I recently rooted my T-mo Galaxy s3 and was hoping to get some feedback on custom roms. I have used Cyanogen in the past but I realize everyones preference is different. I'm interested in JB roms of course and am looking for the following. Fast/stable/lots of cool features/themes/ and doesn't destroy your batterey life. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize in advance if I'm in the wrong section.
I would try this aokp build 5 is running great http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886498

You don't happen to have a link for that specific build do you, I followed that link you sent me but there were a lot of builds and I'm not sure which one is the most recent
Wait til the server is back up but this will be the best build to flash of aokp yet

Best ROM EVAR.
This rom seems to have a great rep..and I've heard of it from owning previous devices but can't say I ever ran it. Can someone just break down the basics like why people love it so much or what stands out about it? Would be appreciated thanks

Jedi Mind Trick seems to be very stable and a lot of people like it. I think at this point many of the ICS roms are pretty solid. If you want an AOSP based rom I would go with AOKP. Search around in the dev forum and see if anything catches your eye.

Depends on what your requirements are for best. Are you aiming for an S2 that's better than a stock S3 or a super debloated S2 that is absolutely quick or something that you can theme everything? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

My question is... which rom is best on this device? Maybe asking for too much but anything close to s3 and note 2 like rom would be sweet. I have an i777 on shostock3 and that rom is beast.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
You inherited a damn good phone lol. The recently released jellybean leaks like FK23, FL04, and FL16 offer a close experience to that of the Galaxy S3. The home screen and notification bars are nearly the same and many features are carried over to our device as well. You have some interesting motion features to try out as well.
Honestly you can't go wrong with any. All the devs put a lot of hard work into their roms, and it shows. My personal favorite for ics is blu Kuban. As of right now I am running fk23, and have been since it's release.

Congrats on getting this phone:thumbup:
Now as far as best ROMs. There is no such thing as a "best" ROM. Every user has its own preference based on whether he is a power user or a casual user, whether he is into themed ROMs or ROMs with stock feel, etc.
So you are just going to have to look in dev forums, read user posts, read OPs and then decide.
I can say so and so ROM is better but thats for my taste. You are not me. And some devs may not feel good that I left out their ROM.
So take this advise and happy flashing!

It's easy to miss CM10.1 becuase the thread for it is in the general section as it's not being maintained by the developer.

If you like all the new features and options of the Galaxy S4 which are advertised you will
really dislike any of the AOKP/AOSP/CM/MIUI roms.
All the Samsung and Touchwiz features and options are totally missing from those roms.
Those roms are as bare bone as possible. They don't even have wifi calling.
Even the excellent camera/camcorder is replaced with a very degraded camera app which
not only has most of the features and options missing, but the user interface looks like
somekind of home made app which does not even resemble the samsung camera.
But I know you will give the CM10 a try for sure, I did it way too many times in the past many
years and now I cannot think of even one good reason why anyone except for the developers
or people who really like to do a lot of experimentation with their phones flashing or using it.
Leaving a stock theme on your rom is perfect! Then people can theme their own phone because not everyone likes one theme!
About mods, just speed and battery life! Those two are important in my opinion!

I personally love the AOSP feel. As far as theme goes. But when it comes to performance I love stock Touchwiz on my Note II. So thats what I will aim for.
And how is the battery life on this phone? I heard from some people that it is really good and others that it isnt.

Jellybam ROMs were banned from XDA, so I doubt you will get much help.
Have you tried HW overlays in developer settings?

and if you like the look of AOSP you should try the no Cynowiz ROM. Touchwiz with AOSP themeing. Great ROM as well.
Im on the sprint variant which is why im here in the sprint forums lol but the synergy works for all builds. I read a lot into it before choosing to flash it. But it runs very smooth and is extremely stable and has pretty good battery life. Just making sure most of these roms suggested are for the sprint variant

There are so many good roms out. Test out another one and confirm its either your phone or the kernel. Also, go visit the good folks at Team Kernelizer thread and they have tweaks for KT747. I did experience some glitches when configurations were not properly tested.
