had this problem yesterday and it has come back.
Everywhere is either sunny or clear.
Temperature at default location is different than if I set that location as an addition.
It doesn't seem to update - last night it was telling me it was sunny at midnight. Doesn't update even when manually synced.
Have checked all obvious sync issues in menus - and location is set, etc.
Have closed app, have cleared caches
Have factory reset - problem recurs.
Any thoughts? Conflict with another app? I haven't downloaded anything that (explicitly) syncs though, apart from the Maps update.
I've also had problems with Weather syncing. Again, the added locations update fine but for the "where I am" part there is no weather display. This is intermittent but it doesn't seem to be related to the location.
Might it be connection problems? i.e. the Desire can't tell where it is? If it gets two mast lock-ons rather than three, it might compromise location update?
Perhaps, but odd it used to work at home and now doesn't and odd it gives two different reports on the weather at the same place?
I am going to wait and see if it sorts itself, somehow, and then consider a return as it really narks me that it doesn't work.
I am experiencing exactly the same symptoms as described by al89nut.
What apps have you installed Entropy? If a conflict, perhaps we can narrow it by seeing what we have in common?
Can someone whose Desire works try something?
Add where you are to the weather widget (so you are in Southampton, add Southampton) and tell me if it gives exactly the same temperature and the same weather forecast for the future as the homescreen (inc temps)

The only ones we share are Astro, Docs to Go and Goggles, plus possibly currency convertor if XE.
For me this all started when I could only connect as a disk drive and as not charge only, so eventually I went for a factory reset. I am fairly sure it worked 100% before that, but some of the apps were loaded shortly before.
I have just tried removing the widget (HTC clock) from the homescreen and re-installing it on another. And setting the news to sync automatically. Who knows?

Now the effing thing tells me I am currently in a town 10 miles away.

I have a weird problem with the weather,
I dont auto update the weather but i do it manually when I wake up, i noticed something interesting, not sure wither its real or just my imagination
At morning i sync it (Home WiFi) it shows the Sun, and then i go work and i dont come back till late noon, i get back, take a shower watch some TV and then play with my desire again (by that time it is around 7:00 PM)
when i see it, i see the same temperature (cuz i didnt sync it since morning) but I dont see the Sun, ... i see the moon! and I didnt connect to WiFi except in the morning.
Anyone have this? is it a feature that checks the time of the day and shows Moon or Sun? or is it just the phone syncing offline? lol
The daytime default is to show the full sun, eg if it can't grab data for whatever reason). Guess at night it is the moon. So if mine can't update, it says it is sunny everywhere. But sometimes it is sunny at night.
I now think it is a signal lock issue.
I have the same problem, i travel a lot for my work and when i am in an other area it will show no weather for it and it will not auto update.
I did notice that if you update manually once, the checkbox "update automatically" will be unchecked. So obviously it will not autoupdate.

That doesn't happen for me -you mean the icon on the weather widget, the little circle on the left hand side? If I hit that, update and then check in application, sync is still enabled.

Hi all!
I'm loving the Desire so far, except for this one little thing...
I have all the update schedules for updates to friend stream, news, email, facebook, twitter etc etc all set to the most frequent level, but they very very rarely update.
I am on T-Mobile and I have 4 or 5 bar HSDPA connection most of the time.
Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

*Friend stream (Facebook and Flickr) and weather update as per set schedule but it doesn't update the widget also, only when you look at it for a few seconds.
*Mail works perfectly and updates "push" mode, there's no schedule for that
*News is the one that never syncs no matter what time I set it to.
Anyone else?
I've double checked all my settings and they seem to be fine, Hotmail is set up properly. Could this have anything to do with killing the apps using advanced app killer?
I used to have this problem but it seems to have fixed itself on the update to .11 (T-Mobile)
Mine doesnt update either, unbranded.. running orange.. on latest update!
It's one of the main reasons I bought the phone and it just doesnt do it, how frustrating!
I added the email widget to the main desktop, seems to work better now.

Friendstream and email seem to work fine with mine but I also have the same problem with the news widget.
It never seems to update even when I set it to after every 30mins
Perhaps HTC will release an update to fix shortly

I think it is because you are using an app killer, try adding them to the ignore list, and see if that helps?
Has anyone had a problem with the HTC Weather Widget not showing the correct location?
Mine used to work quite well (updating to different location as I moved around) and all of a sudden it got "stuck". Now it just shows one particular town no matter where I am.
I tried removing and re-adding the widget, turning on GPS, rebooting, updating roaming towers, etc and nothing seems to work. I did some googling and other people have reported it with the Incredible and a couple other HTC devices but no real solution. I am running the Virtous Rom but I don't think that has anything to do with it.
Anybody have any ideas?
Does it say 1/2 or 1/1?
If it says 1/2 or 2/2 then swype up and down and it changes locations.

Ah no i mean the "current" location that is suppose to be automatically selected based on what I guess is the local cell towers.
Basically the one that is 1/2.
Had that and fixed it
I had it happen seemingly by itself until I realized I had been messing with a few things to try to max battery life. Tap the weather, go to it's menu, hit settings and see if update automaticlly is checked. If not then check it and back up and hit settings again and see if it unchecked itself cause thats what mine did. If so then you must go to phone's settings, accounts and sync, turn on background data, auto sync, and weather. All fixed. Check Your update interval and make sure it is often enough as well. Hope it helps.

I'm glad you found a fix. I do notice sometimes (a couple times since I bought my DInc) that I get random weather locations like, Japan. This is probably more of a network/gps error and not the actual weather app itself.
Weatherbug, Weather channel, Flixter, none of the tiles are updating. I don't know why.

Just checked Flixster, and Enable Live Tile is ticked.I presume I did that when I first got it a week or so agnly after reading this thread did I think about it.It has never been a live tile since I pinned it to the homescreen on day of download.
All of mine stopped working recently, too. My Weather Channel and Stock tile are stuck at the same spot they were several days ago. My Focus also forgot all my passwords and I had to reenter them. I think I have to hard reset, but since there's no way to back up text messages now I'd really rather not do that.

I sucked it up and did a hard reset. Everything's updating normally now. MS really needs to come up with a solution for backing up text messages.
One nice feature I discovered in the process is that the Zune software keeps a cache of the transcoded files, so syncing 10GB of stuff was super quick. I go with 320kbps MP3 on the HTPC and bump that down to 192 on the phone.
I have had this issue before, when turning off WiFi at the office to reduce battery drain (since we have a hidden WiFi) and when enabling it back it just won't update, most of the time the internet connection is poor to non-existent on 3G or on WiFi at home (HD7 here)
Just a soft reset did the trick

I started having the same problem with the weather apps, before I returned the HD7 that I had.

I am also facing the same issue with weather apps. First i thought weather bug was not working and reinstalled it couple of times. Also tried weather channel and no use.
email push works fine.
You can tell if it's a push problem or not by testing out the Find My Phone option from your Live account online. If it says it can't use push notifications, you might have to hard reset.
i went to live account and clicked ring the phone and it didn't work for first time, tried again and worked.
i'm seeing the same "no update" behavior with Weather Bug, but Weather Channel is working fine. glad to know it's not only me with this issue. also, i'm able to ring my phone, so i don't know that my issue is "push" related.
Live tile server
Hi all
A live tile needs a dedicated server. If there is a problem with that server then the live tile will stop working. That is nothing to do with the device.
The Weatherbug live tile server seemed to have an extended period of down time but has now come back online again.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't live tiles only work if the application is tombstoned?
all 3rd party apps automatically get tombstoned/killed when they aren't visible. the live tile is a separate service and has nothing to do with the state of the application itself.

First, all Live Tile updating is pushed through microsoft's servers. So if something stops updating it could be an error at the 3rd party source or with microsoft's server, or with your carrier's connection with microsoft's server.
Second, currently with Phone 7 Only 15 applications can register for push notifications per device.

I guess you are right, this morning all my live tiles are working again with the exception of Beezz, and I think it's a problem on the application server.

Facebook and Weatherlive still not working. This sucks. The only time they update is when I manually launch the apps.
At times I think the live tiles get stuck for a day or two. This seems to be considerably less with Mango and Mango enabled apps, however.
I don't know if Facebook is working now, but it was yesterday.
WeatherLive has refused to automatically update since I installed it. I don't think the problem is on MS's end.

Well it's been 10 days and bth apps have been uninstalled twice. There my only two apps that I turn on live tiles for.
If you look at the thread posted by the OP you'll see comments that the problem is still present.
I have been experiencing issues with Live tiles for my Whatsapp and Facebook app for around 2 weeks now.
If you have too many apps using push notifications, they stop working for some reason - I can't remember what the limit is, but try turning off push notifications on some apps and see if that works.

Weather Live refused to automatically update the live tile. I have Hong Kong Weather installed and it can automatically update the live tile with the current weather together with the update time stamp. This is not OS issue but the application problem. Weather Live needs to study and push the update to the exisiting buyer.
I've received 7.0 update on my nexus 5x (no beta or other), installed and done a reset, i've two bugs: evry time i remove the voice assistant (i don't use it) the microphone icon on lockscreen disappears like i wanted, if i shutdown device that will reset even if in settings there's no voice assistant, removing telephone icon and changing again with microphone, next bug is the real impossibility to sync chrome with desktop one, i get no bookmarks or other, tryed manual sync etc, nothing, any suggest?
Edit: The weather widget can't be resized, only 3x1 even if 4x1 >>> 21/09 Solved with last update of news and weather app.
Edit 16/09: the sim menù that normally is in the app drawer appears and disappear on turn on/off device. (note: battery life is a bit better from one week use)

Don't know about voice assistant bug as I use it but Chrome syncs up just fine. I see all my bookmarks, history, and tabs. Maybe try logging out of Chrome on your desktop and logging back in. And maybe the same thing for your phone.

Ever since I updated to Android 7.0 I was unable to use file transfer or ADB. This has to do with my phone for sure. Not the drivers on my PC.
My Wifi drops and reconnects whenever I take the phone out of my pocket and open an app that uses data. My data usage has gone up significantly with the Wifi drops. Appears there's others having problems on google product forums with no workaround at this time.
Any help would be appreciated!

Chrome works for me but what weather widget are you talking about, I don't have any weather widget on my phone except for the New & Weather ones.

One of possible fixes I can think of is to open your wifi settings and look for "Keep WiFi on during sleep". If you had set it up correctly before update it shouldn't change but who knows.
If above doesn't help, I think the problem is located somewhere in system files but other than searching for it, I suggest you to do a full wipe and clean install

It appears 4x1 for me, just remember that the phones screen is 5x5 so even 4 can't fill it completely

I'm experiencing the same problem and I'm not the only one. Do a search on 'nougat wifi problem' and you'll get several hits. Unfortunately, no real solutions. Google advises a reset to factory settings, but that doesn't help everybody. They also tell to reset network settings. This does seem to help me, but when I start manually adding/saving networks and I hit 12, I will loose all visible networks and when I turn WiFi off and on, the device keeps on scanning for networks.
An "issue" (221056) was opened at code.google.com/p/android, but it's been more than 2 weeks and Google still hasn't resolved the situation...

Weather widget bug solved
I don't know if this is a bug or a feature but it actually annoys the hell out of me. While on the lockscreen, pulling down the notification shade (pulling down from the status bar) doesn't expose the quick toggle settings, instead it attempts to pull down the entire notification shade (if there are any notifications) or the quick settings panel. Cool. Whatever. Except the entire Notification Shade or Quick Settings panel comes down and then immediately retracts up. Swiping down from the status bar again results in the same behavior. I can do this over and over until I finally get angry and unlock the phone, even though all I wanted to do was turn off Bluetooth or something. So stupid.
