Change Button Colors

Hello all;
I just saw the pictures of the new HTC Rezound. It looks like, in the pictures at least, that the LED buttons (home, menu, back, and search) are red. I think that looks really god and would like to know if there is any way to get the LED buttons on the Inc 2 red? Is this even possible or would I have to totally take apart the phone and swap out the white LEDs with red ones? Sorry if this has been answered before. I couldn't find any threads like this.
I am running an AlphaRevX rooted Inc 2
CyanogenMOD 7.1.0.1
Android version 2.3.7

I'd think you would have to take it apart, since these are leds not like a screen. I was hoping something could come of it for our phone too. I love the RED!!!

It's a good. Just thought I'd help a helpful person. I'd love to change the color of the softkeys as well though I think that red is sexy as all get out.

If anyone wants to rip the phone apart. You could probably place a red film over the lights. Not sure though just a brain fart.

I thought the same thing. I did this with the gauges in my car a long time ago and made them blue without having to replace any leds. Not sure if there would be enough room behind the glass to add film tho. I really don't see anyone trying this unless they are already replacing a screen.

The red is pretty nice, but this would have to be a hardware change, not software. I'd guess it's white LEDs lighting the bottom buttons, good luck desoldering and soldering new extremely tiny LEDs to the phones motherboard and getting the right resistance to maintain the correct voltage - it's not gonna happen.

Im not 100% sure they're leds. I just got the phone yesterday and while playing with it i noticed that the buttons rotate as you rotate the phone. I.e. if in portrait mode the home is facing with the roof up and if in the landscape mode the house (and all the other buttons) changes so that the roof is facing up again.
Which got me thinking that it has to be a separate screen or a continuation of the original screen. I shined a light at an angle at that part and noticed that theres a cutout as wide as the screen and about a cm high.
It has to be more than LEDs, LEDs dont change direction. But I dont know if the color can be changed.
***EDIT*** I looked up some videos which show the disassembly process and it seems that its not a screen. and even if you wanted to add a film over it, you might run into problems when you take off the digitizer since it needs to be heated to get under it.

Is this line on my screen normal?

I've noticed a couple of long lines on my Galaxy Nexus and am wondering if my screen is defective. There is a line going down the the screen on the upper right to the right of top stories and one going from left to right between Sacramento and the temperature.

If its a defect with the screen, it doesn't show up in a screenshot....
A screenshot shows what's being sent to the screen, not what the screen eventually shows.

We don't know because we can't see it with a screenshot! Everything in these screenshots is 100% normal.
D'oh.... take a picture of the screen on with another camera. that's the only way we can see wtf you're talking about...

The line going left to right between Sacramento and the temperature is part of the design (clearly, because it shows up in the screenshot and I have the same look on my phone). There's no line up top, at least not the one separating the tabs lol. Since the screenshot you had uploaded before had that area circled, I'm guessing that there's something wrong with your display there.

Why is this even on page 2.
OP, do YOU see this line issue in the screenshot?
If it's yes, then nothing's wrong with your screen.
If it's no, then there's something wrong with your screen.

Ok here's another screenshot with a gray screen with brightness set to 100%. I want to know if this is normal with these types of screens.

Are you referring to the horizontal banding (normal)? If not, I don't see anything abnormal.

PLEASE. READ. READ. READ.
If there is a problem with YOUR screen, WE cannot SEE it in a screenshot. A screenshot does not show US defects in YOUR screen. Simply taking a screenshot, and putting on your own computer next to the same image on your actual phone will tell you right away if it's your phone or not.... Why won't you just listen...

Alright I have banding and read on some forums that a replacement fixes the issue. Does anyone know how long is the turnaround time for repairs?

That banding is normal. There is nothing wrong with your screen. If you did have a screen issue it won't show up in a screen shot anyways, you're just capturing screen input.

Ok well I think my screen is defective because I looked at the thread showing pictures of the GN screen and what's normal and what's not and the attached picture is what I'm seeing on my screen (transparent line) and the poster said that is not normal.

Yeah... you've got some vertical banding. That's not a unique problem you have, as many others users get it as well. Not much you can do except for get a replacement screen or phone and pray the new one doesn't have it. But in most cases, you're going to have the banding on low brightness on the Gnex.

Mercury color screen protector... Pics

Saw this on amazon for 8 bucks so I ordered one. Fits pretty good. Comes in a different bunch of different colors. I got the yellow one. What do u guys think? The case is a sgp neo hybrid

Touch feels good. Still responsive to touch. However it takes a bit of brightness.. Not big deal.

you can see the big sticky label on front stating the curved edge, you should see it on the phone too.

The standard package comes with two protector(one colour and clear), the ebay seller is giving crap, if he says include 1 free, he should provide it himself, the package has two, its not free, this is mercury offerring.

but ya I figured this would happen as soon as I purchased the blue one, "I bet the black one will be a month away, oh well" lets see how many people all of a sudden have a flaw in their screen or a creek they are super annoyed with.

unless the black one is different in some way, who cares. The blue one is cooler and much more unique. Everybody has either a Black or White phone these days, and white is quickly becoming the color of choice.... I like my "Steel Blue"....

On another note: I got the white because I had a black S2 and it was so bland so I put a white skin sticker on it to liven it up a bit. Then it started peeling :-/

About that sticker thing? What kind was it? .. I was thinking about doing the ghost Armor but I think It only covers the back of the phone? but that carbon fiber white would look slick with the marble white have yu ever checked that out?

Doesn't look like it has the brushed aluminum look...its what makes this phone so elegant and have that premium feeling.

Yeah, thats how it is all the time on my Galaxy nexus too,. I always have like 20% brightness and when you are in a dark room, you see the lines all the time and its annoying.
i don't know about nexus 4, Google has a bad track record of good displays. and not accurate color temperatures.

When I first got my gnex I kept the brightness really low. Then I thought to myself, "I bought a nice phone; it has a REALLY nice screen when the brightness is turned up all the way...why keep it low?".
Since then it's on FULL brightness and I've never looked back! Takes a couple of days for you to get used to the brightness though :^) (Yes I know it decreases battery life but it's worth it -- give it a try).

The Lines become much more obvious in this month
I always use only 10% brightness, hope the oled's decay slower
but the finally results is so disappointed

My Verizon CDMA galaxy nexus has same screen problem like yours. I think Samsung's amoled is not a mature product. My next mobile phone's screen must not be amoled.

Yeah, every app I run that gives me a plain white screen to look at really brings out the flaws in this device.
I have 20/15 vision, and have NEVER noticed this. If you try hard enough, you will find flaws in everything you come into contact with. Good luck with your search for the perfect phone.

People don't have the screen on 100%? Why? Every phone I have ever had has been on full brightness.

I thought auto was just as bad since it's switching between different brightness levels.

Seriously! Anything more than 20% on my phone is blindingly bright and gives me headaches. I used to always run the lowest brightness setting, but now I just use auto.

Mine is always on 50% and I'm using a dark theme. It looks pretty good.

No problem when it display white color?

I keep mine at a solid 50% brightness, seems to work for most situations and also looks great. I've also tweaked the colors slightly to change it from a warm image to a cool image.
No flaws on white screens at all, around 8 months of ownership.
