Hi, I have the Wildfire S with Cyanogen 7.2 (the release from july this year) and I had no problems so far, but since yesterday it started behaving strange.
Each time I make or receive a call after a few seconds the screen goes blank and and I get two vibrates. Then each time I move the phone the screen comes to life and two more vibrates. THis will continue through-out the call
It is very annoying... and I have no idea how to fix it...
I didn't make any changes or updates or whatever it just started happening...
Try wiping the rom once.....it might help.....But remember to backup

What do you mean by wiping? the dalvik cache? will every thing still be there, except the cache of course, cause I've only wiped before installing roms and am not sure what really happens...
EDIT: A Factory reset fixed it, sooo it's not broken... but it would be great if I can fix it without flashing and installing everything all over again...
Any suggestions?

Hi,
First off, apologies if this doesn't belong here, getting confused as to where things should go, can someone move it if it's in the wrong place please.
I have Flashed the LeeDrOiD v2.2d ROM and when accessing the Stock browser it will randomly crash, it's a strange crash because normally a crash will mean that you will exit from the browser and next time it will load to the homepage, on mine though it will sort of crash but then load the page I was on, even if it wasn't my homepage, if I had any tabs open I would also lose all of those, which is how I know it's crashing.
This isn't specific to this version of the ROM though as I've had this since v1.4 or to any ROM because I've Flashed 3 different other ROM's (2 Sense and 1 Stock) and this still happens. I've asked before in the XDA LeeDrOiD thread and they said it could be related to backing up and restoring data whilst moving from Android 2.1 to 2.2.
What I have done this time though is not backup anything, no SMS, no system settings, nothing! I deleted everything off my SD Card, cleared the cache, then cleared the Dalvik cache, did a factory reset, Flashed the ROM and then Flashed the radio but still this problem exists, I haven't backed up anything this time, even created a new Google account so it didn't sync my contacts.
There's no particular website that does it, I've got the Flash setting to "On Demand", so that's not crashing it.
This is really starting to annoy me now but I can't figure out for the life of me why it happens, I've tried replicating it to narrow down the cause but I can make it happen one time doing it a certain way but then doing it that way again it'll be fine.
Has anyone got any ideas of how I can overcome this problem or how to Flash the ROM so that my browser will work correctly, this browser problem is the only problem I have with the ROM, apart from that it is superb.
To Flash the ROM I would do the following:
I go into the Recovery mode, wipe the Dalvik cache, then wipe the cache, do a Factory Reset and then Flash the Radio and then the ROM.
Isn't that supposed to completely wipe the phone and then anything Flashed from there is brand new, which is confusing if it is happening in different ROM's.
Also, the browser can crash whether I'm connected to a data plan/Wi-Fi or not!
Any help very much appreciated!
HTC Desire btw.
Anyone?
Someone must have an idea.
It has happend to me few times also, altho it seems preaty random but for me the latest version of lee it seems kinda laggy on stock hrowser, i even flashed the text reflow fix, i started to hate it on some forums since it was scrooling me back to the top of the page... welak with u'r problem and mine, no idea, but well u aint alone

In a strange way that's good to know mate, at least it's not just me.
Hopefully there's a fix to this problem, finding the cause is hard enough though!
Well, I've managed to narrow it down as much as possible, seems to happen more when downloading from the Market or the Internet connection switches from 2g, H or to WiFi.
I personally think it has something to do with the cache, once it starts happening it happens alot, a restart later and it probably won't happen for most of the day, it's like something leaks and builds up and then crashes the browser with a restart resetting everything.
Anyone got any ideas?
So I am having a really strange problem recently with my phone, was wondering if I should unroot and return it or if it is something I am doing wrong. Basically what it boils down to is if I power my phone off from the menu or pull the battery, etc. upon powering back up it just Hangs on the HTC Evo 4G white splash screen indefinitely. I have let it sit as long as 15 mins without booting before, having seen this before in the past I know not to panic now but I just reboot into Recovery and wipe my cache and dalvik cache every time I reboot and my phone reboots back into sense in no time at all.
I know this is not normal, is there something I can do to troubleshoot this problem or is this is a sign of hardware failure?

I've never seen that before. Interesting. What rom are you currently using? Do you have an unusually large amount of apps installed? The first thing I would do, is make a nandroid backup of your current setup, and then do a full wipe and flash a format all.zip, then reflash a different rom. Or just simply restore a nandroid of a known good setup, and see if the problem persists. If it stops, I'd say it was something specific to the rom/kernel/setup that you were running before. If it continues happening on a clean install of a different rom, then I'd probably unroot, restore to stock, and then see if the problem continues. If it does, take it to Sprint. If it stops, and everything is fine, re root it and start over. That's just what I would do, but I've never been presented with an issue such as that.
I appreciate the advice, I'm running Sprint Lovers right now been running it for a few months now, I don't have an unusual amount of apps installed but I did notice that the problem seemed to start occuring when I changed the Kernel. I will try your advice and see if that fixes the problem. I've been wanting an excuse to try the new Gingersense rom anyways.

If it started happening right after you swapped out the kernel, that could be the culprit. If you want to try the gingersense rom, I'll all for it, and will tell ya that they ran super incredibly smooth for a factory rom. However, if you don't feel like changing roms just yet, maybe try a different kernel. I'd be suspect of that, if the problem started shortly after changing to a different kernel. I say try out a gingersense rom, you shouldn't be disappointed (unless your phone still hangs at the splash screen upon reboot, lol).
Everything has been fine until yesterday morning, when at work I realised my phone was rebooting every 3 or 4 minutes.
I hadn't changed anything, I hadn't flashed anything, I don't O/C my phone. I'm usins AOKP Milestone 3 with Immoysen Kernel.
I've tried -
Reflashing AOKP with no custom kernel
Wipe & flashing CM9 Kang
Wipe & flashing MCR
When I tried to make a Nandroid of MCR (as it seemed to be okay for an hour or so) it gave an error when it got to backing up the data partition. Could their be a corrupt bit of memory there?
Also, at one point I think it might have reset while in recovery, which makes me think it's hardware, not software.
Today I've tried -
locking and unlocking the bootloader
Android_Revolution_HD_Super_Wipe_Lite
Wipe and flash AOKP B23
Generally it seems to be better after a wipe and a fresh install, for a little while, but then seems to start rebooting again later.
I locked and unlocked again around an hour and a half ago and all seems good at the moment, but I thought I'd post still to see if anyone else has had this happen or see if anyone has ideas of how to de-bug it should it come back?
I had this problem after upgraded to 4.0.2. Fresh install did solved this somehow but last week it came back again when dial starts...
Tho it seems un-checked all options in location services would not reboot during or after the call
Hope this info could help u
Thanks. Well, 6 hours since I locked the bootloader and unlocked it again (to wipe everything, including the SD storage) and it's not rebooted once. Looks like it's fixed *touch wood*
I have random turn offs... dunno if it relates. Its a little unnerving...and annoying. No roots, no unlocks, just vanilla 4.0.2.

Hello Guys,
Need some advice here.
I'm running Paranoid Android 3.99 since its release and just recently my phone has started acting strange, I am unable to unlock my phone resulting in having to soft reset, It seems when using the phone it keeps freezing, I.e i'm typing a text and it stops responding for a moment and then continues typing the letter i hit previously.
I just wiped the cache and davlik but that took far longer than normal, as if it froze whilst wiping.
Has anybody experienced this and recommend any fixes?

try a different rom with clean wipe and see if prob persist
I suspect this is my only option, I'm just a little concerned it seemed to effect CWM.
I will give this a try this evening once I have backed up my apps etc.

I have been looking for a solution to this problem for weeks and have found nothing that will fix it.
I am currently on CM11-M3, and have had the problem since 10.2. No matter what ringtone I select it will not play during an incoming call.
I have been testing with wheresmycellphone.com. Ehen a call comes in the phone will vibrate once and very rarely the ringtone will play for a fraction of a second, but most of the time there is no sound. I have noticed that the mute icon (speaker with a line through it) flashes in the notification area briefly the second the phone starts ringing.
Does it be behave the same way on other custom and stock ROMs?
Are you clean flashing?

I dirty flashed 10.2 from 10.1, I did a clean install when I switched to CM11, every flash since has been with a cache/dalvik wipe. I have not yet tried a rom beyond CM.
You should try another ROM, even if it is based on CM11 to see what happens.

I will when I get a moment. I need to be accessible for work right now so I can't risk any excessive off time just yet.

Well, I finally got off my ass to try fixing this again. I was going to try installing SlimKat, and as prep I wiped cache, dalvik and then factory reset. I rebooted to try receiving a call before I started work on flashing the rom and the phone now rings fine. I have no idea what changed, I had tried a factory reset on M2 and it didn't fix the issue. This is the first factory reset I applied to M3 though.
