[Q] Cannot Flash any roms but the one already installed help!!

I flashed the Official_FroYo I i downloaded from the forums, which I originally thought had worked, but this was the version with the Market issue. I therefore downloaded the updated . when i came to the part in the menu Flash Zip from sdcard, i can see the roms on the card, when i select the new one i get
Opening update package
E: Can't open
/sdcard/Official_FroYo_Market_fixed.zip
(bad)
installation aborted
I have tried to down load the file from other mirrors and even other roms such ad opendev, modaco with the same messages. I can open all the zip files on my PC without issues. I can flash the original Official_FroYo.zip file that was still on the scard this works, tried renaming one of the others to this still doesn't work. I tried a Wipe, before and also without a wipe.
Any suggestions anyone, the phone is rooted T-mobile

Could be some bad sectors on your SD card. Formatting it can solve the problem.

I've researched, maybe not hard enough but I am to a point where I don't know what to do. Call me dumb but this is my extra phone and was testing on it. Here is what happened.
I was attempting to do data2sd and cleared the sd card as asked then in clockwork I don't remember what I cleared but clearly the wrong thing and now I can get into recovery and hit "apply update.zip" and then it says it can't apply update.zip
So basically can't boot my phone up. I can only go into hboot and recovery and that's it. Am I out of luck?

if you cleared the contents of your sdcard, you deleted the update.zip that you had on it.
Put the clockworkmod update.zip back on your sdcard.
Then you can get back in clockwork and flash a new rom or do whatever you want in clockwork

yes put the clockwork recovery update.zip back into your memory card and try again,also try putting a rom you are going to use as well

what EXACTLY did you do in clockwork to **** things up in the first place?
That will really help a lot to know. What EXACTLY did you do to try and get data2ext working?
Because it failing sig verification means one of two things, 1: you have the wrong update.zip or 2: you don't have the ENG hboot anymore.
If you lost the ENG hboot you are ****ed.

**** I don't remember what I did, but it was long ago. I got it working, turns out using a blackberry to transfer my files onto my SD card didn't work, that's why it couldn't find update.zip because it wasn't actually there when it said it was. So I went and bought a USB with a SD plugin and it transferred correctly.

2nd time rom install help?

hi guys & girls,
i rooted my phone and installed oxygen-2.0.1 about a month ago but im getting a bit bored of that rom now so decided to change it heres where im getting confused?
i put my phone in recovery, done a data/factory reset
mounted usb so my sd card was synced dragged over the rom i wanted to try which RCMIxHD_v3.5 (as a rar file) then i renamed it to update.zip unmounted sd card then applyed the sdcard:udpate.zip let it do its thing then i rebooted.
all it does is reboot as a freash install of oxygen-2.0.1 what am i doing wrong
help would be great on this
im using a htc desire phone (forgot to add if that helps)

Put your new rom on sd card-make sure it is a .zip file-even though it may be associated with winrar,no need to rename it.
Choose install zip from sd card and then choose zip option to find the new rom ,then install it.(If it fails to install then toggle signature verification off)
Press back button and choose reboot system now.

If it's a rar file you need to extract the .zip file inside of course.

when i try to install,
it starts to run and then hits me with installation aborted E can 't open/sdcard/blablabla (rom im trying to install)

due think it could be the rom im trying to install if so....
you guys got any pointers on some shizzhot roms,,, would be cool

[Q] LeeDroid 3.0.8.2 Help

hi,
i have just tried to install LeeDroid 3.0.8.2 and am panicked that i've bricked my phone.
I partitioned the sdcard using Rom Manager - also downloaded and flashed the rom via rom manager.
It seemed to do its thing fine and the leedroid screen loaded up, but now it just keeps looping back on itself showing me that its installing making this funny beeping sound and then goes back to the leedroid screen for maybe 15 seconds and repeats.
Anyone know ever have this experience? can any one help?

Please make a search...
The best way to avoid bootloop is first to partition the SDcard with Gparted...
Then you need to check a few things (your hboot version among others)

If it's looping at that point it is almost certainly a problem with the SD-card ext3 partition. Rom Manager is not terribly reliable with making that.
The Gparted suggestion is by far the best solution (assuming you have a PC with a card reader, rather than trying to do it with card mounted in phone)
If you *do* have a reader then try LiveCD with gparted, burn to CD and boot from that.
Make your first partition FAT32, and your ext3 partition at the end of the card. (1GB recommended). Make sure both partition are marked as "primary".

Have you tried here and choose the ROM you want from the white scrolling list? The 3.0.8.3 data version downloads for me.

I cant flash my DHD with REVOLUTION HD.. it show an error STATUS 1
What does it means?

I think I got that once. It was a bad SD card. Formatting wouldnt fix it. I had to use another.

Could be a bad download as well.

I found somewhere, that format SD card can help, but I need to try it first before I can say, if it is true.
EDIT: Yes, it really helped. I just format SD card, put there only that ROM zip and that's it.

how do you transfer ROM zip to your sd card after you format your SD?
In my case, i did a FULL-Wipe 1.5 twice then get this error...now i can't install custom rom...any help?
Problem Solved
just unmount system then install full wipe 1.5 then install custom rom...

Below my solution:
1) formatted sd
2) re-copied in rom zip file
3) retried to flash, and still get error status 1
4) disconnected battery, reconnected, entered bootloader (vol down + power)
5) from bootloader re-entered recovery, tried again to flash, worked

This might save somebody some time
Had the same problem, found a simpler solution that doesn't requre formatting your SD card.
1. From recovery, reboot into recovery.
It's one of the options under advanced.
2. Flash your desired .zip from SD card.
3. Then it should work.
This solution is easier to do than the guys above.

This thread is a month old so you're a bit late - and that's what they were doing, but it was giving the status 1 error.
