I'm on stock rom stock everything. Using go sms and nova launcher(if that make a difference). But I can send a mms from inside go but if I click the share link in the gallery then try and send it fails. Any idea?

That's because the stock gallery is built with the stock mms. It was coded to work specifically with the app. Plus as with much of the system it is all tied into the touchwiz framework together. You may have to try a 3rd party gallery as well.

Thanks I'll give it a try

Hey I flashed to a 2.2 custom rom and that rom uses the galaxy s messaging app and I wanted to see if someone can post the stock messaging app (green icon)? I'm not too fond of the new messaging app and would like to go back.

Look for the non bubble messaging app here in the theme section. If you can't find it both themes in my sig uses the none bubble app. You cab either flash the full theme it delete everything from the zip leaving mms.apk

I'm pretty sure it is a TW calender.....are you running a TW rom? I'm guessing not because you'd probably have that calender already. If you are running AOSP I don't believe you can get that calender to work.

It has to be installed as a system app.
Guess I'll have to search how to do that. I've tried pushing that file to my system app file with es explorer but no luck on it working

I'm finding a lot of apps I liked aren't working. or won't install. Not sure if blazer 1.7 is tw but that'd be a good reason
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
It must be something else, cuz when I was rooted stock I couldn't install any app, not even thru ADB, hopefully someone knows the issue.
I gave up on it. But with paranoid you can change the layout of each app. I changed it to 600px and now its big and looks just like the one I was trying to get.. so it works out in my scenario

Once again Blazer is TW, Paranoid would be AOSP. So I don't think you can get that calender app working on there.....
Touchwiz apps will not work on AOSP ROMS without tweaking. Touchwiz has its own framework required to run its apps. If you are trying to install this on a touchwiz rom, use rootexplorer, copy the app, move to /system/app, mount as "rw" and install, then long press the app, change permissions to rw,r,r
Anyone know if it could be installed on a stock Rom? And if so how I could go about doing that
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Yes it can b i stalled..just go to system/app and make backup of secmms.apk and then push cm10 mms.apk to it..change permissions to rw-r-r a reboot...voilaaa !!! Good to go.. remember to nandroid first in case .. i am currently using cm10 apk with quick reply on freesonic r7 rom ..

I had it for a while and I had issues so reverted back... just fc a few times a day. No issues for how long ^^^???

The only SMS app that hasn't crashed for me when I'm sending MMS is the stock one. If you only SMS pushing it to sys apps will work.
I've been using cm10 app with quick reply for a week with no issues. Backup and delete Samsung one and push cm10 one in system/app, fix permissions and reboot.

My issue was with MMS as well, incredibly annoying. That doesn't happen to anyone else? I much rather prefer the stock AOSP app.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Ok I take that back. Never sent a mms until I read the post above and yes it does crash.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
so the quik reply works on twiz ROMs? if it does .. that'll be awesome! I've always wanted that.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Ya it does but also borks MMS so no sending dirty pictures :-/ lol
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I couldn't get CM10 to work either. Cm9 does work great though. Got a couple crashes at first but after that it has worked flawlessly, MMS and regular text.
Oops......forgit to mention tha I am on FreeGs3 7.1. Also had it working on FreeGs3 7.1.1
Ya but it lacks so many neat features like quick reply and popups. :-/ good to know though.

Well I just use the touchwiz launcher on cm10. Only thing I miss is the smart motion stuff.

This isn't CM10 but is AOSP. I use this on my stock UVDLJA JB and it works near perfect. It is the only AOSP MMS.apk that I could get to work with TW JB and still have mms work properly. Been using it for 3 weeks, no problems except for the rotated picture problem in mms that I send. But I think that problem exists in all AOSP mms.apks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966869
While it is in the Sprint SGS3 forum, I use it on my TMOUS SGS3.
They way I installed it was; delete SecMms.apk from /system/app with root explorer, reboot, then copy the Mms.apk to /system/app, set permissions, then reboot.
Edit : nvm

Ok so I got mms to work, well sort of. I have the cm10 mms apk and also using handcent. I have cm10 notifications on, and handcent off. So whenever I receive a text, I get the quick reply in the notification bar, which is what I wanted. Now to send mms I use handcent and can send and receive mms, but if I even click on thread with an mms msg on the cm apk, it fcs. To me this is perfect because I still wanted to use handcent as my main sms app, but I wanted to have the quick reply in the notification bar.

I'm looking for a flashable zip of the stock touch wiz messaging app, I love my rom (Moar rom) but I don't care for the tweaks made to the messaging app, if someone could point me the right way that would be great, I didn't see anything when I searched.

In themes and apps. There's a aosp thread, I that he has a back to stock messaging. Delete the molded one before flashing. Or change it to .bak or whatever

I am currently running RootBox as my daily driver. Stock Android is truly amazing, only thing I missed from Touchwiz was the native gif support for the gallery. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the gallery app? Or a really good alternative to the native gallery app with gif support?
Thanks a bunch!

Well bad news is, Since Rootbox is AOSP/CM based, the Gallery App from Touchwiz will never run properly on it. I am looking for other Gallery Apps that do have native gif support.
I cant seem to find anything. That would be something awesome for a developer to create.
