Bootloop - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

No matter which rom I flash when I reboot it is stuck in a boot loop. I am able to get to recovery every time to flash new roms, but no matter which one I use it will not boot it gets stuck in a boot loop.

What recovery are you using?

its something to do with data, i think, did you try wiping data, cache and delvik cach?
EDIT: i advise not using TWRP 2.3.1.1, there is still a lot of bugs and stuf.
try going to a previous version such as 2.2.2. or 2.2.1 those seem to have all the bugs worked out,

MIUI on my evo

Hey guys im having a problem getting MIUI to boot on my phone I did the format all and flashed it and it just bootloops what should I do
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
You need to properly wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Just flashing the format all is not enough to wipe everything.
ClockworkMod Recovery?
Are you not able to hboot?
If you can, I'd factory reset and wipe dalvik as well.
You might take a look at SalvageMod 1.0 as well. Fewer issues than the stock out of the box ROM.

Find the clear-temp-files.zip and flash that after flashing the format-all.zip. Then flash the rom. This is especially important if you're coming from a sense rom. Also do not restore system data or system apps, if you use TB. Just restore user apps and data.
Clockwork doen't wipe .. unless they fixed it .. IDK I don't use it because it wouldn't wipe all the data, then I would get stuck in a boot loop. Flash Amon Recovery, wipe all except system, then flash .. ENJOY!!
i have tried everything you guys have said and it still isnt working is there only one file i have to flash?

ok ill have to check it out and im using RA 2.3
Yea, for AOSP, I strongly recommend Tiamat. Been using it a couple days and great performance and battery life. SBC and No-SBC versions availible.
should i use a GB version of it or the froyo
I would say go gingerbread version.

I am using Amon and this is method that worked for me:
1. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
2. Wipe Dalvik-Cache
3. Flash Miui
4. Reboot
Maybe try it one more time. Maybe bad download of Miui - are you trying the most recent Miui?
well i flashed an older version and it worked but when i tried to flash the update it stoped working

So you would run a gingerbread kernel for a froyo based rom?
FAIL!

Knowingly, I wouldn't. As I stated before, I've never used MIUI. Seeing as its Froio based, you need to run the Froyo based. Though Gingerbread kernels CAN run on Froyo based roms.
Use Amon_RA, wipe chache, flash phone with MIUI again, wipe chache one more time. That is what I did last night because I was getting stuck at boot animation screen. I did not flash kernel because I had ziggy already.

[Q] No Rom's work?

I have been using an old rom for months now with no problems. I decided that I would unroot my phone and get all new updates from Sprint and re-root. I used Revolutionary to root had some problems finally got full root. Here are where my problems start. First I tried MikG v3.00 for some reason it got caught in boot loop cleared cach still boot loop. Then I tried Sprint Lovers everything seem to be fine wiped and clear cach flashed rom. Loaded like normal and splash screen goes into home screen show signal stregth and battery strength but at that point that is it. Cannot access phone. I was smart enough to backup before I started this process so I can go back to what worked but I want a change. Can anybody help me!!
Go read my guide, bro. It's for people right after they get rooted. Click the link in my signature
Shot in the dark, but what recovery are you useing
Sent from my PC36100 using Xparent Green Tapatalk
First, you should NOT have unrooted. There is nothing from Sprint that is not in a custom ROM.
Next, when you flash a new ROM, you MUST wipe evrything on the wipe screen except SDCard. Then run VR Superwipe zip. Then flash the ROM.

You didn't WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET. That's your problem right there.
Choose wipe data/factory reset like I said three times and it will boot right up.

You have to install the amon ra style recovery [in the dev section]. I haven't used it yet, but you may have to be on the latest CWM recovery, because I don't know if the style recovery uses the older version of CWM recovery, since they changed.
Radios, hboot etc can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485 if needed

[Q] Nothing but stock rom works for me anymore.(Description in thread/message)

So I was on CM10 and decided to update to the new CM10.1. My smart self decided to let the updater do it's thing and not wipe anything. I got to 10.1 without any visible problems. Then decided to wipe everything as to avoid possible future problems. After wiping, all my gapps just broke and I had to reflash them. Thats when the rest of the problems started. The gapps were still broken so I decided to wipe again and reflash both the rom and gapps. At this point I dont remember exactly but either CWM was freezing at every point or i was stuck in boot animation.
Fast forward a few days later I had to ODIN flash stock rom and trying to flash anything else just keeps me stuck in boot animation.
(Note: any CM backups keep me stuck in boot animation too)
So any help is appreciated ive tried just about everything. I also get a lot of cache errors that Im not sure of in CWM.
Sorry about the long post im fairly new to the site so i didnt know how much detail to include.
You should try TWRP and see if it works.
Ill try it and reply with results tomorrow

What cwmr version are you on? If you still using the 5.x.x.x that's why(have to use the darkside wipe script). Update your recovery through ROM mananger to the latest 6.0.2.9 or to twrp through goo manager.

X crashes all processes upon startup

Hi Xda,
I was working on putting a custom ROM on my one x as a result of it being slow.
everything started out fine, bootloader was unlocked fairly easy, gaining perm root as well.
however after a couple of tries I haven't been able to get a custom rom working properly. it will start up the system, passed the startup, then as soon as the first start screen opens up, every possible process starts crashing. (the only really visible crash is com.android.phone, however as soon as I click "ok" it will pop-up again within a second)
I've done the following:
Remove lock,
gain root access,
install CWM
downloaded ROM and Gapps (put it on the SD card)
performed a full wipe (Dalvik Cache, factory Reset)
install ROM and Gapps.
after this the problems started occurring.
a few solutions i tried:
1. I've retried the above process and included the boot.img loading using fastboot, then clearing the cache again.
2. I've wiped all possible data using the "superwipescript"
3. tried a different ROM which gave me the exact same errors.
atm i'm getting desperate because I've run out of options.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
Thanks in Advance!
Have you flashed boot.img via fastboot?

this might be a silly question, but it's not an AT&T one x? there have been a few of those here who shouldn't be here.
if it isn't...then check your HBOOT version

No i'm on the international one x (Dutch, T-Mobile)
my HBOOT Version is 1.39.0000
I've tried installing Paranoid Android 3.10 and 3.15 and ICJ422
Is that the correct version?

I've tried the above but it gives the same exact error. as soon as the systems has started up it gives: "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" when i press ok there is a second error about messages but i'm not able to read this since the first message will pop up again.
should I start to get worried by now?

the ROM takes an hour to boot on average and won´t let me make any calls. besides the settings menu will crash as soon as I try to open anything.

Problem with twrp, Lots of fail to flash

Lately I'm getting a lot of fail to flash in tarp recovery, the latest one for flo.
I have nothing spécial on it , only plain stock rooted.
Sometimes when i want to try another ROM or whatever that needs to be flashed in recovery I get a fail to flash.
I don't know why, any advice?

What is the specific error you encounter?
Wipe cache, dalvic, data, and system. Then back out to main menu. Go to reboot, recovery. When it prompts you to root, click not now. When it re boots into recovery, flash away.

I too find that when I try to flash update from 4.3 to 4.4.2 using twrp, it fails.
Is there no way to do it without wiping my data? That would be a pain!

I'm not sure how to update twrp. Will open its recovery screen and see if it has an update option.
