Check for a file named .nomedia on your root folder. Anything with a period at the beginning. Delete it, reboot.

Search the market for any application that forces a media rescan. There are several, and this should fix the problem.

I thought I remembered a thread for this from a while ago, but I have been looking (on the app, not my computer) for about an hour for the MIUI Music apk and I cannot seem to find it. Is it actually out there or am I crazy?

Here is an idea. Have you emailed youtube (the people behind it) and see if they took that option away in the last update? Or it could be a bug they need to fix.

No but I searched and either my wording or no one has has this issue. Was fine after latest update then all of sudden gone.. ill roll back updates and see if that helps. Will email YouTube people too.

They show up in my gallery repeatedly. They look like malware pictures. I removed all of them once and they came back. So I looked at the details and found the file location. Removed the files. A day later they're back once again.

Some app is putting them there. I know that the Geico app puts silly pics on your phone.
Why is this an acceptable practice? It's like those airpush ads.
I deleted the whole appcache file and it still came back.

Torrents, stop using them on your phone lol.
Do you have any sideload games folders on your memory card? If you do, Gallery will create thumbnail images from those folders. The only way to tell the gallery not to read those folder is you must have .nomedia file in those folders. Good luck.

This might be the closest assumption to whats causing the problem. But its so convient to download torrents straight to my phone lol.

Try a different music app?
Is it in wrong format?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
I'm guessing that the problem started after tinkering?
Might want this moved to Q and A. Maybe someone there has a solution.

Check if you have a file called ".nomedia" in your music folder. (I don't know why you would have this file but it worth verifying). If you have such a file just delete it.
Yeah .nomedia would prevent the files from being indexed. Delete it if you have them.
