[Q] Can i flash JB rom with Sense with CID: 11111111? - HTC One X

Hi,
I would like to flash the newest InsertCoin rom to my One X, but i can't figure out if it will work.
In this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920060 it says that i need a certain CID - and my CID is 111111, so it doesn't match (and i tried to change it, but can't).
So - does anyone know if it will work?
And if it doesn't work, will it brick my phone og will i loose any information? (i made a backup in recovery)

your CID doesn't support the latest JB Firmware...so DO NOT FLASH THAT!

Hmm... That's not what i was hoping for...
So i will have to find a way to change my CID...?
Do you know how i got that CID? As far as i can read, everybody else has more "random" CID's... I'm an HTC ambassador (i work at a phone company in Denmark) so maybe i got a pre-production model?

you can't change your CID cause you are not S-OFF.... you will have to wait.... every phone has a different cid

Dammit...
Thanks for the help anyway
I actually considered flashing it just to try, but i think you just saved my phone...
And i suppose no one knows when we will get S-OFF...?

You know... i might be missing something here, but isn't CID - 11111111 SuperCID??
Surely that would mean the device is already S-Off??

In recovery it says from the top:
UNLOCKED
ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.12.0000
and so on...
I'm guessing that means it is ON?

Yeah that means it's S-ON, but if you had CID 11111111 then thats SuperCID and the CID restrictions wouldn't apply to you.
I don't quite understand how you can have a SuperCID device thats S-On, but if it's a special one from HTC, then who knows?

Mines the same. Weird combo from what I've been reading on here... hopefully there'll no more restrictions or anything... no waiting until every other CID has it first!

So in other words i can "safely" flash the JB rom?
If it doesn't work anyway, can i get back to ICS without a wipe?
I think i'm just about to get VERY happy

If you do have CID: 11111111 then yes, i'd say you can safely flash the new HBOOT, BUT because you're not S-Off, you can't go back to HBOOT 1.12.
You need to make a nandroid backup of you ICS Rom so if you don't like Jellybean, then you can go back to ICS through restoring. Beware though, things like CM10 etc don't work on the new HBOOT at the moment.

did you try fastboot oem writecid HTC_001 while in bootloader ? if device stops responding until reboot it means it wont work

Yes you can..my HOX has S-OFF and SuperCid and i was able to flash the new hboot.

Not all SuperCID devices are S-Off. S-Off also allows you to flash an older hboot, which cannot be done with SuperCID alone.

Yes this looks like superCID but I don't know if it will support the JB firmware... Better not to try

The worst that could happen is that the new hboot is rejected. That's seems like an entirely recoverable scenario.

Then what does SUPER CID mean if you cannot flash the new Hboot, so it isn't that SUPER!

It means you can run any RUU

It will support the new HBOOT i'd imagine, If you've got SuperCID it's like being region free.
I can't see why it wouldn't work, it's worked for other people, thats one of the advantages of being S-Off, so you can SuperCID and flash any HBOOT (+Downgrade if you're S-Off)

[Q] Keeping HTC DEsire HD unlocked

I had a previous thread before but it seems to be deleted... sorry?
ive followed threads http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
Ah i ok i just thought because i have S-OFF, i would be able to install the stock rom it anyway, so ive done that and installed the stock PD98IMG 1.32.405.6
Is there anything else i need to do to prevent the phone from locking again? also ive read about this clockworkmod recovery and rom manager.... is that needed to keep my unlock or anything? thanks again guys.
You do not need to do anything anymore, your phone will remain unlocked until you lock it again using Radio S-OFF tool.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Also i have set my "CID" to stock HTC__001, but im not sure what this is meant to do as it seems to have made no difference?
... and your saying that for my phone to become locked again, i would have to change it to s-off, then click "sim unlock" again?
The radio S-OFF tool does not change your software CID, it changes the bootloader CID. So there it makes huge difference. You can try it, you no longer need a goldcard
For your phone to become locked, yes, you have to select S-ON and put your branded CID to your phone (if your phone is branded, that is). The SimUnlock cannot be undone, and it does not matter, because anybody can unlock their phones when they just pay for the code. The difference is that radio tool is free.
thanks for the reply mate..
i just have one question "For your phone to become locked, yes, you have to select S-ON and put your branded CID to your phone"... i have put S-On back, as i was worried i would make changes by accident to the nand so i put it back to s-On just incase, and my phone isnt locked its still unlocked?
... also im not following you with the CID idea, the phone was/is branded to Orange UK, so i set the CID to stock HTC__001, but this has made no differerence and still seems to be branded...?
and when you say it changes the boot loader CID, do you mean the white recovery screen etc? and when you said it makes a huge difference, what do you mean by that?
You say that your phone is still unlocked after S-ON, what do you mean by that? You cannot install a custom rom, so it is not unlocked. Root is possible with S-ON, but try modifying something in /system/..
And what do you mean about phone still being branded after HTC__001? The CID is just a permission to install different ROMs from different sources, for example HTC__001 allows you to flash any WWE ROM. You probably had ORANG001, with that it was not possible to flash HTC WWE ROM.
by unlocked i mean, can accept any simcard from any network, for example i am using an o2 simcard in it. it is S-ON, im just wanting to make sure i dont lose my unlock.
also what does WWE mean. sorry for the noobness guys.

[Q] How can I change the CID of my S-OFF One X?

My phone is S-OFF and it is SuperCID(11111111), I found out that I won't receive updates if my phone has this CID. I want to change it to a\n unbranded CID where I can receive the JB OTA. I don't know how, though. Also, what CID do you think will receive the earliest JB OTA once it comes out? And if I am going to change my CID to an unbranded one, can I revert it back to SuperCID once I receive the update?

just run a RUU and that will make you s-on and with the RUU's CID...
That doesn't sound useful, why would you want to lose S-Off?
HTC_001 is probably the most likely to be first, but I'm not sure if the OTA will work. Do you have stock 2.17.401.2 and stock recovery?

yep i agree, i wouldn't ever ever ever flash a RUU only to get official updates! we will get the official update before it will be released worldwide
I am currently on stock 2.17.401.2 after flashing the RUU a month ago. Before that, I was on 1.15.401.1(!). Stock recovery? I don't know what that means, sorry. Anyway, I don't want to lose my S-OFF just so I can receive updates. I know s-off phones can change CID by fastboot blah blah. Something about writing a command, ugh, I'm not really sure.
You wouldn't even need to flash the RUU...
If you're S-Off, you could just use fastboot oem writecid HTC__001 if you really wanted too, which would change your CID to HTC__001 and keep you S-Off, but i'd say staying SuperCID is the best idea, and just flash one of the many JB roms that are out there.

I get that. But I am still in the process of learning things since this is my first Android phone. Things are still complicated specially because the tuts on inbstalling custom ROMs are all about S-ON HOXs. Anyway, if I change my CID to a normal unbranded one, can I revert it back to SuperCID?
Yes you could.
You'd just do fastboot oem writecid 11111111.
To get updates though, you'd need to have a locked bootloader, stock rom etc... You phone would basically become a Unbranded European One X. Not sure if flashing the update would put you S-On, which means you'd be stuck as a HTC__001.
Basically if you wanted to try Jellybean, you'd just have to flash the required firmware, followed by a custom recovery then flash the rom. You don't need to unlock bootloader because you're S-Off.

... and as an added bonus you don't need to flash the boot.img of a custom rom before flashing the Rom itself, as we s-on peeps need to. You can just flash the entire custom rom at once from the custom recovery.
I.E. you won't need a computer when you want to try another rom

Well to be fair, it's very rare to find an S-Off One X at the moment, so count yourself very very lucky!
You hold one big big big advantage over us all though, you can downgrade your HBOOT back to 1.12 if you didn't like Jellybean. Currently for the most of us, with compatible CID's, once we're on HBOOT 1.28, thats it, there is no way back which means things like CM10 etc doesn't work for us.
Actually, you can use CM10 with hboot 1.28, but you have to use the special boot.img posted in the CM10 thread. It works for hboot 1.23 and hboot 1.28.

[Q] Was HTC__001, then 111111111, now HTC__621, HELP!

Hey all,
I got in a sticky situation. I am trying to flash on Cyanogenmod and it is proved to be difficult.
Right now, I am relocked, with S-OFF, Hboot, 2.14 and version 3.18.502.6.
I used to be HTC__001, then I used the tool kit to root and achieve CID 11111111. However, I wasn't able to flash Cyanmod because I wasn't a high enough HBOOT. So I used another toolkit to flash a higher HBOOT, well that flashed on the HTC__621 and really F'd stuff up.
Eventually I recovered and I was able to boot in my rom, but now I am looking to get to a point where I can flash Cyanogenmod.
I assume I have to go through htcdev again to get new unlock bins because I am on a new cid? Could I simply try flashing the stock RUU for Evita (I assume it is Evita because it is the ATT version of the HTC One x?)
Any help would be greatly appreciate as this situation is beyond anything I can find help with on the forums.
Cheers!
Technically, my phone is a HTC__001, but it says HTC__621.
Is it possible to use this RUU since I am S-Off?
RUU_Evita_UL_ATT_US_1.44.502.1_Radio_0.15.3201.09_release_249105.EXE?

Doh. Confusing. Sorry mate.

can't S-OFF my device (wierd problem)

I once did an S-OFF but I full wiped my device& flashed a costum rom and now at the bootloader screen its says S-ON.
Every thing fine here, but when im trying to S-OFF my HTC ONE M8 after saying yes at the firewater I got a message like this:
there really isn't a helluva lot to do here. bye bye
but im going back to the bootloader device and still S-ON. anything that I can do to S-OFF my device? im clueless.
Thanks in advanced
Can you change your cid? If yes irs still s-off but somehow changed to s-on normally it can't change to s-on by its own.. so try to change your cid and if it works you still have s-off
There's a hack available that more or less hides the fact that you're s-off. It will do exactly what you're describing. It'll show you as being s-on when you really aren't. Also, if you run firewater after doing the hack, you'll get the same message you got. Perhaps the rom you installed came with the hack? Can't say that I know of any that do but perhaps you should ask first in the thread for the rom that you flashed. Just a thought.

And normally the Roms doesn't change the s-off/s-on flag maybe the firmware did it...but yea you should be Still s-off if supercid is still there

Supercid

I have a problem with my two HTC 10's. Both of them soff and unlocked with supercid done from fastboot. All OK until I went to flash one of them from telstra Rom to vodafone. I did that too but when I tried to update the phone to newer version via ota it said something like the phone Is modified and it can not do it. So I checked via fastboot and I have supercid but when I check from the app Simple CID Getter it says I have the Telstra cod and I figured that's why it doesn't allow me to flash the OTA. The phone is stock nothing modified after I flashed the Vodafone ruu. Any clue why that's happening and if I can get supercid with a different way?
Not sure if it applies here too, but when I converted from Sprint to US Unlocked I had to change the MID as well for it to finally work. Couldn't hurt to do it I don't think. And I want to say I remember that Simple CID app will say the original, but what matters is what it says in download mode.

Not sure what's happening with Simple CID but to take OTA you can't have superCID. Use the Vodafone cid instead.
