I have been using an old rom for months now with no problems. I decided that I would unroot my phone and get all new updates from Sprint and re-root. I used Revolutionary to root had some problems finally got full root. Here are where my problems start. First I tried MikG v3.00 for some reason it got caught in boot loop cleared cach still boot loop. Then I tried Sprint Lovers everything seem to be fine wiped and clear cach flashed rom. Loaded like normal and splash screen goes into home screen show signal stregth and battery strength but at that point that is it. Cannot access phone. I was smart enough to backup before I started this process so I can go back to what worked but I want a change. Can anybody help me!!
Go read my guide, bro. It's for people right after they get rooted. Click the link in my signature
Shot in the dark, but what recovery are you useing

First, you should NOT have unrooted. There is nothing from Sprint that is not in a custom ROM.
Next, when you flash a new ROM, you MUST wipe evrything on the wipe screen except SDCard. Then run VR Superwipe zip. Then flash the ROM.

You didn't WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET. That's your problem right there.
Choose wipe data/factory reset like I said three times and it will boot right up.

You have to install the amon ra style recovery [in the dev section]. I haven't used it yet, but you may have to be on the latest CWM recovery, because I don't know if the style recovery uses the older version of CWM recovery, since they changed.
Radios, hboot etc can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485 if needed

I dont know anything about tiamat but...did you wipe dalvik and cache? are you sure the kernel is for gingerbread and not froyo? Have you done a complete wipe?
Swyped from my cyanogenized and gingerbreaded EVO

Get rid of ClockWorkMod and flash amon RA v2.3. You can get it from
http://files.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=amon_ra/RECOVERY/&file=PC36IMG.zip
Afterwards, wipe everything in the wipe menu EXCEPT the SD card itself. Do it twice for good measure. After that, flash your rom.

Try flashing the rom, let it boot, go back into recovery, then flash the kernel.
sorry none of them work. when i switch over to amon ra recovery didnt work too. i also did a backup on amon ra recovery too. it still couldnt restore using amon ra so i try flash another rom. and now it wont boot up it gets stuck on the bootscreen. so now i have to go back to bootloader and reinstall using img. maybe the kernel that im trying to flash it is probably a corrupt file.
Hello, just checking to see if anyone can help, everytime I try to install a new rom it says that it installes but then when I reboot it boot loops after the htc evo 4g screen. I have used clockwork recovery and also used ra-supersonic-v2.3. The only thing I can install is my nandroid that I have from a previous rom. The new update wont boot either. If any one can help please let me know.
Try wiping everything and then flash the rom. And dont flash two zips at yhe same time.

I have also used a format all.zip, nothing. everytime i wipe everything multipule times it does the same. Only the nandroid works no other roms will. Please help

I have completely powered off the phone and rebooted, but when the phone reboots you can see the notification bar and my wallpaper but that's it, the device is completely unresponsive. Calls come in but no way to answer them Any ideas?

Boot into recovery and select wipe. That's assuming you're using Amon Ra recovery. If you're using CWM for some reason then boot into recovery and then select wipe then wipe cache, then go back, then go into advanced and wipe dalvik.

Im running Amon Ra and i just completed those steps and rebooted, still same issue.
The only change that was made to the system was I uninstalled Slacker Radio last evening.
What launcher are you using ? Sorry for the long wait. I can't believe nobody else has tried to help you. If that didn't help then my next suggestion would be to just backup everything with the app of your choice then re-flash the rom. I like to try to fix the problem before I just re-flash though, just in case it happens again then you know how to fix it.
Hello. I just switched my recovery to TWRP and i wiped my cache/ dalvik/ factory reset my phone, in preparation to flash some ROMs. So i tried flashing several ROMs and they either ended up failing or it claims to be successful and when i try to boot up it bootloops the htc splash screen. So i'm stuck on recovery since I can't even boot into a ROM. I need help!! I have S-On and i'm unlocked.
It seems like TWRP has always been wonky on the Evo. It was even bricking them on version 2.1 I think. My advice would betoswitch to the smelkus mod version of Amon RA. It has never done me wrong.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
I never had an issue when I used to run TWRP 1.0. Having said that, I've been running Smelkus recently and haven't looked back. You might try switching recoveries and running the superwipe function and wiping the Dalvik cache in Smelkus before and after you flash a ROM and see if that clears things up. You can do a search on XDA for Smelkus recovery to find the OP and download link.
Just curious, though. What ROM are you trying to flash?

I've tried several ROMs like Nitrous, Blackbean, Team Dirt's ICS 4.0.4 ROM and the RemICS ROM, DigitalKarma, MokeeOS, and Holo. I just finished switching recoveries so everything should work.

I'm not sure. I just bought my sdcard 3 months ago. Is there a way to check? But anyway, this thread is done.

If your not sure. Then it ain't. Go here to see how to Partition your SD Card. Most Roms have A2SD baked in and not having your card partition will cause issues.
