Good afternoon to all. I recently flashed CM 10 to my GS3. I own a Voyager Legend bluetooth headset. Since flashing, the headset doesn't announce names or numbers any longer. I didn't get the prompt asking to access my contacts. Is there anyway to push this? I am assuming it is not accessing the phone book access profile. Any help provided will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I had several relatives call me and it still doesn't announce the name or number. Any other suggestions?

I am thinking about getting the One X but I do have a question first. I search the forums and read plenty of reviews to no avail. Does anyone know if the One X support the Bluetooth Message Access Profile(MAP). I would like the feature in my next phone to use with my Ford Sync system.
Me too. Though my Sensation does it pretty well. Never hurts to be sure...
It apparently does support it. I was able to see text messages on my BMW 550's iDrive screen earlier. During pairing, I got a MAP Access request.
However there appears to be some kind of bug. When you go to Advanced Options in Bluetooth Settings, the only thing you see if FTP Server. However briefly other options flash and then disappear. Once earlier the options 'stuck' but if you'd check them they wouldn't save.
Hopefully the forthcoming OTA fixes this. I was really hoping this phone would show contact pictures in iDrive. The Sensation supports this. I suspect something in Bluetooth needs to be enabled that is not. (I borrowed a Lumia 900 with WP7 and it did this -- quite cool.)
Can anybody else test to see if the Advanced Options menu does the same thing?
When you got the MAP Access Request, did you select the 'always allow' option too? If not go back through the pairing process again to fix this.

I did. Should I repeat the pairing process and NOT select Always Allow?
Awesome. Thanks for the help.

Still doesn't work, unfortunately. The options appear quickly and then disappear.
I cannot get Contact Pictures to work, nor E-mail. Text messages seem sporadic.
IT WORKS!
I just got the One X yesterday and it works perfectly for me with Ford SYNC and for the BMW iDrive in my wife's X5d. You are correct though, there does not seem to be any literature or documentation stating this as part of the phone's capability. My selling agent was willing to send me the One X to try out over the weekend. To my surprise and contentment, I finally have an Android phone working with AT&T and all of my BT capabilities. No compromises.
Any tips on getting it working? I enable "Message Access" in the Bluetooth advance setting. My Sync system won't Download unread messages and it won't let me send text message from the car. The phone hasn't pop up with a allow MAP access request dialog either. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
I am also using the ATT One X. Not sure if thats the problem or not.

Sir, does your SYNC system show the sender of the SMS properly? Mine's showing my number as the sender of every SMS in a 2013 Mustang with 1st gen SYNC w/NAV.

I currently drive the BMW X3 F25 with advanced bluetooth connectivity , and although sms and phonebook works fine the email function in the office menu just states"No messages with the current filter." Before buying my HTC one X I checked the bmw compatibility site and saw that the HTC sensation supports this function with no problems at all, however after they updated their site to show the One x it does show no email support for one x but support with the sensation. What is really bugging me is what makes the sensation so special to allow the email support that the One x cant offer?
Is there any custom roms out there that might give me that support?
Are you on a specific custom rom allowing you ALL of your BT capabilities in your wife's car (inc Email) ?
Kind regards
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm hoping to get some help here. I have been having trouble getting the MAP settings for my One X to stick to connect to my Toyota Entune. I will set up the advance settings in bluetooth, but it will not save. Entune is set up to go. I just can't get the settings to say on the phone. Anyone had this issue and was able to fix it?
I am a sensation user and before I rooted my phone most of the features worked. I have been looking high and low for more info in this so I will give you what I have.
4.4 (KitKat) has native support for MAP (Message Access Protocol) which is part of the Bluetooth stack. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile#Message_Access_Profile_.28MAP.29)
Most Makers of the phones (HTC) have to set the profiles accordingly. The sensation had it for the HTC email app that was part of stock because it was built with that MAP profile setting from HTC. My car could not send a text message but it could receive them. After loading KitKat on my Sensation I can now send the messages but I think Google hangouts is messing with the receiving side of it. I am still trying to wrap my head around this but there you go...
Good luck!
Hi All,
Just got my new Lumina after being with TMO and using a HD7. ATT is new to me so I was surprised when I had to set up the voicemail, then a password, then realized that unless you turn off your VM password, you have to enter it every time you call.
I also found out that Visual Voicemail is not standard which is a shame. I like it a lot better. There used to be a hack on the HD7 that would allow you to turn on the VVM. Is there anything like that for the Lumina?
TIA.

Hmmm, the first line in that post tells you to make sure you get a rep that knows how to provision your account. You called AT&T and finally got a rep that knew what they were doing... It got you going in the right direction it seems.

Yes it did get me going in the right direction to call customer support and again, thank you. I didn't mean to be rude or brush off your attempt to help.
Usually I do search and read hence the low number of posts in 6 years as a member but I obviously didnt get that the thread was telling me I should call customer service.
Maybe I should put it down to new toy syndrome...
Cheers.

No worries! Enjoy your new toy, I know I am.
I haven't seen this mentioned but has anybody been able to use a BT headset to make, receive, and control calls? I can't. I get "this feature isn't supported on the connected phone" from my Blueant Q2. I know this was an issue with the Sensation and tried installing the voicedialer.apk but the phone won't allow it to be installed. I installed Vlingo but it crashes the phone and I have to do a reset to get it back. Thoughts? Experiences?
Update. We're apparently screwed. There's no native voice dialer included in ICS. I found one that installs but it loses its connection with the headset as soon as it starts. The folks on the Vivid forum are having the same issue. I tried the apps they discussed but they didn't work either. So I guess we wait for HTC to do something.

Yes... ish
I posted the same question a few days ago, but I got no reply, so I bought the phone anyway and tried. Vlingo sort of works with my jawbone earpiece. What I do not like at all is the fact that it does not confirm the command before dialling, or at least I did not figure out how to set it up properly, with the result of dialing the wrong contact in case of a misunderstanding.
I am really missing the simplicity of the blackberry voice dialler, amongst other things (mostly due, I guess, to my being a newbie with android). It was a no-brainer, whilst all the solutions I have seen for android are slightly more cumbersome.
Thanks to the other thread you linked I think I am going to try cyberon voice commander. I could save a couple of dollars/euros buying their voice dialler, but as far as I can see it needs training to attach voice tags to contacts. I don't like the idea of spending time to do that.
This seems like such a basic feature these days, why the hell hasn't it got it?!!!
this is very disappointing news. all the reviews i looked at mentioned voice dialing as a feature. and i just ordered a blueant q2. just tried using voice dial on my phone menu. awful.
i found a retail site online that says the blueant q2 is not compatible with the htc one x and identified several other bluetooth items (including blueant) that are. i decided to try the jawbone era and have it on order. not as many desirable (to me) features as the q2, but if it works, it will be a step up from nothing.
online site is htcpediadotcom. i don't know how reliable it is; first time i've looked at it.
I only just noticed yesterday that the phone would not send the bluetooth connection to the head unit in my car, even though it was connected to it.
I had to use the phones loudspeaker....
All of the Android phones in the past 2 years have worked fine!
Hello,
I just bought a G3, and I can not synchronize the contacts with the Metavoice bluetooth kit installed on my Volkswagen Golf. I've never had any problem with the previous iPhone and Galaxy S3 and S4. Anyone have some ideas to solve the problem?

Hi,
sorry for the delay in the response. When I tried to synchronize the address book, I did it with the phone in my pocket, using the buttons on steering wheel of the car. That way I did not realize that the first time he gets this operation, the device asks for permission to download, and not receiving it then refused the operation!
Hope this helps.

Hi guys i recently received my Galaxy S6 from sprint that my brother bought on may this year and loved it, but then fell in love with the Note 5 and saved this one on the box. Like i said the phone is exactly the same way it was when he bought it, so damn new! so i was very happy when the phone arrived and i quickly called my brother so that he could have it connected to the sprint network. He did and the phone worked awesome, we even changed the old number he had on that line he connected to my phone and got to call a friend of mine so everything worked, but! The next day i wake up to make a call and as i'm waiting for the 00:00 minutes to start rolling it took about 5 to 9 seconds to appear on screen and when it does, i CANT HEAR THE RING OR THE PERSON WHEN I MAKE A CALL! and so cant the person i'm calling, they get the call, but when they answer it they cant hear me. I tried everything sprint has told me from resetting the phone in many ways and nothing seems to work. Also everything on the phone works, trust me i've tried every test, i can hear on the lower speaker and on the top one also (my brother left a voice message and i could hear it loud and clear) so i know its not the speakers or anything hardware. I've tried everywhere and no one seems to have the answer to my problem can anyone pleaseeeeee help me , this phone is new and nothing is broken in it. I made a test to the microphone and i could record and talk to anyone on messenger, whatsapp, etc... so i know the mic works. Everything works, the only problem is that when YOU WANT TO MAKE A PHONE CALL OR RECEIVE ONE, YOU CANT LISTEN ANYTHING ON THE TOP SPEAKER, neither can the other person hear you. Please anyone :/
Thanks in advance!
I know this is way out there, but make sure you turn Bluetooth off. It may be connecting to a Bluetooth device and expecting you to use that.

Factory reset isn't going to do it. You need to Odin the latest tar file to clean up whatever you have done to your phone. That will reset you to stock where Factory reset only deletes user data.
Here is the tar file:
File name: G920PVPU3BOJ7_G920PSPT3BOJ7_SPR.zip
Link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087002159
md5: fe1d4a7b3ad20f3e79efc7526e95143d
Pm if you need a replacement screen
Hello @cruise350 and thank you for the post. I have some questions before I start on your advice, what exactly do you mean by "odin" the latest tar file? Also, what do you mean by reset me to stock? Stock as in when I bought the phone for the first time or another version of android?

Here is a video of how to reset your phone using Odin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tv0BnfpNxEs
The TAR file linked above will reset your phone to the latest Samsung Sprint version, as if you had just bought it from a store. (Including all the latest security patches.)
It is not a customized ROM, it will be "stock." You will not have root, which is something added afterwards. You can find a thread here for how to add that, if you need it.
Same Issue With BRAND NEW PHONE
I am running into the same issue with my fiancee's mom. She bought an S6 from Best Buy last Wednesday and had this problem the next day. We took the phone back to Best Buy, only to have the same problem all over again.
Now that she is on her second phone, she took it into a Sprint store and called Sprint. The Sprint technical people who took her call gave her a code to punch in the dialer, but it has not helped.
