So i though i would post up this thread on what everyone is getting as far as battery life.
I see so many kernels and roms and i figure a great way to test them out is by having different users post up some screenshots of what they experience. Good or bad. But make sure to add some detailed info to your screenshot.
What rom, what kernel, what tweaks.
Maybe tricks or what ever.
Anyways here ya go.
ROM: AOKP Milestone 3
Kernel: Leankernel 1.8.0. 180mhz exp 6
Tweaks: Leantweaks 5.1 - zram, swap optimized.
Syncing apps: FB, gmail, exchange, xover, a few others. im not worried about battery life and here is why

Yeap still amazing to me lol... first the fact that we now have wifi at work, and second it actually lasts past lunch time.
Reminds me of the battery times i got when i had my envy... almost
Team BAMF rom, stock kernel overclocked by myself to 1.35 with a slightly different method than what most use, GPU overclocked, standard voltage. Standard battery was used.
Pretty amazing right?
Some history:
9 hours as asleep in airplane mode.
11 hours was some fairly heavy usage with a mixture of 3g, 4g, and wifi. Usage included browsing the web, chatting on groupme, texting, and BT audo streaming via Google Music.
Not so amazing now eh? The only thing amazing about it is that it shows that undervolting is a waste of time.

I usually get android system usage at 1%, hence im freaking out. Help please! Could it be because i use vipernod, v6 supercharged and savagezen kernel?

I would say it could be any number of things, however the question is, what have you changed recently? Any updates, new apps?
Also, with this increase have you seen any decrease in your battery usage? I will have 70+% android usage sometimes but battery doesn't drain any faster. This is a normal thing for AOSP especially. Someone noted that they had high A.S. usage on a stock Nexus 4g.
This may just go away with a days usage, but be sure to check for partial wakelock. This option is in Spare Parts app not sure if its built in to MIUI. The wake lock is what kills your phone, when an app goes bonkers and keeps your phone awake.

True. Miui has updates every Friday. So yeah, i updates last Friday. I switched from tiamat to savagezen just so i can fix the high usage but to no avail. I can't check battery partial lock because miui has battery stats issues right now.

In addition to what imheroldman stated, charging your device will oftentimes cause your android system usage to spike, but 20% is nothing to be concerned with.

For the past couple of weeks ive been having issues with the battery life on my G2. I used to get 12+ hours of battery life on it but now im only getting about 7 or 8. Ive tried recalibrating the battery, clearing the dalvik cache, and changing settings on certain apps but that hasnt seemed to make a difference. Ive noticed that at the end of the day, the android system takes up a huge chunk of my battery. Any ideas?

I've had the same issues as the builds of CM have gotten higher in numbers. The ROM that's given me the longest life is the stoock Gingerbread rooted ROM. I switched back to CM because oof the Text MMS & them always being Slideshow issues as well as no ability to stoop the phone from vibrating when I'm on a call. Same issue with CM too actually.
I'm bumping this because I feel your pain.
you can fix that in call settings you know!
Are you running CM7? If you are, open up spare parts and look at the battery information under Partial Wake. See if there's something tying up the system.
There are a few things listed but I dont think its anything that would eat a whole lot of battery. Should I be looking for something in specific?
Anything that's more than a sliver is eating the battery and keeping your phone from sleeping.
I'm getting 24 plus hours on glite which is aosp also. Maybe the battery is finally giving up the ghost. They do have a finite amount if charge cycles. If nothing else has changed and all things being equal to your 12 hour charge cycles maybe you could try a different battery.
My phone seems to be getting pretty awful battery life lately. Over 9 hours (only 1 hour of which was screen on time), it's down to 22% battery. The phone has been sitting (screen off) for a good hour or so and when I picked it up, it's warm as if it's been awake. Android OS is showing a Keep Awake time of over 2 hours - twice the screen on time.
Following the advice here, I dumped my wakelock.csv file (which is actually a tsv but that's another thread).

But frankly I have no idea what I'm looking for or, more importantly, what to do about it. What is "main" and why does it have such an insane active since time [is that a unix timestamp?]? Why do wlan_wake, keyevents, and event1-226 have such high counts? I'm usually pretty good with this kind of stuff, but I'm at a bit of a loss with how to interpret this data :/
I also have the CPU undervolted (Gummy 0.3.0 with imo's kernel) and running at 350mhz most of the time. And frankly, the battery lasts about as long as you would expect if the phone were awake all day at 350mhz.
There's the problem, though. It's running at 350mhz most of the time.
Now, I should clarify this by saying that I just (as in, a few minutes ago) disabled Google Talk, Google+, and the "backup to google's servers" setting and already it seems to have made a huge difference, so I THINK I may have already found the problem. Before doing this, 350mhz far outweighed "Deep sleep."
Thanks to anyone who can help!
So perhaps my post was pre-emptive but disabling those three things seems to have solved this. It's cool to the touch while idling, and more importantly, the battery seems to be doing great now. It was losing about 10% an hour and now it's about 0.5%/hour while sleeping.
Again, I disabled:
-Google Talk
-Google+
-Google backup (In Settings > Backup & Recovery).
I don't know which (if any one thing) did it but it's DEFINITELY better.
So there has been alot of controversy about battery life going around on this phone. Some get wonderful battery life while others suffer on barely getting half way through the day. Some of us are running custom roms with tweaked kernels. I'm curious to see the average amount of battery this phone gets. So I'm asking for everyone to post an image of their battery life and include if you are on a custom rom or kernel. Hopefully this will clear some things up!

While he was a bit harsh, Adreno is probably right. There are simply too many variables to accurately judge these things. Completely different usage patterns, different roms, different kernels, different apps, different providers, different locations, etc.
Just search out any of the 1000 threads on battery life if you want to try to get an average.
thanks for the tip
At least 4 hours screen time with:
Version: GSM GNex
ROM: AOKP Milestone 3 (power saver mode off)
Kernel: Lean Kernel
Battery: 2000 mAh
Frequency: 350/1200 Conservative
UV: Stock
3G/HSPA/LTE: 3G/HSPA and my network doesn't support 2G
What's off: BT, WiFi unless I'm home, Sync for Calender Contacts Browser and Photos.
Daily, I use: Netflix/Poweramp/Spotify/Reddit on my daily commute. Phone/Poweramp/Spotify/Reddit/Browser+ in between commute.

I can't seem to get the battery results people are claiming. It seems like I lose 10 percent usage per hour during the day. I am starting to think I might need to replace my battery. Last night I left my phone unplugged and It drained over 25 percent with 7 hours sleep. When I installed the rom I used the wipe flag. I haven't touched a CPU controller cause it was suggested not to.
How do I find out exactly what is draining the battery so much?
I heard about battery calibration. I have read about a few techniques. I have also read that it is a placebo.
I am not sure what to do. Here are some screens. The drainage doesn't seem normal.

Battery life really depends on the user much moreso than the rom. are you constantly using gps? google location? Wifi? Facebook sync? Twitter sync? Google talk? Other im's thru social hub? max screen brightness? constantly receiving calls and texting?
All of these factors influence your battery life. its probably not the roms fault.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I am not saying its the rooms fault. I am trying to figure out what is causing the drain. I don't use social hub or the Facebook aphp. Only thing I kesync is Gmail, contacts, calander. Also, I use gtalk. I don't GPS at all.
Something is draing the battery.
