[Q] CM10, boots into CWM when charging - HTC One V

Hello,
I have a weird problem here and I'm not sure if its related to the phone or to CM10 ROM. Whenever I shut down the phone (shut off completely) and charge the phone (either via laptop or outlet) the phone automatically boots into CWM recovery. I've read that this is normal but before I flashed to CM10, I didn;t have this problem. I also read that if I turn on fastboot, then the problem will do away but I'm not sure if CM10 has a fastboot option.
Anyone know?

Power button for select was disabled. To toggle it back on all you had to do was go from the bottom selection to top and back again a few times. It's a built-in feature in case your power key is broken

[Q] How do you remove clockwork recovery on a galaxy S3?

Hi, I was wondering how to remove and update clockwork recovery. I do not want to un-root my phone, I just want to remove and update clockwork recovery because of an issue.
No need to remove it, just look for an updated version to the one you have and install it.

So I download the newest version from http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager in the "Download Recovery" section then flash it, correct? I can just click PDA in odin and flash, right?

Slight problem, when I get it from the site it comes as .img. However, when I click PDA on odin it does not show the file. How is it that the people who make it give you a file that cannot be opened in odin while a file I get from some random person can?
If you have the ClockworkMod ROM Manager app, it lets you update your recovery to the latest version. Which is still 6.0.1.2 still. Much easier than flashing or anything else.

Well... if your version is actually out of date, it would be the very top selection in ROM Manager.... "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery"

I might switch. How do you remove CWM though?
Just download GooManager from the play store and open it, I think then you hit the menu key on your phone and hit "install recovery script". It will do everything for you.
I went to TWRP after CWM as well, and will never go back either!

I have done so and now have TWRP in place of CWM. My question is how do I delete all of the files and data associated with CWM in order to free up that space on my memory?
Just delete the "clockworkmod" folder on your sd card and you'll be all good.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 10 & One V

Hello Frnz,
I just want know if cyanogenmod 10 is suitable for One V or not?
I've been to cyanogenmod’s official website n they say it does not support however, many ppl claim to otherwise.
Help would b much appreciated
Yes it is supported and highly customisable and great for one v.
your wrong! it isnt officially support by CM, but that doesnt matter at all. its running great for the One V and i recommend it alot.
I meant its dev support is great.not official support.
Sorry for the misunderstanding

If want to install any custom ROM just unlock bootloader and flash recovery through PC adb
For easy..
Just go through HTC one v all in tool kit, found in general or development section

I can't believe I am asking a question as stupid as this, but I'll ask it anyway ...
... where do I download CM10 for a HTC One V? I find the CM website, and can see that the One V is not an officially supported device, but which version of the CM10 software do I need to download?
Sorry to be so slow. I know it's a thick question and I must be missing something somewhere.
Oli.
Here's the download link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996761 (this is for gsm)
Fantastic - thanks very much!
I've downloaded it and installed it, and now the 'phone is in a boot-loop. I'm not quite sure what to do about it, but am sure that this isn't the right thread for it!
Thanks for your help. Off to try and find the answer ...
Oli.
You need to flash hellboy kernel, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954967 download the latest for cm10 and flash it
Great, thanks again. Of course, the 'phone won't boot so I can't connect it to a PC to download the kernel to the micro SD card ... good thing I have an adaptor and an SD slot in my lappie, eh!
CWM will load a ZIP from the memory card, but the kernel isn't a zip - it's an img file. Do I replace the boot.img in the zip for CM10 that I am using, replacing the existing boot.img file in there, and then move that (modified) zip to the memory card?
Oli.
No u need to use fastboot. Remember how you rooted the phone? Same thing. Put the file.img in your fastboot folder on pc, on the phone, hold power for 10 seconds, it will turn off. Then hold vol down and power, after some seconds release power but keep holding vol down. It will get to hboot. Connect to pc with cable and on the phone click fastboot, it should say fastboot usb. On the pc, open cmd, locate your fastboot folder and type fastboot flash boot nameofkernel.img, wait for it to finish and reboot the phone. It will take some minutes but then it will boot normally
Thanks, I'm just trying that and it's rebooting as I type. (Hope it's not in another boot loop!)
Out of curiosity, why can't you simply swap the *.img files within the ROM zip? (I tried this and it doesn't work.)
Oli.
OR
Y can try the all in one Toolkit where u can flash Kernel in one go!
EASY AS [email protected]! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks. I came across the all-in-one toolkit after I had unlocked the bootloader and rooted the 'phone, so assumed I had no use for it from that stage on. Perhaps I need to have another look at it.
How long should the 'phone remain at the boot screen when booting CyanogenMod for the first time? It's still there (concentric cyan coloured rings, spinning in opposite directions) and has been there for a good few minutes now. How long before I assume it's in a bootloop and go back to a previous restore point?
Oli.
5 to 10 mins max i guess
If it stays there its good, just wait, if it reboots it's not good you need to downgrade your radio using ruu. Let's see

First of all you're posting in the wrong section. This belongs in q&a not development. Secondly you're going to have to give more details about your problem and the current state of your phone before you're going to get much help. Such as do you have a custom recovery, what version of recovery if yes, do you have updated bootloaders, what are you trying to install, and most importantly what can't mount?
