Hello,
The problem is: my phone always FCses when I try to make a picture with flash on. I have the problem with Nik Project X 4.1 and with PACman v14.1, so I don't think it's the ROM. I also know that the problem lies not in the flash-module itself because using a torch-application the flash works just fine, also on extra-bright mode. Stroboscope works too so it can't be the duration of the flash.
I have to note that I once replaced my flash-cover for GPS-issues, and that I maybe damaged a cable down there. That still doesn't explain why it only doesn't work with pictures.
AH, I just tried using Camera Zoom FX on JB, and with that I have no problems. But I really like the HTC Camera app much more. Does anyone know something more about this problem?
Thanks in advance!

hey...i have the same issues...but if i put my device to charger, even 5 minutes...then it works a time...i thinks it's because low battery...if it will be a rom with a lower voltage when the flash occurs, i think it will be no problem
Putting in the charger doesn't help. Also, that doesn't explain why it only happens on stock camera-apps. I do think my battery isn't what it used to be ( it got exposed to a lot of heat,) but other ways of using the flashlight are working. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue...

Try to clear the cache on it the camera app from the menu if that doesn't work push on your camera lens if it fixes it then its hardware .
Well if it happened after you just did an update, its likely that update is the problem. Flash a nandroid from the previous version you were running and see if it's still there.
Try physically pushing the camera in with moderate pressure and see if that helps. Sometimed they come slightly unseated.

The glass on the camera does not have a polarizing filter on it, if that's what you're asking. If it's taking pictures as if it was going through a polarizer then you've got some real weirdness going on with your camera.
Edit: No idea if it's a software or hardware issue, could be either one or both honestly. Can you show some examples of what it's doing?
Well when I entered my cam app the camera looks like I turned the polarize skin on but the ffc is perfectly fine. I've rebooted three times and its still doing it. I haven't flashed anything in about a week it just randomly started doing this... if one more reboot doesn't work I'm gonna try leaving the battery out for an hour or two hopefully that fixes it. I wiped the cam cache and restored default settings. I also tried pressing the cam slightly and that's not the issue. As far as being dislodged or loose that's not the issue. I think its either something inside the cam or just a weird bug in the app itself. Thanks for the tips ill check back in an hour or two with a status update.

Again, rebooting will NOT fix this issue. You need to re-flash a nandroid from before you updated. Or, better yet, flash a stock rom and see if it works in there. Constantly rebooting will not fix this issue, as its either a problem with the cam software, or the hardware. You can easily rule out software by flashing a stock rom.
@sitlet
I didn't flash an update ... plus anyway good news! I left the phone off with battery removed for about 8 hours and now my camera works perfect again! Don't really know what caused it to happen just glad its done with! And hope it doesn't happen again! (Knocks on wood)

i know what your talking about its happened to me before happened to me due to a strong magnet being close to the lens(worked at walmart and Electronics keys have strong magnets) basically before i took the picture it seemed like i had the polarized filter on but it really wasnt had to take the phone in for repair
@djnarcotics
Exactly! However it keeps coming back so I'm taking my phone to sprint on Friday my deposit plus insurance should be able to replace my phone wouldn't mind a new evo or evo shift

I was having the same issue, I had to press on it kinda hard and it clicked a little bit then it started working. I was having the exact same issue pushing on it worked. I was just nervous about pushing on it too hard , I didn't want to break it.
:good:
Hi,
sometimes the touchscreen of my defy stops working (but the phone is not frozen)
and the only way to fix it is to lock/unlock the screen...
does anyone have the same problem (and can help me)?
thanks
P.S
i've had the problem both with stock rom (2.2) and with cyanogenmod rc 1.5
When this happens, do the 4 buttons below your display still give you haptic feedback (little vibration) or do they react not at all?
Also, does this only happen when there's the normal launcher/standby screen active or when there's an other app active too ?
Did you undervolt ?
Edit: Also, this seems to be a hardware problem which seems to be well known in a certain German android forum but I cannot find much about it in here. In short, the digitizer unit seems to be broken for some people and locking/unlocking helps because it disconnects and connects power for the digitizer. The people there fixed the problem by replacing the digitizer (which isn't easy at all!).
It would be nice to have someone from XDA who had this problem before too, to confirm this problem!
First of all, thank you for the answer
When I have the problem, 4 buttons stop working too.
It usually happens after a period of stand-by, i don't undervolt or have some other application running than the launcher (ADWlauncher).
I bought the phone one week ago, if it is an HW problem, i can't repair it by myself...
I'd recommend to wait and see whether xda has other suggestions for you and if not, just check the Motorola hotline and ask whether they know something and if they do change it for free.
Also, what you describe fits perfectly to what I've read elsewhere (don't know whether I'm allowed to post a link here or if it were useful at all because it is in German). So it sounds like your digitizer could really be defect.
ok, even if i hope to solve the problem by myself...
News: They've changed the touch screen, but the problem is still present...
Can it be a sw problem??
Keep sending it back, they will replace it in the end.

the whole phone?
Yes, the whole phone. They have two year warranties, but don't put up or make do, you should have a phone that works right

I use to get that problem on stock and some versions of CM.
Was definitely a software problem for me, havent had that problem since I'm on nightlies.
I wonder when it happens ,are you charging?

Hello,
Recently i opened my HOX to change the battery to a HOX+ one. I succesfully did that, but i think i lost a connection or possibly damaged something that connects my G-Sensor. Does anybody know something about this?
Second question:
Since i installed Sense 5.0, i have this weird lag with the statusbar. It drags down like 5 seconds after i made the swype. It also stays on half of the screen often. Does anybody know how to fix this??
Greetings,
Happiness
Well as for your g sensor it is a common problem I've heard a lot these days..due to updating to sense 5
Your other problem I don't know how to fix..you can try a full wipe and reflash the rom

the g-sensor problem is a very common as I am also included in this problem , I have placed a tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420209 to help some people
to revive their sensor , I hope it will work fine for you
I have HTC Desire HD, I rooted my phone 2 years back, and flashed custom rom
I had no speed issue
1-But now a days my phone is getting slower,
with everything closed, still some apps take longer time to start, or even show the message, app not responding, close?
2-The other issue i am facing is that my proximity sensor is not working now, earlier i used to fix it using proximity re-calibrator, but now that is also not working
I tried every jellybean rom, but having these both issue. now a days i am using GimmeABreak⢠by arDroid.99
3-The third issue is the sound quality problem in the handsfree. The sound quality on jb equalizer is just ridiculous. can i fix it?
If yes then how
Can anybody help me to figure out, why i am facing these problems.
will the really thankful
I have installed gennext rom and it worked perfectly. But recently I experienced some problems in touch sensitivity. For example, if i touch and hold letter 'e' on my keyboard to enter number 3, it will type bunch of letter e's (eeeeee). I factory reset and installed the rom again. And touch was back to normal. But after few days problem came back. Is this a common problem or am I the only one having it? Please help
i'm having the same problem
I tought was the only one
I think it'a memory issue. Greenify nor cleanmaster didn't help
[UPDATE] It's weird but this touch problem goes away when I remove the back cover. I don't know how this is happening. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Flip Cover some time create this issue & the charger is also one of the reason.
my problem solved after changing the flip cover.
May be hardware or software problem.
As much i know when sometimes during charging if voltage is fluctuating or something u get screen problem, but as soon as u remove from charging it gets alright,
For u issue might be with the screen so u can test that by trying other rom if it works on other than problem is in software ( this is a good dignostic method) every mobile have a dignostic ussd umber try that and in that check screen testing so u may confirm via that too..I hope it was helpful
Change your swollen battery.
Thats the reason of problem of touch screen.
That was my problem after change battery everithing is normal.
Battery presure the back of phone.
That may be the reason. Swollen battery, why didn't I think of that earlier
