I put 6.1(same with the 6.5) on and i am geting errors from old files(pics, vids, everithing).i get there is no application associated with *filename* run the application first....
I get the same error if i install a app from a cab file and try to run it.
Didnt find anything with the search.any ideas.
Either the roms you tried don't have the proper software/codecs installed, or the files have gotten corrupted.
I'm guessing you flashed the at&t stripped rom between flashing cooked roms?
That's all I can think of.
yes i flashed at&t between roms.
You could try crc's full rom or my rom, I know the video and pictures work in them.
all the old files seem to be .denc endings now(*.doc.menc etc)
it seems i hade the encryption option enabled on my old rom, so all the files on my sd are encrypted.
Not too sure you will be able to recover from that, I never tried encryption.
well you can go back to wm 6.1 or 6 im not sure, those builds has the encrypted app for SD and decrypt them again and please dont use it again, or your apps will eat more ram than normal... and gives you some low ram or other issues.
Hi,
I rooted myt HTC Hero and I'm trying to install a custom rom.
With EVERY rom I get:
Verifying update package ...
E:Corrupt file:
system/lib/libwebcore.so (this is random!)
E: Verification failed
Installation aborted
What am I doing wrong ? I reformatted my SD card, but nu luck ...
What recovery are you using?
Try upgrading to the latest Amon recovery or make one yourself.
AND/OR
you can try re-signing the zip file yourself.
I'm not recoverything anything .. just installing a custom rom through update.zip ...
Could be your SD card, or it may be that you've been "opening" the update.zip on your PC.
Regards,
Dave
Nope... tried 4 different SD card and 4 rom's ... not openend om my pc ....
strange .... anyone had this before ?
Hiya mate,
I had the same problem trying to install Villain rom 2.0.1 - it turned out it was a dodgy download of the rom file (even though i didn't notice any errors when i downloaded it). Try to redownload it again and see if that fixes it.
Also something to mention is that the corrupt version seemed to happen only when i used a download manager to get the file.
Hope you manage to get it sorted.
Jamie.
I flashed the Official_FroYo I i downloaded from the forums, which I originally thought had worked, but this was the version with the Market issue. I therefore downloaded the updated . when i came to the part in the menu Flash Zip from sdcard, i can see the roms on the card, when i select the new one i get
Opening update package
E: Can't open
/sdcard/Official_FroYo_Market_fixed.zip
(bad)
installation aborted
I have tried to down load the file from other mirrors and even other roms such ad opendev, modaco with the same messages. I can open all the zip files on my PC without issues. I can flash the original Official_FroYo.zip file that was still on the scard this works, tried renaming one of the others to this still doesn't work. I tried a Wipe, before and also without a wipe.
Any suggestions anyone, the phone is rooted T-mobile
Martin
Could be some bad sectors on your SD card. Formatting it can solve the problem.

Hi.
I installed a starburst ROM for someone but they are not technically minded so I was wondering if there was a way to restrict the user to not give any app super user so it acts like stock ROM but with all the looks of the custom rom. I don't want them breaking anything unintentionally!
Thank you.
Tell them to not **** around with it? You can't do stuff like that with custom roms. That is the whole point. If you want it to be "idiot-proof" then install a stock rom or even an RUU. Prob defeating the purpose of what your asking but still.
Ok so I downloaded the most convenient rom from shared roms and it only comes as an exe. When I run it on my Windows 7 x64 machine I just get an error message. I get the same error message when i run it on the xp virtual machine.
I look in the temp folder and I don't get a zip but a folder with a bunch if .ini files and a .cab file.
How do I install this???
Thanks!
If it's not a rom designed specifically for your phone (and operator) then you'll need to make a goldcard - GIYF.
Would of been nice to have the error posted but seems like it is the CID issue. Just make a Goldcard but remember to backup the SD card first.
I know how to install zips but this exe is confusing me.
When I run this I get an error before I see any action, but looking in %temp% I do get the files I mentioned before so it looks like the files are being extracted but are not being transferred.
hi,
i have just tried to install LeeDroid 3.0.8.2 and am panicked that i've bricked my phone.
I partitioned the sdcard using Rom Manager - also downloaded and flashed the rom via rom manager.
It seemed to do its thing fine and the leedroid screen loaded up, but now it just keeps looping back on itself showing me that its installing making this funny beeping sound and then goes back to the leedroid screen for maybe 15 seconds and repeats.
Anyone know ever have this experience? can any one help?
thanks
Please make a search...
The best way to avoid bootloop is first to partition the SDcard with Gparted...
Then you need to check a few things (your hboot version among others)
good reading !!!
If it's looping at that point it is almost certainly a problem with the SD-card ext3 partition. Rom Manager is not terribly reliable with making that.
The Gparted suggestion is by far the best solution (assuming you have a PC with a card reader, rather than trying to do it with card mounted in phone)
If you *do* have a reader then try LiveCD with gparted, burn to CD and boot from that.
Make your first partition FAT32, and your ext3 partition at the end of the card. (1GB recommended). Make sure both partition are marked as "primary".
Sorry for jumping in here, but I also need help with this rom (sorry uber noob and all). Figured since the thread was so fresh may as well ask here.
Basically trying to install leedroid v3.0.8.2 (data ++) for my original htc desire.
Cant download from either of the links, they both lead to url 404s.
And i also tried downloading from both rom manager and also the minisite, these downloaded but seem to be corrupt. I cant open the zip file and trying to flash it returns a cant flash (bad) message.
Anybody know where i can get a working zip of this version?

Have you tried here and choose the ROM you want from the white scrolling list? The 3.0.8.3 data version downloads for me.
