[Q] jelly bean original - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

new on the block with galaxy SIII from Rogers.
Is there any official JB out flashable? Im interested in stock only.

Look under original android development. All the tpuchwiz jellybean ROMs are located in there. As for an official its not yet released. Rogers gets 4.1 in late November.

Amazing rom. It's 4.1.1 JB with stock samsung stuff. It's not official but it might as well be.

Yea I saw that one but the wifi tethering isn't working .

I'm glad that Rogers is finally releasing it, but wonder if it's going to really make that much of a difference with the DG M6 that I'm running now. Rogers puts a lot of bloat on their releases.

Is anybody cooking up a JB Rom with the Official Leak?

Im looking a the top devs and non has updated their roms with the official release that leaked a few days ago. Anybody know when a rom based on that leak will be available?
Might help if you actually searched.

I did search but this rom has many issues...wanted to see if there were any others.
Plus it has an Sever error 500 if you try to download
Also this is a bonestock, it's not a custom rom, its the stock image, bloated and with bell crap in there.
Smart guy is making one in development

What carrier?
tmobile
No official jelly bean yet for tmobile. If you want jelly bean then you have to install custom rom. That involves rooting, installing a custom recovery and flashing.
You have to answer a few questions before you can get a proper answer. What you need to do is give the correct name of your current device, if its the Galaxy Nexus or the Galaxy S3. After that, you would need to let us know the carrier to be directed to the correct part of these forums.

Ok confused... LK8 vs. Ma5?

Allright guys I have rooted every android phone I have had. I have never felt as lost as I do right now. I was following a thread that was a stock rooted Samsung ROM based off LJC which I installed when I rooted. Suddenly that thread is MIA. I now see tons of posts about Ma5 and LK8 but almost no ROMs built off LJC.
First questions wth is Ma5?
Second If I originally did a stock update to LJC do I really need whatever is in Ma5?
Third from what I understand there has been no official release of the LK8 software update correct?
Finally why would I want to update to LK8/Ma5?
Thanks so much,
Adan
Re: Ok confused... LK8 vs. MAC?
Not sure where you saw mac but MA5 is the most recent leak released by sextape and garwynn has posted one clicks. I've updated each time a release is posted and have been happy with the improvements over the previous. The most recent and most important update to MA5 was the exynos abuse exploit fix. There are several ROM's in the dev thread based off of LJC.
Hope this helped a bit.

Re: Ok confused... LK8 vs. MAC?
LK8 and MA5 are leaked buids of android 4.1.2 by Samsung. LCJ is the latest official build released by Samsung and Sprint. LCJ is android version 4.1.1. Its up to you if you want to give this leaked builds a try. They include new features but may have small bugs. Personally I flashed MA5 and its workings great for me, better than LK8.

Thanks guys i wanted to make sure i wasnt missing a update. I had a bad run in with leaked software awhile back and havent really wanted to try any since. You are saying the Ma5 leak is better is there any big differences worth jumping on?
Thanks again,
Adan
I'm just a flash junkie who likes to be up to date and like the fact that this leak fixes the exploit I mentioned. Try for yourself and see. Garwynn has posted several optional oc's and you can always revert back to sammy's official ljc.

I can personally say that data speeds are faster with ma5. Also, if you are into benchmarks and such, I scored over 7000 with quadrant running danwebbs sourced ma5 stock rom.

apparently ma5 has google wallet working without hacking...

All of this sounds awesome and all, but what kind of errors are there going to be if flashing back to LJC?

Read the MA5 thread in dev and you can find out
I like to break stuff!
Running stock ljc rooted. I can just run the update.zip without a data loss can't I? Would rather not start from scratch.

In twrp, I cleared system, flashed modem. Cleared cache and dalvik, flashed ma5 rom, cache again, flashed modem again, caches again, reboot.
No data or app loss.
Everyone says do a full wipe but I came from stock deodexed ljc... no point to full wipe plus I had a nandroid... :/
Worked fine.
Pretty sure you can flash the modem no problem... just clear cache and dalvik after.

I just want the modem. Is the ma5 modem compatible with ljc?

As far as I know, it works brilliantly on both ljc and lk8.

MA5 with the Perseus alpha32 kernel is rock-solid and FAST. I get consistent 7000-7200 scores with Quadrant, and Google Wallet works flawlessly on this firmware/modem/ROM release. Now, if Sprint would just deliver the LTE tower I have on backorder...

I'm been using task650's rom for 4 months with rogers already. No problems at all. I'd recommend trying it.

Hi!
Generally speaking, you will not have any problem using an AT&T ROM in your Canadian SGSIII. Because the AT&T variant and the Rogers/Bell/Telus variant are identical, you can use any of the ROMs made for them on both variants.
The majority of Touchwiz-based ROMs are based on AT&T. However, you can find some ROMs that are based on Canadian stock ROMs. Try searching for VLDLK4-based ROMs (instead of VLDLK3, which is AT&T). Examples of them are (I might not have listed all of them):
- mrRobinson's stock rooted ROM
- Dandroid
- i747z
- I747MVLDLK4_DJJOHNNYBLAZE_MODV1
- Bertiespeed
- seeARMS
- NexusMOD
- Bacon-JB
- ...
... Gotcha... Just loving the options and now.... Flashy flashy.... Thanks for all the help and direction... If I could give 1000 "thanks ".. I would

[android v poll]

system v poll
I thought I would be nice for developers to have a poll to see which version of android most s3 users run.
so they can see what is best for developing new mods, It is just a idea please let me know what you think :good:
4.1.2 and 4.2.2 what else could it possibly be?

I mean, at least in logical, most used ROM is latest one or two 4.1.2 firmware, and newer 4.2.2, because, mostly I think in this forum who were running leaked 4.2.1 will update it to 4.2.2

there is no best or worst , always personal perception.
If you want to measure the Android versions, you maybe should also include the firmware versions. Nevertheless most devs upgrade their ROMs to the latest firmware versions anyway, be it 4.1.2 or 4.2.2.
I am running Liquid 4.2.2

yes, i agree with you. thats my personal perception. before this i only used stock 4.1.2, just after the leak was out, i flashed and find this 4.2.2 rom is very smooth compare with stock 4.1.2.
now i used custom 4.2.2 sotmax beta 5.
Miui note 2 edition...very smooth with sammy camera multiwindow and lot of good things

Devs are hardly likely to read Themes and Apps for a what rom build poll .
Devs build what they decide and users follow .
Poll like this is rapidly out of date with new builds .
