So i though i would post up this thread on what everyone is getting as far as battery life.
I see so many kernels and roms and i figure a great way to test them out is by having different users post up some screenshots of what they experience. Good or bad. But make sure to add some detailed info to your screenshot.
What rom, what kernel, what tweaks.
Maybe tricks or what ever.
Anyways here ya go.
ROM: AOKP Milestone 3
Kernel: Leankernel 1.8.0. 180mhz exp 6
Tweaks: Leantweaks 5.1 - zram, swap optimized.
Syncing apps: FB, gmail, exchange, xover, a few others. im not worried about battery life and here is why

You have been mostly idle with screen off and 100% on wifi. Awake and Screen on bars don't lie.

Yeap still amazing to me lol... first the fact that we now have wifi at work, and second it actually lasts past lunch time.
Reminds me of the battery times i got when i had my envy... almost
Team BAMF rom, stock kernel overclocked by myself to 1.35 with a slightly different method than what most use, GPU overclocked, standard voltage. Standard battery was used.
Pretty amazing right?
Some history:
9 hours as asleep in airplane mode.
11 hours was some fairly heavy usage with a mixture of 3g, 4g, and wifi. Usage included browsing the web, chatting on groupme, texting, and BT audo streaming via Google Music.
Not so amazing now eh? The only thing amazing about it is that it shows that undervolting is a waste of time.
Can someone tell me what the battery life is on tgascoigne's AOSP Jellybean port is like?
I know it is still in DEV stage, but was wondering if there has been any signs of improvement/degradation with the use of the ROM.
Thanks

I would love to know as well. I'm on cyanogenMod 10 preview 8 I probably need to give it a couple of days before I worry but there does seem to be quicker drain than before. I did only flashed it last night. It does however work well at the moment.
Just check out the Battery Stats Thread in General, I just posted my stats there with tg's #26 build. I reached 5 hours screen time with just moderate texting and light calling and some music and a few minutes of browsing with 2g only.

How many of you guys use tethering with your Nexus?
As I sit here in the waiting room, waiting for my girlfriend, I decided to tether to my n7. After 1:40min my battery is down to 35%
Is this normal or is there something wrong?
What kind of battery life do you guys generally get when using rasbean and the trinity kernel?
Thanks guys for the feedback

This is normal usage with stock settings and stock battery. But I do not tether.

wow, I wish I could get that kind of battery life
I have to carry 5 batteries just to last the day...
But I remember getting 17 hours, but mostly standby with maybe 1:30 of screen time
are you using stock battery and have you tried the no-name brand?
I have read that custom roms/kernels make the 4G connection slow (I have noticed this effect on JellyBAM and other ROMs). Is there a custom ROM that allows full 4G speed, or do I have to use stock? Is it only the kernel I need to worry about?
Thanks.
4G is throttled on every AOSP ROM as far as I know, try a custom TouchWiz ROM, there are a couple new ones out

Cool, I'll do that. Thanks.
I was wondering this too. I'm on official CM 10.1 and its great. The only problem is the slow 4G speeds. I use to average 6Mbps now I never go past 1Mbps

I have an GS3 Sprint SPH-L710 using liquid smooth ROM, my battery life don't really last me all day, but whenever my phone is getting to 19-14% it goes completely dead, have anybody had/has the same problem and know a solution for it?

Yep. Use a Touchwiz ROM. Or if your attached to the ROM try using a battery calibrator.

I thought battery calibrating was a myth haha .
I had this problem before as well and switching OS's between TW and AOSP didn't help.
If your screen is flickering at around 15% and then your device cuts out, it also indicates the battery is gone for good.
I'd suggest getting a new OEM battery or go for a third party company like Gorilla Gadgets or iAnker Tech.
But flashing a TW ROM is other worth your shot as well if it'll fix it
