Can anyone please tell me why i should wait for TMo (besides pricing) and not just buy the international Note 2? Are there dramatic differences in the hardware and software? Will the International not have the capability to run on LTE (when TMo actually upgrades)?
Im not anerican so i cabt help on much part except what i know
Here is what i know.
International Note is HSPA+ but NOT LTE.

I've been Note 1 user since March and love the device and additional functionality, not to mention screen size. Thinking about switching to Note 2. But I need to make a decision on whether I will go with International Unlocked or with AT&T Branded. I am not all that interested in having LTE speeds, though if it is available I will use it. The question that I have is that I do like to have updated firmware available to install as it comes out, which is often enough with International version. With Note 1 International and AT&T were different devices with different hardware, so firmware for International would not work. What about Note 2? It's hardware will be the same, sans LTE radio. Would International firmware work on AT&T branded version?
So, to summarise, I am trying to decide on:
1. International with no LTE speed but better battery and quicker firmware update availability
2. AT&T Branded with LTE speed and probably lesser batter life and possibly usual carrier firmware upgrades slowness.
3. Since all Note 2 are the same hardware with exception of LTE radio same international firmware will work across all versions.
Anyone has suggestions?
Thanks,
Ok guys.
On the original AT&T Note the radios or modems could be flashed to make the Note work on TMO "4G."
From what I understand, there won't be any hardware difference between the US and International Note 2's except some won't have LTE. So I'm guessing they won't have a LTE chip/Antennae? Do you guys think after the US variants come out there'll be a radio/modem flash to get the International Note 2 on 4G here in the US/Canada?
Please excuse my ignorance.
Please give me some advice. I want to purchase the N7100 because of its developments, but i have also heard the radio frequency is different so T-mobile 4G network in the US is not available to use. I'm just wondering if i should just get the T-mobile version, which has less development than the N7100, instead.
What do you guys think?
Just get the tmobile version..n7100 may have more development but ports would be simple enough considering the variants have similar hardware

HSPA won't work on n7100. N7100 is quad band compatible, not pentaband on HSPA. You require the T889
hey guys,
I have an opertunity to get an S3 international edition, but i want to know from you guys if the international version is better than the T999 Tmobile version? Please let me know if there are any differences and if so, what they are and which one would you recommend getting?

I chose T999 because it has penta band HSPA - meaning, it gets full HSPA signal on both AT&T and T-Mobile. Performance wise I think it's kind of a toss up.

I agree with phositadc. As far as performance goes, its almost the same due to the US variants having 2 gigs of ram vs the 1 gig on the int'l. I also like having the choice of carrier between ATT & TMO and being able to fully utilize either network; the int'l version will only get edge speeds for data on TMO.
IMO if you don't spend a lot of time traveling out of the country, go with the T999.
Edit:
Comparison
Pretty much identical except for some frequencies used, ram, and CPU
I'm currently on T-Mobile and was wondering if both models of the unlocked Note 2 would work on T-Mobile's 42 Mbps HSPA+ network; will they? Also what are the differences between the two models? Does one also have a larger developer base than the other? These answers will influence which model of the note 2 I buy.
Am not sure, but i think that the N7105 is the LTE version of the international Non-LTE N7100 (witch is mine).

Using a Samsung N7100
Hspa+ is 3g so yeah it should work on international one.
And yeah n7100 has a significantly larger user base.
