CM9 Proximity sensor - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I am trying to get the proximity sensor working for CM9 as pressing a button after each call can be really annoying.
After doing some looking around I have found that the sensor is fully working on this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1854682
This is based on android 4.0.4, same as CM9...before I try, does anyone think its possible to port the driver from this ROM to CM9 to get the sensor working?
Any help with this is much appreciated!
.::. Sonic5317 .::.

That rom is based on the official "unofficial" release by Sony..I don't know if it can be ported, but i'm just a noob..

I know other rom which has working proximity and it's not official based.

I'd like to have it working too :/

Maybe its worth trying to contact one of these devs about it since they probably know a heck of a lot more than us.

CM7 port is possible

Hello all,
I just wanted to let you know my experience from some minutes ago.
I successfully boot up CM7 ported to my device.
Everyone is free to do so, but be careful what you do.
I used the kitchen to cook it, so thanks to dsixda for his work.
And also to arco68 and cowithgun whose kernel I was using.
Last but not least KezraPlanes for his Rom I was using as base and for comparison.
Sadly, this is just a quick and dirty port so no downloadlink.
Also there have to be still many bugs and things not working, cause of the cm rom I used.
To state some:
GPS (does not lock)
Audio (both input and output, will be tough)
Camcorder (because of audio)
Storage-related (external SD not working, internal with no USB storage, vold misconfigured)
USB tethering/MTP (will require some programming)
Host access point (similar to USB tethering)
Buttons force feedback
Contacts on SIM card
This was stated by YardE in his thread, about the CM-Rom I used for the Port. So, also credtis to him and the fellow developer.
I just made it for the fun of it and to show some pics, here you have:
Welcome to the club the community awaits you n to those assisting you.

Thanks alot for your work, any extra ROM is a gain for the Community.
I have one question and according to your profile you are from the same Country(Germany) and have the same Provider(simyo). Does your data connection work ? Does this ROM has also this "funny SIM card issue". The good thing about this ROM we will have the drivers for Gingerbread isn't ?
greets
THE-E
Yeap according to arco68 all the drivers are available....I think
Should not be a problem it is just a question of time n effort plus patience.......Just the beginning..you are one brave soul

Just one remark, SGW doesn't have light sensor, only proximity sensor.

keep up the good work.
more rom = more choices for the community
cheers!
Any news of this? CM7 seems like a good choice in the short run.
Dude....any updates ?
o O From My Ancora o O
I hope there is dev who willing to port CM7 to our galaxy W
i know it's out of date
But CM7 itself still cool
still have a lot of customization
and i want to make some wp clone with it
Okay,okay.To sum some things up.
After my try to port a ROM via the kitchen I had downloaded the sources and try to compile a build.
Sadly I cannot spend so much time in playing around with the code and try things out.
So far I overcome some problems while compiling. - crazy story here-
In the End no boot up and I noticed the small system size, which is definitely to tiny for all the libs.
To say so: still a way to go.
Maybe Arco have time to guide a little bit or someone else will supporting me, like KezraPlanes,...

But also done it with this AOSP ROM:

And the first Rom, YardE ROM from here:

There are already two ports of CM9 (with inherited problems), I might work on JB but not now.
How about porting some of the features ?

I think MIUI and AOKP ports should remain original, mixing things will neither be JB or MIUI,AOKP.

yeah sure, someone can try to mixup things from different roms and give it a new name.
Here we go again. People trying to port new Android versions from completely incompatible phones, hardware wise. Or worse yet, from an emulator image.
It will run like **** no matter what, so I'd rather wait for sources, thank you very much.

On Wonder will not ported Jilly Bean?
Well cm9 is being ported right now. Right now it works pretty well so why won't cm10 work? The only thing i think won't work is the camera and some other bugs

He means that better port from compiled from sources, not from another phone or emulator image.

Most stable ICS ROM for use in Asia!

I live in Singapore and got the Captivate Glide with me. I am looking for a super fast, super stable, least bug free ROM. I need tethering to work, keyboard backlight would be nice and the camera to be stellar.
I need your advice. Should I be going for:
I927UCLG9 - "Official" Leak - 4.0.4 ICS
Cyanogenmod 9.1
or anything else?
dude the cyanogenmod 9.1 is for the captivate not the captivate glide.
there is no official support for CM on the glide,
i know that dman working on an "unofficial" CM9/10 port.

If you want a bootloop or hard brick, go for the latter
There's a keyboard light fix in these forums. NardROM has it implemented. Tethering app in NardROM. Camera apps available from Market. Camera ICS is nice.

That's neat. Probably really hard to port since it relies on the closed source PAPreferences.apk and some of the open source PA modifications.
PIE is on PA 2.99 based on JB 10.1. As far as I know, our 10.1 isn't ready for daily use just yet (that might change with all the changes I saw on Quarx's github a while ago ). When it is, I plan on getting back to PA. I'm also willing to help anyone who'd like to try kanging it all together in the mean time.
In the mean time I'm working an ICS rom. Gonna include ICS PA, Salad Bar, and ICS Blur from the Atrix HD. Didn't plan on going full Blur, but some Blur services are required to get Smart Actions fully working (everything works except for location based triggers, requires Blur services framework). Figured if I was gonna have to use some Blue, might as well use it all .
Still have a ways to go, but its progressing.
it does not rely on paprefs. in fact nothing we ever did does. paprefs writes and reads name=value pairs to a textfile, nothing more. you dont need the app for hybrid engine or pie. having said that, pie is still under heavy development. we always build first and release later, we never release unfinished source, much like google does with the aosp.

I assumed PAPrefs was a requirement for PIE since I've seen it bundled with framework-res.apk and systemui.apk for other devices to try it out. Since that's not the case, cool beans. Sorry about the misinformation.
/Yep, I assumed. We all know what that makes me
@molesarecoming: I wonder how you find this post to answer. xD I still can't forget the help you and Darkenesys provided when I first started to port the ICS PA for Defy.
About the Pie, its one of the coolest thing happened to Android. You guyz are getting bigger and bigger, even the big OEMs will try to copy you soon so get ready to be more famous.
@Skeevy: good luck mate.

[Q] wake up lag when incoming calls...
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No lags on mine.. but I'm not using buggy 4.4 kitkat. Maybe if you used a rom that has official releases, you'll run into less problems. Not to say 4.4 roms are bad, but you have to expect more bugs since they are not official releases (therefore not fully tested).
PS
I see you're on 4.3 rom... but you also need to see which are based on Sammy officials and which kind of tweaks involved. I tend to find Revolution and Hurricane less buggy than others, but try a few roms out until you find the one you like.
