@Football4PDA: "HTC might started rolling out update..." - HTC One X

I guess he's refering to the highly anticipated JellyBean updated for HTC Smartphones.
No updates available over here yet. Anyone?
Note: For those who don't know, Football is a well known HTC developer, who revealed details in early Octobre of the just seen in the wild HTC Incredible Droid X (The International version of the J Butterfly)

Gingerbread OTA update appears to be beginning / ROM Dump?

http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=69415587
It looks as if the OTA update for Sense 2.3 has started to come through. I'm in the process of asking the one who got it to dump the ROM.
It's not Gingerbread, it's the 2.29.xxx.x version that started to roll out yesterday for many users.

That's not what the thread is about. Someone is saying they got a 2.3 update on their unbranded Desire to Gingerbread.

Oh Sorry my BAD well I am waiting for CM Team and AdamG that soon gingerbread AOSP Rom will be in our hand.
AdamG promises that he's waiting for gingerbread as soon as it's out he's gonna update Oxygen 1.0 to Gingerbread platform for us that's why he kept it so much minimal.
Similarly CM team we know their abilities and Cyanogen and Kali they are truly the most brilliant ones and blessed one. I know soon very soon we will be enjoying gingerbread on our desire as Nexus one will get it very 1st and our Desire is closest brother to Nexus One
Gingerbread on the Desire, in same day as Nexus????
Hard to believe.

Stop being so smug and just read the damn link.
Very unlikely that it is gingerbread.
Oke this is getting sad, he admits his update is 28mb. There is no way that gingerbread is so small, second, like mentioned before in this thread, there is a HTC update 2.29.405.2 which happened to roll out around this time and is also 28mb, third the desire is a sense phone and it would be extremely unusual for HTC to release a senseless update for it.
It was fun while it lasted, but it will be a while before we see gingerbread on the desire officially.
i'm getting too.

It's not about being smug, it's about using common sense.
How many people do you think are on here with a WWE unbranded Desire? There's 100's.
What do you see?
People posting about receiving notification of the 2.29 OTA - Yes
or
People posting about receiving notification of the Gingerbread OTA - No
So either his guy is the third coming of Jesus and HTC has only decided to push Gingerbread to his phone or he's either confused and/or talking a load of crap.

[REQUEST] AOSP Android 4.0.4 | Stock look, feel, colors | Softbuttons

Hi guys,
I really like this new phone from HTC and I'm seriously considering of buying it. However, even with all the ICS improvements, I still like the original and pure googlish android 4.0 experience more than the new sense. Do you think that a fast, clean and smooth pure-ICS rom will be avaiable soon on the HTC One X? You know...I think HTC published a lot of drivers these days, so I assume it wouldn't be too difficoult to build a clean and simple ICS rom from sources...
Anyway, I hope the answer to this topic will come as a new thread containing directly some interesting download links ;D
Thanks!
A pointless thread in the Developement forum.
I'm sure we will se a CyanogenMod ROM but not because of your request..

You aren't funny. At all. I come from a wonderful experience within the Nexus development area of xda (I've got a N1), and I wanted to start sharing some ideas here in the mind of getting this HTC in the near future. I guess some people here think to be god only for the higher experience or...whatever, and they enjoy themselves answering like as more as possible.
Overall...yes, you've got a result now. I'll probably get a Galaxy Nexus, but surely not for sense-related tastes... just to avoid the need of talking again with people like you. You could have answered "surely CyanogenMod will fit your needs, buy this awesome device and you won't wait long! ;D", and you would have even so 'closed' the request, but with a smile.
A word is enough to the wise
I don't think you're wise enough anyway. You're spamming answering like that, not me. I've made an answer. Nothing forbidden or...whatsoever.
p.s.:CyanogenMod is still unavaiable for many devices that have gingerbread/ICS very well-developed from other devs. Usually, CM comes months after a stable release (official or not) has been shared. On the N1, we've ICS fully working (incl. HWA), and CM devs said we won't get their 'v.9' almost surely.
That's all.
EDIT: I think people should ask about future developments...to developer. Why should I be answered from the 'general section' users? Why should they know if developers are now or are planning of working on a pure ICS release??

I felt a decision: I won't buy the One X, the HTC Wildfire is a better smartphone without so many spamming in the forum there..

[Q] Will we have Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)?

Hi, the question is very simple... do you think we will get Jelly Bean on our HOX? If yes, do you think we will get it in a reasonable amount of time, say before the end of the world? ;-)
I think the interface is already smoth on the HOX, but if it gets faster as they say in Jelly Bean, then we will have a really great phone :good:

I think we will..from what i can see on this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737736
This is a good sign..
Of course we will get android 4.1
Question is when
I have NO doubt we will get Jelly Bean on our lovely phones, but as someone already mentioned, the big question is when.
If HTC release 4.0.4 soon I can wait a while though, since it seems to make wonder with our phones!
@Op,
Jellybean threads enough don't you think?
Use the >> SEARCH button please and stop clutter the board with all this non saying nothing to learn threads.
Use an existing thread, read the forum rules!
Besides that, I think this question should belong in Q&A section rather then general.
The HOX being HTC's flagship device and direct updates from HTC, will definitely get it. I'm not waiting for HTC though, in a couple of weeks there should be some stable ports.

I think the best way to know if and who will give get the JB update is to go to this page:
https://start.htcsense.com/#device/onex
It will only show countries which have JB update, because this is the part of new Sense 4+ which comes only with JB update. It is prerequisite for JB update.
NOTE: when you visit the page it will redirect to:
https://start.htcsense.com/#countries
If you refresh the page after that you will get country list for HTC One X+ which is available globally and already comes with Sense 4+.
You have to enter the above url again to see list of countires for our One X.
Thanks . But lets not bring in countries or carriers who will or have yet to receive the update. Then we'd have a giant debate going on and on about why HTC sucks by delaying the update. Still, appreciate the effort :highfive:
My observation is that JB seems to charge up faster than ICS. Anyone else notice this ?

I have questions:
Is the Battery Percentage available in Statusbar in the final ROM (lets say 3.14.707.24)?
Can camera pictures be taken by pressing anywhere on screen?
My thought concerning the delay: As far as I read in forums, there is still an issue withe wakelock, reulsting in unnecessary battery drain. Maybe it has to be sorted out.
What is your guess, is 4.1 the next 2.3? I mean, you can't just step forward in versioning, there is somehow the need for adopted software development to have a somehow common base? I always see the need for compability updates in apps, when it comes to higher android versions, not only from 2.x to 4.x, but also in between 4.x .
I'm kind of annoyed of the steady changes in android versions, where no real innovation is taking place (especially considering 4.2 ...)

Ah well,
I was hoping for something earlier but Mark Moons wrote some weeks ago that Santa had a little JB gift, or something like that.
So, i'm 98 % sure it will arrive before x-mas in Holland.
Anything earlier would be a nice surprise.
I keep hearing about JB bugs in the released OTAs.
What bugs did you experience, and how bad are they?
I am already at peace with the idea that we may get JB in January.
Just curious to find out more about the november release.
Is it really off the mark by that much?

We will all know the truth when the times come if HTC decides to release a pure AOSP 4.4 for us but we just have to manually do it ourselves. Doubt I would go for it since I didn't had a good time with the AOSP rom floating around in the forums
It's for the one x+, showed up on my BlinkFeed today.
