I know this is a tall order but I want to know if the SIM can be access?
Sprint is going on embedded SIM for its world phones makes it hard to use your Sprint phone with a local SIM when traveling.
Will someone open the phone to find where the SIM is located?
Nothing on iFix so far

I need to know, if possible, how to unlock the sim side of the T-mobile Shadow, in order to use At&t's sim cards.
-Thanks
Ive tried searching, can anyone point me to a method to SIM unlock a Tmobile Shadow. I dont need to flash the OS just yet I just want to take an out of the box phone and use it with any carrier
Thanks.
call tmobile and ask them to give you the code. this is always the easiest way
Might be the easiest but you need 6 months service and tmobile to begin with...so forgoing those two things how else can you do it

Hi all. I bought a used SX66 without a SIM card. It works great but I want to be able to use it as a phone, email, internet, etc. It is still locked to the Cingular/AT&T network, which is fine. I have a current AT&T account with a Treo 750. But when I put that SIM card in the SX66 it doesn't work. Is that because of the newer 3G SIM card? Everytime I ask the knuckleheads at the retail stores I get a different answer...variations on "yes, you can do it" to "it's not possible with that old phone".
So is it possible to resurrect this as a phone? And if so, do I have to get my hands on an old non-3G SIM? And then how do I get my account/phone # info on that SIM? Ugh.
Thanks.
I put in my new 3G sim and it worked fine. I had some trouble with it not recognizing it, but it turned out it was just a little loose inside the SIM holder. Im not sure why your BA doesn't like the SIM.
Go to the Mall to buy one!
Dear all
I bought a phone which is SHARP SOFTBANK SH934 from Japan. The problem is when i bring back to my country - Malaysia. I notice that this phone cannot detect the network right after i changed to the local SIM card.
I have search through the websites and videos. Most of them are use another sim card with a chip on it that you attach to your GSM sim card and insert into the phone. It's called either a 'Hypersim' or a 'Turbosim'. But this thing is costly.
Does anyone know the another way to settle this problem?
Very much appreciate!!
does anyone know?
hope to get help deeply..
has anyone done a teardown of the Sprint Galaxy S3? I wonder because I know they embed SIM cards, and want to know about if the plastic inside were cut, could one conceivably remove the SIM card and install a hack/update/ROM to allow it to accept a local pre-paid foreign GSM SIM card? Also, if one managed to get to the SIM card, would removing it make it inoperable even if it were put back?
I also wonder if anyone knows how identical the S/T/VZ Galaxies really are. I know Verizon is releasing an OTA update which will allow people to take their GS3s overseas, and I strongly believe Sprint should do the same. I've even sent Sprint PR people emails (addresses I got from seekingalpha.com news release articles).
Hello All,
I am traveling to Taiwan for several weeks. I would like to obtain a local sim card when I am there, and use it in my Verizon HTC One (M8). In the past, I would call Verizon and obtain the "unlock" code to allow me to roam on foreign systems. Must I do the same with the HTC One (M8) A while ago, in my random internet searching, I thought I saw something that said the M8 is a worked phone, and need not be unlocked to use a foreign sim. Just want to make sure I take care of what needs to be done before I find myself in a foreign land without phone service.
Thanks

If phone is unlocked it should also work with SIM card from another local (US) operator. This means you can double check this by inserting a friends SIM card from a different operator than the one you are using. Remember to change APN when testing data connection.

There is no such thing where a "certain" type of phone need not be SIM unlocked. It up to the carrier, and the AT&T and T-Mobile versions at least are SIM locked.
Although, I think (not certain) I saw someone here post that their Verizon version wasn't SIM locked? So the answer isn't clear.
EDIT: Just did a quick search, and it appears in fact the Verizon comes SIM unlocked out of the box:

But apparently, the only M8 variant (of the "Big 4") that is unlocked out of the box:
