Google cards shows up repeatedly - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have enabled sports, weather and traffic cards on Google now.
Sports card appear probably a day before the match. One notification is enough for me. But even after I dismiss it from the notification bar I keep getting it all day. The same thing happens for couple of days after the game.
Similar behaviour happens for the traffic card. Even though I am in the same location (in my office) I keep getting traffic card to my house even after dismissing. Shouldn't this pop up if there is a change in my location.
Didn't find any option in Google now settings. Any idea how u can change the frequency of Google cards

Weather will not sync properly - any ideas?

had this problem yesterday and it has come back.
Everywhere is either sunny or clear.
Temperature at default location is different than if I set that location as an addition.
It doesn't seem to update - last night it was telling me it was sunny at midnight. Doesn't update even when manually synced.
Have checked all obvious sync issues in menus - and location is set, etc.
Have closed app, have cleared caches
Have factory reset - problem recurs.
Any thoughts? Conflict with another app? I haven't downloaded anything that (explicitly) syncs though, apart from the Maps update.
I've also had problems with Weather syncing. Again, the added locations update fine but for the "where I am" part there is no weather display. This is intermittent but it doesn't seem to be related to the location.
Might it be connection problems? i.e. the Desire can't tell where it is? If it gets two mast lock-ons rather than three, it might compromise location update?
Perhaps, but odd it used to work at home and now doesn't and odd it gives two different reports on the weather at the same place?
I am going to wait and see if it sorts itself, somehow, and then consider a return as it really narks me that it doesn't work.
I am experiencing exactly the same symptoms as described by al89nut.
What apps have you installed Entropy? If a conflict, perhaps we can narrow it by seeing what we have in common?
Can someone whose Desire works try something?
Add where you are to the weather widget (so you are in Southampton, add Southampton) and tell me if it gives exactly the same temperature and the same weather forecast for the future as the homescreen (inc temps)
Ta
Well sometimes it does coincide but most of the time it shows either "unavailable" or the sun instead of the moon or weird temperatures.

The only ones we share are Astro, Docs to Go and Goggles, plus possibly currency convertor if XE.
For me this all started when I could only connect as a disk drive and as not charge only, so eventually I went for a factory reset. I am fairly sure it worked 100% before that, but some of the apps were loaded shortly before.
I have just tried removing the widget (HTC clock) from the homescreen and re-installing it on another. And setting the news to sync automatically. Who knows?
EDIT Nope
Current = 57% and clear
Added same location= 52% and partly cloudy.
At least it isn't sunny at night
EDIT 2
manual update and they agree - first time. Maybe sorted by reinstalling widget
Now the effing thing tells me I am currently in a town 10 miles away.
I am getting roundly sick of this buggy piece of **** phone
So it's most certainly not the other apps. I just wonder why not many more people seem to be experiencing this bug.
I have a weird problem with the weather,
I dont auto update the weather but i do it manually when I wake up, i noticed something interesting, not sure wither its real or just my imagination
At morning i sync it (Home WiFi) it shows the Sun, and then i go work and i dont come back till late noon, i get back, take a shower watch some TV and then play with my desire again (by that time it is around 7:00 PM)
when i see it, i see the same temperature (cuz i didnt sync it since morning) but I dont see the Sun, ... i see the moon! and I didnt connect to WiFi except in the morning.
Anyone have this? is it a feature that checks the time of the day and shows Moon or Sun? or is it just the phone syncing offline? lol
The daytime default is to show the full sun, eg if it can't grab data for whatever reason). Guess at night it is the moon. So if mine can't update, it says it is sunny everywhere. But sometimes it is sunny at night.
I now think it is a signal lock issue.
I have the same problem, i travel a lot for my work and when i am in an other area it will show no weather for it and it will not auto update.
I did notice that if you update manually once, the checkbox "update automatically" will be unchecked. So obviously it will not autoupdate.

That doesn't happen for me -you mean the icon on the weather widget, the little circle on the left hand side? If I hit that, update and then check in application, sync is still enabled.

[Q] Has Anyone Had Problems with the HTC Weather Widget Showing the Wrong Location?

Has anyone had a problem with the HTC Weather Widget not showing the correct location?
Mine used to work quite well (updating to different location as I moved around) and all of a sudden it got "stuck". Now it just shows one particular town no matter where I am.
I tried removing and re-adding the widget, turning on GPS, rebooting, updating roaming towers, etc and nothing seems to work. I did some googling and other people have reported it with the Incredible and a couple other HTC devices but no real solution. I am running the Virtous Rom but I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Anybody have any ideas?
Does it say 1/2 or 1/1?
If it says 1/2 or 2/2 then swype up and down and it changes locations.

Ah no i mean the "current" location that is suppose to be automatically selected based on what I guess is the local cell towers.
Basically the one that is 1/2.
Had that and fixed it
I had it happen seemingly by itself until I realized I had been messing with a few things to try to max battery life. Tap the weather, go to it's menu, hit settings and see if update automaticlly is checked. If not then check it and back up and hit settings again and see if it unchecked itself cause thats what mine did. If so then you must go to phone's settings, accounts and sync, turn on background data, auto sync, and weather. All fixed. Check Your update interval and make sure it is often enough as well. Hope it helps.
Been looking everywhere on how to fix this, Finally got the right answer, big thanks to madman34
Random
I'm glad you found a fix. I do notice sometimes (a couple times since I bought my DInc) that I get random weather locations like, Japan. This is probably more of a network/gps error and not the actual weather app itself.

GTalk and push notifications stopped working, help?

Alright, I have a truly annoying problem with Galaxy Nexus. After every month or two of use my phone loses completely the ability to connect to gTalk and push cloud to device messages. I'm not using any strange apps either and have not installed anything for a while.
My connection bars become grey and before someone suggests that this is an account issue and that 'I have lost connection to Google servers' then no: bars are only grey on Galaxy Nexus when gTalk and C2DM fail. Bars are grey but I can still access Market and Gmail and my phone still syncs Calendar and Contacts.
The only solution so far has been to completely reset the phone. Which is an epic annoyance. I've tried re-adding Google account and no success there either.
What can I do without having to reset my phone again?
So there is no solution whatsoever? It is impossible to fix this without having to reset the phone?
I ended up resetting the phone again and it is truly annoying, since this problem happens only after a month or two and nothing triggers it and the connection does not return even though sync with Google accounts works perfectly.
Might the problem be that I change my SIM card whenever I visit Finland and Google has some unknown security flag that blocks C2DM when same device is using different SIM's frequently?
Because this is insane and I feel like I can't do anything about it.
Don't have your problem, bars turn grey here every now and then but always go back to blue after a few seconds.
Two SIMs might certainly confuse the syncing. Go to Google Dashboard and make sure your phone is listed there. Only the IMEI is listed in Dashboard, though. In the Market it also lists your provider and number, I think.
Obviously you have checked all your accounts&syncing options in the ICS settings?
Rebooting and switching to airplane mode oder WiFi and back does not work either?

Nope. It's happened three times now since I've owned the phone and I've not installed anything fishy, nor do I run any monitoring and task manager or battery saving apps. I basically run all Google services, as well as Twitter, Facebook and some games. I haven't recently installed anything new.
Airplane mode did not work, WiFi or Data modes had the same issue and reboots made no difference either. Internet itself works, auto sync keeps working and Calendar, Gmail and Android Market work exactly as expected. But gTalk and push notifications stop working and do not return even in 24 hours.
The only thing that I do know that I do differently from an average user is that I switch SIM card either for every weekend or every other weekend when visiting my girlfriend in Finland, since I'm using a pre-paid SIM there (that also has data connection).
I don't have any sync or push notifications problems when using either SIM and both have an unlimited data plan. But after about 1-1.5 month suddenly gTalk and push notifications stop working entirely.
As a result I am keen to think that this must be about the SIM card switching (it happened after SIM card switch or close to it), but I don't know how to fix this. Phone reset does work, so it is certainly something that has not got anything to do with my Google Account.
I even tried clearing data and force stopping all Google-related services and apps and rebooted then. It asked for my account information and whatnot again, but the connection stayed grey while other Google account related services were running without issues.
It's a serious pain to reset my phone every month or two.
I am convinced that this is a bug in Android and reported it here.

How do I get dismissed Google now cards

I'm traveling in a foreign country and Google now added three cards to my menu. One for translate, one for currency and one for local time at home. Well I accidentally dismissed one and couldn't get it back even after confirming it was turned on and selected in the settings.
Here's what I tried:
I turned it off and back on.
I cleared data with titanium backup (cleared Google search app).
I cleared cache in recovery.
Dismissed them all (probably the worst idea).
Any ideas?
Thanks and sorry for the sloppy post. The xda app won't work for me today and the browser is going crazy on my phone.

Google Now is not as intelligent as it wishes to be, from my own experience I'd recommend you google for the things you want using search on your phone, so search for currency exchange, etc.. it will learn that you want that stuff again.
Try going in to GNow > menu > refresh
(it works for bringing back dismissed weather cards, I've not tried it for anything else)
try connecting to different mobile operator.
This worked for me on my current travels in Vietnam. I had dismissed the currency exchange rate card and I couldn't figure out how to get it back for a week. Today after I had switched to a couple different mobile operators to find data connection the card reappeared.
I haven't tested it again cause I really need those cards to work the next couple of days.
Let me know if that is actually the answer.
I'm loving GNow for the "think for me" reasons, but the second you get out of your usual, it screws it up.
For instance, my job requires me to be at my main office 2-3 times a week. However, sometimes I travel to one of our remote offices. This replaces my usual desk "traffic" card with the remote office traffic card, which I could care less about. The only way I can get the usual office card back is by using navigation from home to work or something.

Sorry for the delayed response but I've been on the road a ton the last few days. I tried what everyone said and what ended up working was just waiting.
As odd as it sounds i guess you can't get it back immediately but if you wait it will come back.
Thanks for all the responses.

Fix: After trying to refresh it updated the card on GNow home page, but not on the swipe down menu from Android bar. I fixed this by x'ing the search results for weather on GNow home and then by actually turning the service off and deleting location data. When I brought it back it asked me the startup questions. While it did bring back the weather card I lost to the drop down, it reset everything else I had.
My weather cards have been missing for 3 days now. I had them the first 4 days I had Jelly Bean...now it has been gone since. I can't get it back no matter what I do. I even cleared the cache...restarted the phone several times...asked the weather repeatedly... the Weather card is just gone. Anyone have this issue?

Goto Google Now > Settings and Turn Google Now OFF. It will show a message that it will reset the Google Now Cards. Say Turn Off and then go back turn it on. Re-Configure your cards.

[Q] Google Now only shows weather card and nothing else

Like the title said, my google now only shows weather. I've enabled everything from search history to location history and for some reason all I ever get is the weather card and nothing else. I've also set all the other different cards on the highest priority, so I don't think that's the problem either.
Have you turned Google Now off and on? Have you appointments within the next 7 days and are you near a traffic station?

You need to use Google.Com as your search and set language to English.
I've found that Google Now cards basically show up whenever they feel like it. However, each card can be turned on/off individually, and on top of that there's also a 'Card Appears' setting. Check the 'Card Appears' for the missing cards and see if you meet the criteria for them to show up. If you don't (e.g. you're not near public transportation or haven't searched for flights recently) then they won't appear. I remember that for weather Card Appears is generally set to Always, which is why it's the only one you ever see.
You can also sometimes hit 'Show more cards' towards the bottom of Google Now in order to coerce it to show more.
