Bell gs3 jb leak install (how-to) - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm not specifically sure where I would put this thread, but is a tutorial on how to upgrade your GS3 to a leaked JB official rom
(Bell).
Note* External SD Card may be required, was the only way I could get it to work.
*Forgot to mention this removes root, so you will need to root again if you don't like this leak
Firstly, follow these instructions on using odin to flash to the latest firmware. All downloads provided in link. http://www.theandroidsoul.com/mvlalh1/
It is pretty straightforward and similar to other rooting methods. If you have a kernel installed do not worry, this firmware will overwrite it and restore all stock drivers etc.
**If you get stuck on a boot loop or the boot screen take out the battery and reboot recovery and wipe data/factory reset.**
Next you want to download the OTA leak here http://www.hotfile.com/dl/171511232/8603d3c/SGH-I747M_I747MVLALI-OTA-I747MVLALH_BMC_325174257.zip.html.
After download, place onto your External SD Card (can also try internal but did not seem to work for me).
Now go onto your phone and power it off.
Reboot into recovery (Volume Up+Home+Power. Hold all till Vibrate, then quickly release and hold again. You will see samsung logo with "recovery" in top left but its small)
Now you want to Apply Update from location of the OTA leak (cache did not work for me).
Reboot.
You should now be enjoying TouchWiz with Google Now and JB awesomeness!! Lemme know if you have any issues. Thank me if I helped you out pal!

BUGS**
Only noticed bug so far is a blue screen flickering from accessing the task manager quickly. Random, and nothing to worry about. Overall very stable.
Google+ is preinstalled, and runs in background and chews battery. Disable it. If you use it then you have to deal with the battery life.

Is this a new leak

I'm pretty sure its the leak from around September. I'm not quite sure how new but it works well. I had problems finding the leak so I thought it would be easier for some people if I post the link here.

EL29 and Clockwork, no Clockwork?

Hi all,
First, I did try and look for an answer before posting this question.
About me, I'm a former WebOS user. And I am still considering myself a newbie when it comes to Android rooting, superuser and mods.
I was on EL02, like most people. I had rooted my phone using the youtube videos posted here and also had Clockwork installed.
A few days ago, I ran the EL29 auto update posted here on xda. I used the NODATA version held power + vol dwn and when I rebooted all my apps and data were intact. Perfect!
It went fine, but I have a few problems I need to fix, which I'm not going to into with this post.
I am wondering how to get the Clockwork installed.
I thought that was going to get installed automatically but it wasn't.
According to the instructions posted here, it said to do option C. But the problem is I am never given the opportunity to enter any options when doing the update. The ODIN just uses that NODATA script and there is nothing else I can do from what I see.
When I do reboot into developer mode, power + vol up, I am getting just 4 options:
1) reboot system now
2) apple update from sdcard
3) wipe data/factory reset
4) wipe cache partition
That's it, when I have EL02 with Clockwork, I have many more features, such as: Backup, Restore, Restore from SD etc.
How do I get that stuff back, I'm assuming that what I have now is stock without Clockwork.
And as I said in the instructions it talked about option c to install Clockwork, but I was never offered that option. I never had the screen show in the instructions.
Maybe I was not supposed to have done a Power + Vol DWN and maybe I should have done a Power + Vol UP. But it didn't say this.
So I'm lost now.
Thanks for your expertise and help!
Rob

Yeah, they are referring to "autoroot" option c.

If you want CWM use Option C in the Auto Root Package to install EL29+CWM (you are already rooted so Option A is not necessary)

You'll notice "Auto Root Package" is a link to the thread you need to use.
Thanks all!
I got it!

After unmounting SD, still seeing, "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD Card".

After unmounting SD, still seeing, "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD Card".
It seems like I've tried just about everything. This has only been a problem since coming to ICS, no matter what ROM I'm running.
Attempting to download and install large apps & games from the Play Market presents the following error (which many of you have seen):

"Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card. "
I'm going to put this in bold, because many people will probably come in here and call me an idiot who needs to search the site (although I've been looking for a fix for about a month now):
The error is persistent even after unmounting and/or removing SD card and rebooting
I am currently running AOKP, but have seen the error on CM9 and Caulkin builds. I've purchased many games which I am unable to install and it has been very frustrating. Any advice?
That happens when not on a stock kernel. I have read that clearing cache and rebooting has fixed this issue for some. I am not sure if you could flash a stock kernel with that rom or not. I would look in the roms thread to see if flashing a stock kernel is possible or not.

Yeah, I've flashed a few kernels and cleared a few caches to no success. But you've given me an idea: flash a stock GB rom, download the apps, back up the .apk, flash back to ICS and install.
Pain in my ass!!
Rogue repacked kernels(cwm) or stock kernels(no cmw)? Its ussually the repacks causing market issues. I download Samurai vs Zombie(133mb) with no issue. Here is some no cwm kernels thanks to Team Nocturnal.

Not recognizing internal storage after ics update

So I unbricked, loaded stock AT&T Gingerbread, then ran update to official ICS. Everything went smoothly, I am installing apps, setting things up and I get a low storage warning. I look and only have about 40MB available.
Where is my 4GB internal storage?

How many apps did you install? The actual space you have for apps and everything is 2.15GB on stock iCS, but on CM9 its 1.84 GB.
Not very many at all. It is only seeing 310mb.

Did you do a factory reset after you installed the ICS update? It's critical that you do so.
Turn phone completely off, then hold down the "volume down" and "power" buttons for about 5-10 seconds (until the text appears asking if you want to factory reset). Let go and follow the simple instructions. Then see if it fixed your issue (all your settings will be reset).
That is exactly what I needed to do.
Thanks!

Phone won't boot

I turned off my phone (vzw galaxy nexus) today to replace the battery and it wouldn't boot back up. It was stuck on the Google screen. I've tried almost everything i could think of. I was running AOKP jb build 4 at the time with imo's lean kernel. I've tried doing restores and installing fresh aokp b4 and ics milestone 6 ROMs. The ics rom/restore goes into boot loop and any jb rom/restore gets stuck at Google.
A few odd things i did notice was that the first time i tried to wipe dalvik cache, cwm recovery was frozen for a few minutes and i had to battery pull but after that it was able to wipe it quickly. Another thing is when i restore my backups, there is a error in restoring /data.

Anyone know any fixes? I haven't tried installing a stock image yet since I'm not home but the situation doesn't look good.

How long did you let it sit at the Google screen? If an 'improper shutdown' is detected (no idea what constitutes improper), the JB boot loader does a full scan of the file structure to make sure everything is intact. I've had it take several minutes now and then, and others have reported longer before the Nexus animation begins.

I let it sit for a couple of minutes, but oh well i fixed it by flashing a stock Google image. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Impossible to brick Nexus, always there is a way to revive your phone .
youll have to flash factory image via fastboot to get it to work again
you can pull your sdcard data in recovery to your pc because after flashing via fastboot youll lose all your data even the sdcard data

[Q] Where's this Phone At?

Ok so I just got this D710 Epic 4G touch. With some of the info I have read I'm guessing that it's kinda easy to brick these if you use the wrong method to flash a rom if it's before the source release & I'm not sure about where this phone is at. It has the Leaked(FF02) ICS Rom & Stock Recovery on it. I am not sure when this was released.
What I want to do is put phone on a good stable stock rom that everything works to get a good base & nandroid backup. Then I want to go to a good stable ICS or JB rom for my daily driver. Can I just Odin a OTA Stock Debloated Rooted Rom back it up then go from there?
Right now this phone's radio will turn off for a few seconds at times. This morning my phone rang so I answered it that's when the phone's radio turned off so that made me hang up on a Customer when I answered the Phone=NOT GOOD
I want/need something that fully works. Like the GPS works & the radio don't turn off n all that jazz.

A daily driver stock JB ROM will be leaked at some point today. Rooted versions also in the works. Keep an eye out for FK23 threads.
Also the radio problem looks like the eg30 radio. There was massive loss of signal on that one. Try something more updated. Like fi27 modem.

:good: Alright thank you guys.
So I can flash what ever rom I want using the one click odin method? Like this Stock rooted rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229
I personally would look for fI27 but yes. And one click is always recommend if your not 100 percent sure of what your doing.
