Hi All,
My wife hates the Samsung Calendar. She likes the Google one with gapps that I have on my CM10 device. "Sure!" I tell her. "You can have gapps on your stock rom!" So, I root hers, leave the stock ROM, and install gapps. But, no Calendar app? The install completed successfully (from the ROM Manager perspective), but it just seems like none of the apps are there like they should be.
So, my question is, is it even possible to install gapps on the Samsung stock ROM? Or does it require a custom ROM?
Thanks for your time.
Chris
The calendar is on the market now. Have you tried that one?
Wow. Weird. I swear I checked for that just a few days ago. I guess I missed it, or it's super new. Thanks for the heads up though!
Chris
It was just added two days ago or so

hi there,
i just flashed my galaxy s2 from 2.3.6 to custom CRODO ROM and i was a little bit confused because there is just the old samsung calendar available...and not the new shiny ics calendar from google.
is there a way to download the ics stock calendar or did i miss something while installing the custom crodo rom?
thanks for helping!

did you ever resolve this issue? I am having the same problem with my Galaxy S 2.
Try flashing a AOSP rom like Slim ICS 3.0. When you flash a custom from that's based on any samsung rom, you will get the ugly Samsung/touchwiz calendar. I've tried installing the Android calendar on a Samsung based rom, but got a lot sync issues.
An AOSP rom gives a clean, slick 'google' look and feel.

Ok, Itried this method and it worked.
I downloaded AOSP calndar from Wanamlite.
before installing the .zip file, I made a whole backup using Titnium backup. Then I installed .zip file.
After Rebooting I've restored the application named:
[CALENDAR] Calendar Storage 4.0.3-****
where **** is ROM version (for me it is XWLP3).
If you check sync section you would see that Calendar Option is back again.
P.S. I'm not sure. but I guess this method will only work on Official and official-based ICS Roms
Hello XDA! Quick question, about 2 weeks ago I flashed Francos M2 and AOKP M4 and all is great, after that I flashed GApps and got all of them except the music app. Back then I really didnt care but now I would like the music app on there.. Why did the music app not come on after flashing and what can I do to flash Gapps again so that I have them all? (I dont really want to wipe all my stuff like when a rom is installed)
(A link to the latest Gapps and a small tutorial to flash just the apps would be great)
Thx in advance
Literally on the first page already.

Oh ****, sorry bout that I looked but I guess I didnt search the right thing.. Thanks anyways
was wondering if there was a way to install the s beam app for the gs3 rooted running a stock rom. i'm running aopk jelly bean and wanted to have the s beam feature. any ideas what to do?
If you want the stock Samsung apps like S Beam just Odin back to stock. From there root through Odin and as long as you don't flash any apps or anything you'll have a stock rooted ROM with all the S apps.
closest thing to s-beam right now afaik is the regular android beam. s-beam probably won't work on cm/aokp roms as it may be baked into samsungs framework. but then again maybe i'm wrong.
Ok now I'm thoroughly confused by the OP. He first asks if it's possible to have the S apps on a stock rooted ROM. Then it seems he wants it on a CM10 based ROM.
I think it's possible, but either not practical or the CM team has other priorities. When I first flashed CM9 on my SGS3 I was able to keep a few of the TW framework features, but lost them after a few days. No idea the cause or what actually was going in the background since I forgot to make a logcat and it's too late now.

I think he means stock android. I would go by what he says he is running. AOKP
Noob and want to try a Rom. A long time ago, I used Cy-Mod 7. Nervous about battery life, I reverted to stock. Having updated today to 4.1.2, I rooted devise using Causal Root. I have GooManager installed. I want to try a different ROM but still preserve battery life and performance (like everybody I suppose!). Any tips?
I'd love to be able to tether, too.
So...which one and how do I do it? (GooManager??)
Thanks in advance.
Head over to the Android Development Page and check out Quantum v1.15. It's a super solid rom made by a great developer. It's based of CM 10.2 (Android 4.3) and it really stable and has superb battery life. Tell them I sent you! :highfive:

Thanks. How do I install? My Galaxy s3 is rooted - running 4.1.2. As noted earlier, I do have GooManager installed. I don't have any backup software on the phone (though I'm not terribly sure there is anything I need to backup - given my contacts, email, etc., are backed up server and apps are backed upon Google Play).
Thanks!!!!
Any helps? I want to install custom rom (maybe kernel?) but I have no idea how to begin. As noted earlier, it is rooted (using Causal), running stock and I have GooManager on it. Aside from this, I'm lost. Thanks all!

If you're still "lost", then I suggest u do a lot more research/reading before flashing anything to get up to par on everything! Also, I wouldn't use goo manager to flash anything, either download to PC and transfer to phone, or download directly from the phone over WiFi, and flash in recovery. A little reading goes a long way, and will hopefully prevent any issues and need to start new threads stating this doesn't work, or that doesn't work. Good luck!!
Hello fellow One users, I just picked up my HTC One (came from Nexus) and started to root asap. I am on Bonestock v1.2 rom (awesome rom).
Now I am trying out this blinkfeed thing but instagram isnt on the list of apps you can add. Is it because of the rom or something is wrong with my phone? I didnt get to check it out when everything was stock either.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!
Never mind, found the problem... I didnt add it during the rom flash lol.
