[Q] CWM 6, restore problems on mounting internal SD-card - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I ended in a semi-brick problem :crying:, starting my n7100 Note 2 after flashing the ALJ1 stock Firmware with Odin.
A. How did I configured Odin before starting:
- PDA with N7100XXALJ1_N7100PHNALJ1_N7100XXALIH_HOME.tar,
- checked Auto reboot en rest time but ....
- I fear the Nand erase also was checked
B. What was the result ???? Note 2 Starts up but doesn't pass the SAMSUNG logo (hangs).
C. Whats still possible and did I tried already?
1. I do have a CWM backup on the externa SD
2. I still can open in the download mode and use Odin
3. I still can open up in CWM recovery mode 6.0.5 and manage it
D. What did I Try already?
a. I tried restoring from the external SD but cannot pass the mounting of the internat SD (have to wait 20 sec for SDcard to mount but without succes witch results i also can't store rhe data
b.I tried repartioning with the "pit 7100", witch also fails
c. I searched for more than 6 hours for a solution, specified for the note 2, but don't find a shure solution; f.e. [HOW-TO] Unbrick your soft bricked Galaxy S III - xda-developers_php;

[Q] Softbrick Samsung Gio

Hello there,
I have a problem with my samsung gio device. I decided to update the unofficial cyanogenmod, but the install interrupts and aborted.
Now I can boot until the Samsung logo came. An other Forum gave me the hint, that the devica has a softbrick.
They gave me also the hint to the following manual.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1573628
I tried to do this manual, but I dont undersstand what to do in Point 3.
Could anyone help me and try out a step by step manual for me, that I can unbrick my Samsung mobile?
Thanks a lot! :fingers-crossed:
just flash a cwm 5.0.2.8 or a newer one because you use cyanomod rom use ext4 only
download one,put your phone in download mode power menu and volume down togetter.
connect phone with computer
start odin see that phone is recognised
insert the cwm clicking one package and put the package in odin(see odin how to)
flash...

http://androidworld.nl/forum/samsun...to-one-package-firmware-flashen-via-odin.html

How much is your phone's internel partition?
Flash .pit file if you've 16GiB Note 2: http://d-h.st/Dlv
Reboot your phone in download mode by pressing and holding vol. down + menu key and then power key.
Select above pit file from PC Odin under PIT tab and start flashing.
also what rom were you using? sotck 4.3?

I advice you to restore your phone this way:
Go to sammobile download the latest 4.3 rom from your country.(1+ gb file)
download odin 3.09
flash it with ONLY autoreboot and reset time marked.
DON''T! INTERUPT THE FLASHING OR YOU HAVE A DEAD PHONE.
and use an original cable with about 80% battery.
After the flashing process you see this:
A flashing blue light with the samsung logo.
Short time later the light goes out and you can enter your phone to configurate your settings.
In the worst case if the phone hangs at the samsung logo
go into recovery
Wipe data / factory reset
Wipe cache partition
and reboot
Let me know if your interested you can root the phone further (safe).

Here's the detailed steps to install the Stock Firmware for your device:
1. Head to the download page, this is the UNmodified firmware provided ‘as is’ from Samsung/carrier servers.
2. After download is complete, extract the downloaded file and you should get a MD5 file.
3. Enter the download mode form your device [normally by holding the volume up button + home button + power button]
4. Connect your device to your PC.
5. Start Odin.
6. Odin should recognize your device, and you can tell so by seeing that the first slot from the upper left is taken, if not then you need to install a driver for your device. [I personally just download Kies and it automatically download the proper driver for your device]
7. Click on PDA from Odin and browse to the extracted MD5 file.
8. Press Start.
9. Do not unplug your device until the process is fully completed.
10. The phone will reboot and you should see a Pass! on Odin, which means the process was successfully accomplished.
Don't proceed with any step of the past steps unless you fully understand every single one of them, if you have any difficulties understanding anything feel free to ask!

Welcome to the forum! You need to provide more information than you have for anyone to be able to help. What device model and carrier is it? How did you get to the bricked state? Were you flashing any firmware? If so, what? What's the firmware history - Android version etc? Recovering from a brick isn't always a hard thing and we do it all the time. We would, however, need to know more.

Hello, the model is the Samsung Galaxy SIII SGH-I747 and the carrier is AT&T. Well I tried rooting it with Team epic root, it didn't work then I tried to flash the stock rom and that didn't work either. It then was hard bricked.
Look up debrick method =) you'll need a SD card

Please go to the thread below. All the instructions and files you need can be found on the first page. You will need a micro SD card with, at least, 16Gb capacity. Won't work with an 8Gb card.

The debrick card lets the phone boot by simulating the internal workings of the device. To get the phone to start working normally, you would have to work your way up the food chain to a full 4.3 stock firmware restore. It won't work any other way. Normally, you should be able to boot into download/recovery modes as well as system with the debrick card. If it won't boot to download mode, you may need to get a USB jig. Here's what we need to do then ....
1) Download the 4.3 stock restore image from the thread below ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
2) Boot to system with the debrick card and copy the stock restore zip above to your phone's internal storage
3) Power off your phone. Boot into download mode - either with the Volume Down/Power/Home button combo or with a USB jig.
4) Flash custom recovery -TWRP or CWM- via Odin. You can download the Odin flashable *.Tar file for TWRP from the link below ...
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-d2att.tar
5) After successfully flashing custom recovery, remove the battery to avoid rebooting to system, replace the battery and reboot to (custom) recovery with Volume Up/Power/Home buttons
6) Select install and navigate to the stock restore zip you saved earlier. Select this file and swipe to confirm installation. Wait for firmware installation to complete
7) Clear cache/dalvik and reboot to system
Hope this works for you. Good luck!

[Q] Failed to flash ROM, SGW doesn't boot

Hi everybody,
sorry for bothering you, but I think I might need some help.
I tried to flash ParanoidAndroid (first try ever to flash a smartphone) but failed 'somehow'.
Initial steps to create the problem
Initial Status: Gingerbread on a Galaxy W; Pretty old and pretty messed up
Download the update.zip to root the smartphone => Becoming root worked!
Download ParanoidAndroid
Download Clockwork Recovery
Created backups using Titanium Backup as root.
Copied ParanoidAndroid to the GalaxyWs internal sd card (yes, this was my mistake)
Wipe cach partition => It said, it worked, I don't know if it did
Rebooted phone => all fine
Rebooted into recovery mode applied update from SD-Card=> Selected ParanoidAndroid.zip => ErrorMessage (I think it was something like file corrupt, sorry I'm not sure about the specific words, but it sounded like this is no updatefile or this file is not a valid zip file.
Status of the problem
Bootup shows Samsung Logo
Bootup than shows GalaxyW-Screen Logo
Bootup than shows the android recovery symbol OR directly reboots
When trying to open the recovery menu, every second time I get the message "Updating (...) Installing MultiCSC... Can't access /system/csc/DBT/system"
If opening recovery menu works, I can only acces the internal storage of the galaxy to install an update (tried the paranoidandroid several times, it doesn't work)
When plugging in the galaxy w to my USB port, I don't get an USB storage shown on my 2 laptops (1 "Windows 7", 1 "Ubuntu 14.0?" )
neither odin (4.43) nor Heimdall are able to flash any files.
So, simple question, what can I do next?
-I cannot copy clockworkmod to my smartphone
-I don't know if I can easily overwrite the kernel or the bootloader.
I searched the forum but didn't find a clear solution, so sorry if this special configuration was already asked.
Thanks for your help and best regards

Your ROM's download has been cut either by a connection issue or by you, That is why I always have a backup rom in my SD Card. Also For kitkat, make sure you got CWM 6.0.4.5 or higher. Personally i use PhilZ Touch Recovery. It is simple enough for me. And odin recognizes your phone only in download mode. So make sure you go to download mode then plug the phone in. And also make sure while working with odin, unplug all USBs and other phones
Hey MayB4ck,
thank you for the tips, I finally got it running Using Philz Touch Recovery. Works like hell
Best regards
FrankyDroid
