testing on really fast hardware and discovering your app is a dud only when it's too late
I foresee my SGN lasting at least one battery replacement -- when updates stop coming out, I'll get whatever the current Nexus is and put CyanogenMod on the SGN. Plus resale values have probably tanked ever since the N4 annoucement came out.
I will wait. I don't want to give my money to LG again... (I had an O2x)
While the nexus 4 is a great improvement over the Galaxy Nexus. The non removable battery kinda killed it for me. I have a spare battery for my phone that i use allot and i can't go with a phone without a removable battery.
As long as my Galaxy Nexus does everything i need it to do I won't abandon it.

I will wait. The quad core and camera are not doing it for me. We should be getting the 4.2 update shortly -which is the key point for me. I believe the next Nexus will be running Android 5, that's really something to look forward to.

I'm going to wait and see, but currently I'm leaning towards "keep the GNex & upgrade next year". I don't need the extra horsepower, the screen is a minimal upgrade and the looks aren't really spectacular enough to make me want to switch for fashion.
The camera improvements are nice, but don't seem enough to make me want to bite.
And we get all the 4.2 goodness anyway.

I'm keeping it for another year but I love the gorilla glass and overall more thoughtful case design. With the current phone, it's a risk giving it to my 5 year old to watch a netflix video.

Same here. I had the horrible LG Revolution, and they've lost my business forever.
Plus how on earth did Google make the decision to drop LTE. That is going got bite them in the butt. once you have real 4G LTE speeds, not that HPSA BS you'll never want to go back.
I see the Nexus 4 like an inferior Galaxy Nexus. The ONLY things it has going for it is an extra Gig of RAM, a "supposedly" better camera, and a better processor.
To me a nice dual core phone with a nice screen, excellent ROM support and freaking LTE makes much more sense.

I'm going to wait and see. I just don't think the quad processor is going to make a whole lot of difference in real world to me. I'm not a gamer so I don't need to shell out another $400 for the 16g device with tax right now. Most apps are not even going to be optimized for the quad processor right now anyway. Our genx will run 4.2 nice and smooth and easily get me thru till the next one is released next year. If I tried to keep up with every phone that comes out that's better, I'd go broke!

Well... I decided on a Garmin Vivosmart HR. Went basic. Haven't really worn a watch in years and I thought I'd like to stay more on the small and basic side. ASUS does seem to have some good devices they put out from different reviews I've read. My company is basically paying for it through lower insurance rates, more HSA money, and gift cards so starting out with something like this would be OK, then get another one more advanced like the ASUS if I really liked this and wanted something more.
Just picked this tablet up today and set it all up.
It seems to be suffering with really annoying micro stutter while scrolling up and down in the web browser.
It’s not smooth at all compared to my 2 year old iPad Pro.
It looks like it’s struggling with the graphics or something.
I have noticed it does the same in other areas as well.
Any ideas at all, before it goes back.

Its definitely the more premium device . I'm fortunate I got 100 quid off and the keyboard case free which I'm going to sell. If it wasn't for that I would be doubting even more the price. I think at 599 it should have the SD 845 and atleast 6gb of ram...I think it would feel more for the price. Don't get me wrong it's still powerful and I'm finding it quick and smooth and we can get more out of it once twrp etc comes to it.
With the SD835, they should have stuck in 6gb or ram , 128gb of storage and priced it max at 499
I don't care that much about CPU and RAM I guess the current specs are decent.
What fu*ks me up is that poor scrolling experience. I noticed it 5 minutes after unpacking.

To be fair i dont think the wavey scrolling is Samsung's fault. I've seen it on multiple android device in landscape or portrait on amoled and ips/lcd screens. Guess the bigger the screen the more noticeable it is.
The landscape/protrait inconsistencies annoy me too. Even with Samsung's own settings and apps
