I wonder if there is a page that does a performance and feature comparison of various CM ROMs for Desire?

there is just a minimal difference as they are all based in cm

Sense 3.5 Rom disable 3D

Hi,
Im using a sense 3.5 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315961). Its very fast and stable but the 3d effect needs to much ram and that means bad multitasking and the phone gets too hot too fast.
With other launchers like golauncher, i havent these problems.
So i'd like to disable the 3d effect.
Is there a way todo that, or only to change the launcher to sense 2.3 launcher but still have all other sense 3.5 things?
Mfg metinkale
Sorry if it isnt corect english, my english isnt best.
Yes. You can disable it in the RCMix3D tweaks.
I can disable the 3d unlock Animation and the 3d of the widgets, but i want to disable the whole 3d, like in sense 2.3.

Sense ROM with Apex Launcher

I would like to install Apex Launcher to replace Sense and I would like to take some of the sense launcher system out (if possible), but leave in some of the apps (Friend Stream, Stocks etc) - is there a way to do this?
Im running the lastest Team Venon, Viper X.
I would use Rom cleaner by patrics mate
Take a look on his thread...

Try Rezounded rom.

Thank you for the suggestions.
Probably best to reinstall the Viper ROM and "De Sense" during installation, you can replace most of the apps you want with others, ie: Friend Stream, you can use Friendcaster.
Have tried that previously, but IMHO you cant beat the HTC apps, I know there are others out there that ape some of them, but dont come any where near as good.

MIUI vs P.A.C vs CM10?? (JB version)

In my searching of the best performance for our Xperia S, I want to know which rom choose the Xperia S users. We have no official Jelly Bean, and CM10 is the base of all, but obviously they are quite different.
I want that you decided thinking in battery, and in possibilities in appearance and usability (and other configurable parameters).
I Did not try MIUI, but imagine it will also smooth.
I assume that we start with Unlocked Bootloader.
PAC in my opinion. I don't like iPhone's so wouldn't want miui. And there's a few more options in pac over cm

I use PAC ever since i have unlocked btldr, it's faster in benchmarks than CM, more feature-rich, and smooth

BTW you can choose PAC with nova Kernel for maximum performance and customization + install mihome launcher (by miui) for cool themes!
Thats what I have done and I am totally happy with it!
Try it!

Cm10+ nova all the way
Each ROM is going to behave slightly differently for each device. Reading the threads and flashing them yourself is the only real way to tell which one will work the best for you and your device.

Sense roms are smooth, and cm6 is superfast (both of these are android 2.2 froyo), android 4.0 has some bugs but the perfect balance is cm7. It is all about your preferences though, which one you like. if you have just rooted I would suggest cm7.
I tried cm7 but found the launchers to be a bit laggy the wildfire is just a spare phone so the app compabality dosnt matter I just need a superfast Rom with decent battery life

1) do you overclock your phone ?
2) use cm7 nightly, touchviz by androidaddiction (without sense)
3) jokerdroid 4.3 rom (with sense)
4) for cm7, use launcherpro. Download it from play store.
Adjust it abit to make it fast
E.g
Go to launcher settings > advanced > scroll speed ( increase to 65 or above ) > app opening speed ( increase it from 4 to 6)
For better performance and battery, overclock to 729 max 352 min and use governor "smartasssv2"

aokp v3, oc 264 to 729, v6 script, apps on sd and launcher pro and u have fast rom

I might suggest one of the "ultra smooth" roms They are really some of the smoothest around, especially with the supercharger and overclocking...
Can you send a link to an ultra smooth Rom

[Q] Fastest HTC Desire Rom (performance)

Hi all,
I'm currently looking for the fastest / best performing HTC Desire Rom.
As I'm playing Ingress, its really slow and closes very often. I was thinking flashing a Rom without Sense, as it would probably perform better.
I guess 2.3 is faster than the new built? Or is it the other way around?
Let me know if you have any suggestions, or if I should use a 2.3 no-sense Rom?
Regards

I would recommend AOKP VJ 4.2.2 Jelly Bean v2.1. In my eyes it is one of the fastest, smoothest and most stable CM 10.1 based ROMs at the moment. I appreciate that it constantly keeps the mem free above 100mb.
i'd say Mildwild roms are the fastest and most stable.
Been using them for a long time now....still very pleased with them.
They have a few small issues, but overall...the fastest roms available if u ask me.
Currently running MW9.5 Redux, but used MW8 before....i find MW8 a little bit faster and better...it's got a few more options than MW9.5
...hoping for and upgrade of the MW8 version....
Wanted to say thx for all your suggestions. I'm running 4.2.2 VJ CM 10.1 now, and its awesome.
Pretty fast, and i got plenty of RAM, so Ingress does not close when minimizing (not everytime at least)
Thx! :highfive:
