You should buy an app called Better Battery Stats from Play Store. It will monitor your battery life so that if you do encounter problems with drain, you can identify which app or process causes it.
I say just use your phone normally at first. I haven't had any lagging with this phone. Then if you do have problems, post on XDA about it. Of course minimizing sync settings is always a good idea. Apps that constantly monitor for updates do cause battery drain and use the cpu. I mean things like facebook, google+ and so on. If you have those set to push updates and alerts to your phone live as they happen, you might experience battery drain and maybe lagging too.

[Q] App/service battery usage analyser

Anyone know of an application that analyses how much battery apps and services are using and at what rate? Tried looking at "batterydog" and "drain-o-meter", the latter seems to be what I'm looking for, but the output isn't friendly enough for me to interpret.
Does the community have any ideas?

Does that tell you which app is using what percentage of battery? I don't think so, please read the question properly before answring!

I apologise tof9, sorry, you were right. I've looked at the Battery Usage screen a number of times and have never seen marketplace applications listed. I looked again and found Maps at 25%! So Maps is definitely a hog. I would like to get historic analysis of these stats, will look on marketplace now if something exists which does that...
Actually I have all apps there, including xda app

Battery draining in sleep mode

Guys, in sleep mode, even with WiFi & Auto Sync OFF, the battery drains almost 10% through the whole night.
Last night it drained from 99% to 91% through the night without any usage.
Can someone throw some light on this issue?

If it is just a widget and not a battery saver, then no, i dont think so. Are you sure it is just a widget?
Do you have some other system-tuner-apps installed ?

Any similar free apps?
Hello, betterbatterystats is one of the most useful apps to check what drains your battery.
Basically you only check "Process wakelocks" and see which application "wakes" too often your phone.
Charge your phone and just before going to sleep, remove the charger.
BetterBatteryStats will take this action to start logging wakelocks ( default behaviour )
and in the morning, open BBS and see what process use too many wakelocks.

Did a quick check but didn't see one.
I strongly believe paying for applications that really add value to your phone to help developers continue their apps. Compared to the time you save by finding out which app is consuming battery the price tag of the applications is next to nothing.
I used betterybatterystats and it showed me that bluetooth was enabled. No where else did it show this, i restarted the phone and its no longer enabled. worth downloading if you have issues with the battery!

Facebook and FB Messenger dark versions?

Hey guys, I've been working on extending my battery life as much as I can so I use a browser (TUGA Browser) with a dark mode, which does noticably improve battery life.
Obviously TUGA isn't available in the appstore, is there any legit facebook versions anyone has made that are safe to use?
Thank you. I'm new to this so excuse all the questions

I'm doing okay with CM rom and standard Facebook and Messenger atm. Battery life is 7+ hours SoT atm, pretty good.
I havve battery monitor widget too and when usiing FB/messenger/tuga - I get roughly 10-12% battery drain per hour which is pretty good to be fair.

Well the more you use your phone, the longer your SoT will be, if you leave it on idle a lot or only use it for short bursts, eg 15 seconds to check something your SOT will be less, like yesterday i watchedd some youtube, didd ALOT of browsing, listened to music wiith screen on / stop watch (gym) and music + stopwatch together with screen on uses only 9% battery an hour so that adds like 2 hours for 18% battery on your screen on time.
Where as today i'm looking at around 5 hours as ive used 20% in a hour, just from checking/unlocking every now and again to reply to a msg, browse something really fast etc. and also had it on 50-100% brightness today cos im not going anywhere so may aswell have it that high and today/yesterday my LTE isn't working and getting poor signal(even though my carrier says nothing is wrong) raping my battery too.
Using the fingerprint scanner to unlock phone regularly to check something small uses battery a fair bit over time as far as i can see. 5 hours is good SoT either way.
Best thing was last niight, I put it on airplane mode @ 100% battery, 6 hours later woke up, 100% battery still. 0.03% per hour drain on battery monitor widget it said, lol.

You have to find out where the wakelocks coming from. The view you have is some let me say general or grouped point of view.
Install better battery stats, OPG pro or Wakelock detector free to find the wakeup reason behind those.

I have battery drains too, but with System or Logd when I'm out. Unfortunately, without root, you cannot get many usefull information (I have stock ROM, no root). Problems persists also after an Hard-Reset.
The only thing I can get with "adb logcat -d" , from PC, is a chatty system_server...

Alternatives to Notifybuddy

Since MIUI 11, a lot of us apparently have trouble making Notifybuddy work properly on our devices.
As it seems like dev of the app has not time / doesn't want to fix the app for MIUI users, I was wondering what was your go to app for screen notifications.
I tried several that don't work either, so I ended using "always on amoled" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newgen.alwayson).
I spent some time configuring it in the most minimalistic way and it does the job.
What are you using ?
