[APP]GoneMAD Music Player - HTC Wildfire S

In endless search for the best music app around I stumbled upon this kinda new player in this area - GoneMAD Music Player (a.k.a. GMMP)
It supports lots of audio formats and have some cool stuff like gapless playback, replayGain support, crossfade, built in equalizer with 3 quality settings, preamp, DSP limiter with adjustable attack/release (i like this), lots of skins and, have to admit, it has pretty cool sound output and quality.
I'm still testing it but so far i like what i see (and hear) and it's sure worth to try since there is 14-day fully functional trial period.
Bellow is link to the app on GooglePlay and some screenshots.

Hi, developer here. Feel free to post suggestions / comments over on our forums. Most reasonable requests typically get added in one of the next few updates.

I have everything in UberMusic w/ wp7 skin and DSP Manager. I don't need more. But this app seems to be good as well.

I really enjoy the Android Music Player JRTStudio

Which is the best audio player for WM - WITH BEST AUDIO QUALITY!!!!

Hi
Im looking for a audio player which has the best audio quality- please suggest something!!
I basically need an audio player which plays mp3 has a lot of functions(EQ, bass boost etc.) and has the best audio quality!!!
I need it because I have a "kicka**" sound system from "Magnat" at home and I want to reach its full potential, of more than 2000 wats from my Touch HD & my phone is being used as a media center in a lot of parties, cuz I have the biggest music libary on my phone!!!!!!
the inbuilt music player in tf3d is good. it has an equaliser but no volume control if you choose to use it, but then you could control the volume which your music system.
the inbuilt music player is ****.
try pocketplayer or mortplayer. these are really professional players.
but dont expect huge differences in sound output, they will be the same. it depends on what you set in the equalizers..
have you tried lcg jukebox .... !!! try it
There is Phantasm Music Player (40iPlay), but it is hard to buy it because of the paranoid policy of its author.
Using 3rd party players you cannot use remote controls on headsets (for example I'm using Nokia BH-503 with my HD). Am I right?
External controls seems fine... so far

Not true really, as I use Nitrogen (audio/music player) and it works fine with both my SE MBW-150 and HBH220 Bluetooth adapter. Both needing a little messing with, but allows me to choose next track, pause and play.
I'd would prefer not to use an additional music player, because it always needs messing around with to get fully working with all these random toys, but the inbuilt music player, including WM6.5 media player all suck and no easy to just select a folder and play all at random, which is all I want ever really.
(any suggestions would be nice to know)

PocketPlayer works with bluetooth control (A2DP) since version 3.71.
Mortplayer does not support it thanks to new Manila.
Blame HTC, they introduced some fu**ing "tweak" so that only the manila Player has access to the bluetooth control. Pocketplayer can do it because they reverse engineered the problem.
Just loosing your time
Sorry but you are just loosing your time...
I have spent some time trying to find a solution and I am back to my Ipod to drive my Home sound system (Magnat by the way ).
Your problem has nothing to do with the Software you will use but is has to do with the hardware limitations of these little WM device.
The best sound system will always require the best source as poor dynamic range, frequency response or noise level are hidden by poor sound systems but amplified by top quality ones.
Not convinced?
Just have a look, what you will read will confirm what you hear !

Maybe one day we will have a real all-in-one device. But not today !

I also have bh-503 -- it worked with my old ipaq 1940 with all players - so it has to be manila bug, but I havent noticed it!!!

Before the HD I had Nokia 5610, with the "dedicated sound chip" , I can hear a big differnece beetween the two-- HD - louder & more bass
so the HD is already an improvement!!!
But still some bad things can be covered with good software and sound system!!!!
BTW-- Magnat - ROCKS!!!! 800W subwoofer & some more speakers with more than 2000 wats of power can bring your whole house down!!!!!
player
Hi, the HD doesnt have great sound quality full stop i am afraid, I would say dont worry too much about which player, find one that you find comfortable to use, some are too complex non finger friendly menus for instance. All players have decent Eq's and so you should be able to get the best out of the HD with any player.
hope this helps.

You can do this with Core Player if you disable scan card at start up option and select anything from your storage card rather than from a library. Sound quality better than my Ipod IMO. It has a preamp option.

mortplayer is ****tttt and very complicated to use and too slow with hd and has issues with uninstalling and pocket player is slow on HD as well stick to media player and htc touch flo included player they do the job and hell yaaaa there will be no difference in the sound output so why a third party and ram issues stick to original with this and if you are looking for a light player easy to use try s2p iplayer it looks good and it works great but i did uninstall it and i do use htc included player better than anything.
Pure and simple
@custardo01 - Thanks! I actually use Core player already, but mainly for video playback only, as I the GUi so unfriendly... it's an ugly package, but I guess it works well. However Nitrogen feels most friendly to me right now and easy to use when cycling on the London roads.
In regards to the sound quality, I actually think the quality of the HTC Touch HD is pretty dam good. I've tried various portable toys from dedicated portable audio players, mobile phone and those nasty Apple products, but so far it's not bad at all.
For sure it not ground breaking and would prefer the audio quality that the Sony Ericsson P and X series have, but with good pairing via earphones with low ohm requirements, it's close to lowless quality.
Of course ALL of this is pointless if you simply are only listening to Radio signals, standard Mp3 or basic AAC files. I do a huge amount of audio work, both musically, soundtrack and folly so mainly use wav and any other random stuff is always 320kbps Mp3's ...until I can get Mp3HD to work etc
AAC is pretty good when pushed to the maximum, but I'm to lazy to change back to AAC files after years or being on Mp3's, OGG and mainly multi-channel DTS & DD via WAV.
Any EQ system on almost ANY software is always a BAD thing!
Hardware EQ'ing is another thing altogether and even then is still a bad thing (usually). If it sounds bad, it always will do and using an EQ to improve it, I guess I'm just that type of person that disagree's with EQ'ing because you loose what it really was meant to be and not what it is anymore.
IMO: Audio & Visual should be played pure, flat and as is it was created.
Better music player... anyone?

All probably very true, but when your using WM6.5 and not TF3D anymore, you need a good player once again, because of course the WMP is NOT an option.
I'd recommended Nitrogen any day, but still looking for somethin better, nicer and possibly simplier. I liked the TF3D audio player when I was using the basic ROM and Dutty's amazing ROM's but since I've moved over to WM6.5 not much choice... right?
Is their a way to access the TF3D via WM6.5 without actually having the TF3D today page open too?

It is not ugly if you use a skin to cover it up. Search for the DiamondVGA Core Player skin. I have it here if you need it. Forget bluetooth you miss out on so much quality IMO. You will see me on a Black Ridgeback in the London streets with the stock wired headphones in - bald bloke with glasses

LMAO ...I'm on Ridgeback MX4 (modded) travelling from East London to where ever I need be for post-production editing work etc.
Yeah, I gave up on SE Bluetooth adapter when I got my HTC Touch HD as the quality just wasn't right at all and as you say, wired in is still best. I'm currently using Denon AHC551's earphones until they get worn out and need replacing (soon).
I only really use the adapter for random things and I think the Mrs gets more use out of it now when she's out jogging. She's using my old SE P1 and Bluetooth ADP2 seems to sound so much better through them... strange!?
Would the DiamondVGA skin you are suggesting work OK on a HTC Touch HD?
I use S2P Best audio player IMHO. Combined with HTC Audio Booster or SRS WOW Audio of course.
I have got TF3D player, WMP, coreplayer, S2P, pocket player and nitrogen.
To be honest:
Coreplayer is the worst.
Nitrogen is the best, closest to the ordinary MP3 player, but it is not so user friendly as the playlist is not so good.
Pocket player has a lot of eq. setting, but it does not help much.
One important thing is to reduce the stutter and it can be cured by 1.57 HKG ROM or the patch from Diamond. But Diamond patch may drain your battery in a horrible rate, you should better upgrade your ROM.

Music player equalizer?

Hi, is their a equalizer in the music app on this phone? i cannot seem to find it
No there isn't unfortunately this is one of the things android has been lacking for a long time.
Sounds like osmething i can look into them myself. Any third party music players that have built in equalizers?
Nothing yet.
It's incredible to have this advanced OS, and this marketplace with 1000's of programs, but no one music player, which has equializer....
Is this an OS limitation, too hard to implement, or just simply noone had this idea yet??
By the way, I'm ready to donate to anyone who comes up with a working and good EQ for the Desire...
Astro Player Beta, BoomBoxoid both have EQs?
No experience with them, might be worth a look though?
i tired both this morning.. astro seems very basic.. no album art etc.. but works and the equaliser has an implact..
so does Boomboxiid but its almost to slick... caused my phone to lock up a few times and the player isnt that responsive so i uninstalled it.. stil though at least proves an equaliser is possible..

Any new music players with good equalisers?
A standalone EQ app (or widget) would be better than a player with eq built in.
Reason I say this is because, it could then be applied to any app you use audio via headphones or line out, rather than only working on the audio player.
say you use spotify, as well as a standalone mp3 player app. Would be good if you could use the EQ on both...

Best music & Video player app till samsung galaxy S?

Best video player I've used by far is Act 1 - my review here: http://www.theandroidappreviewer.com/app-reviews/act-1-video-player-app-review/
It's only recent, but Lithium is by far the best player I've used.
The interface is very professional with great gestural control, 4 widget sizes, automatic album art downloader, custom playlists, replacement lockscreen when music is playing, etc.
But I like it best for the interface. =)

Yeah I had a word with the dev and he said that he may come up with a paypal version but he does not want to right now 'coz of licensing issues.
He said and I quote.
Regarding Paypal, I didn't yet create an account. But then you need to manage the release of updates (need a license key etc). Which might require quite some DEV.
But will think about it in the long term.
Thks again for the support.

There is no player that does PROPER gapless playback for mp3...
Even .ogg and .flac files all produce a statick click when the next track begins. Is this a 'feature' of the Galaxy in general?

I totally agree!! I love Lithium. I'm trying this new one now called "ttpod" which downloads lyrics and lets you display them over top of all apps. Get a copy and turn off karoke mode if the lyrics over top annoy you . Best movie player I would say is mVideoplayer . I just havn't found anything else like it (paid or otherwise)

Have you tried Lithium ? settings for it but I really couldn't care about gapless play
I've just tried mvideoplayer without success, but I still can't seem to find a (free) video player that will play (or even acknowledge) my .mpg videos!
I'm not interested in subtitles or any other format apart from .mpg
Any suggestions?
Maybe winamp or realplayer?

For audio either winamp or power amp for video its either the stock player from SGS or mVideo player, I didnt include rockplayer on the list as it has issues with a lo of my HD anime files.

Did you actually read my question EarlZ ?
The best music player has to be powerAMP. And the best video player is in my opinion the stock player, it's slick and clean and plays many kind of videofiles flawlessly like MKV.
Personally I think the stock music player is great. Equaliser, effects, and the disc view is pretty cool. As well as controls on the lockscreen (only when using glass lock) and app drawer.
Have yet to see a 3rd party one that makes me want to switch.
For video mVideoPlayer is my favourite. It lacks the 5.1 sound option from the stock player though.
I have yet to find a music player that can sort by album artist (not artist) and provides an output selection of bluetooth or phone.
Really frustrating that such basic features don't exist.

PowerAMP... AWESOME!

if you want an awesome music app, try PowerAMP... impressive!! it detects when u insert headphones and auto resumes your last tune, even if the app was closed! Also flawless gapless play back!
Also peeps, your samsung supplied headphones have a button on the mic for pausing/answering your calls, but hold the button and it will skip track!! It can also be configured for double/triple presses for next/previous track!!
It works with DSP Manager alongside its own full featured EQ...
The best music app i've come across!
Dickie
Yep, I think most of us who have tried PowerAMP are converts. I got the trial version several months ago, paid for the full app after about 7 minutes (once Master of Puppets had finished playing from memory). Best thing about the EQ is the preamp, which increases output to headphones a reasonable amount.
The has been the music application I've used since it was released and the purchased it once it came on the market.
yeah, you couldn't ask for more from a player really eh!! ive used it for a while now, but thought i'd throw it up as ive not really seen a mention of it but a few people complaining about lack of controls on the mic and incompatabilities with other/older ear phones with track skip etc...
nice solution!
Dickie
best music player there is : ) makes my shure earphones sound sexy. also love the widgets it has! had bought it on galaxy s a while back.
Does this use alot of battery? I just always notice it in the top 3 of my battery usage stats (the default one), even though I don't have it running (does it have some background processes running?)
PowerAMP and DSP manager run in tandem with each other is pure bliss to my ears. My headphones and car really appreciate it also :-D
Poweramp is great and doesnt use any/much battery when running. Added bonus is you can pay with paypal off there website.
Fully agreed, best player on the market!

Agree with what has been said, PowerAMP is brilliant and the only player that recognised all of my album art and the id3 tags on all of my file types.
I got this back in my HTC Desire days. It is hands down the best music player Android has to offer and well worth the purchase. I wouldn't be surprised to see this snapped up and built into Android at some point!
really nice compared to the other music players around even with dsp manager.

Yes, Power Amp is absolutely great.
I've got much punchier bass and slightly louder volume in general now that I've installed DSP manager - it's a tiny download too, Rooster - go for it!
i did like PowerAmp, but it did figure high up on my power list. I'm in two minds whether to buy the full version.

Best music player with flac support

Hi,
I was using Winamp but it doesn't have FLAC support. I've tried downloading LePlayer and Meridian, which both claim to have FLAC support, but it doesn't find any of the FLAC files in my sdcard. I can open FLAC files in ES File Explorer and choose Meridian and it'll play, but I'd like something that detects them automatically.
Thanks.
CM7 has FLAC support
I'm using Virtuous Sense, not CM7.
I started using the beta of GoneMad Media Player. It seems to be pretty good, and have some great features, .flac support as well.
Thanks. Does it discover flac files automatically?
goister: I have a burning question for you.
Obviously if you care enough to listen to .flac files you must be an audiophile of some sort. And the thing that bothered me is that my 5 year old Samsung YP-P2 MP3 player with DNSE 2.0 sounds SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than any of the new phones, even with their Beat Mod crap.
I was thinking, is there any app or anything you can do to the phone that will make it produce quality playback?
Sorry, can't help you there. I suppose a headphone amp would help, but I'm not an audiophile anymore. I used to be (hence the flac files) but now I just enjoy the music as much as I can on my phone and a Sennheiser C300.
I don't think there's much you can do though, as phones are made with very tight tolerances in size and integration, so usually corners are cut in audio performance since most people can't tell the difference.
ATM, I am downloading Neutron Music Player. From the description, it seems to be good. Will test and let you know.
=O
It's pretty good!
If you don't wanna buy it, just pm me =P
EDIT: Still not as good as my Samsung player, but better than all the other's i tried.
Edit 2: I failed to press menu. Once I did, they had soooooo much options to fiddle with. I ended up tweaking the settings for like half an hour and got my phone on par with my mp3 player!
Super good! Highly recommend!
Does Neutron automatically discover flac and other non mp3 audio files?
no clue, but on their main site it lists like 30 different formats lol.
And Flac was one of em.
How about Andless?
