capacitive light toggle - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Does anyone know how to get the capacitive lights on for the SG3? Some ROMs give you the option to disable them, but I like having them always on. Perhaps there is a script for this? Thanks.

turn off keyboard backlight?

i tried to search but cant find any good solutionabout this,
how do you turn off the backlight of the keyboard manually? with my delicate fingers i can actually type in tp2 using my fingers, however in a decent light condition, the keyboard backlight automatically turns on sometimes and i cant read the characters on the keyboard (wished the buttons are black)
i tried to turn off the kb backlight autosensor, turns out it manually turns on the backlight, not turning it off.
any ideas?
I would also like to know how to shut off the keyboard back light.
I think it is a waste of battery life sometimes.
Do anyone know how to create some kind of manual switch that would allow me to toggle between having it on (with the auto sensor) and just always off?
I remember having some kind of application for this on my palm centro.
Thanks
Anyone?
The only work around I have found so far is to open the keyboard, then press the power button then press it again, and not touch the keyboard, and the back light will remaind off. I do this so I can watch videos with the keyboard out and the screen tilted.
you can change the timeout in hkcu\controlpanel\backlight\qkeyledtimeout default is 10. maybe you can change it to 0 or atleast 1.
it looks like keylightautosensor might be what you are looking for. you can try em out. soft reset to apply.

Capacitive button backlighting

My wife's evo is running stock rooted 1.47 with some basic battery saving tweaks.
I noticed today that her capacitive buttons aren't lighting up. Anyone else had this issue? Is there a setting somewhere that controls them?
EDIT:
Seems like they sort of work. Sometimes they light up sometimes they don't. I'll try to figure out if there is a pattern to it.

Yes, as even a cursory search would have told you, they are controlled by the light sensor.

[Q] Capacitive buttons not lighting up.

Don't know whether anybody else has experienced this with the one V yet but i can't get the capacitive buttons to light up during use in a darker environment unless I cover the sensor with my hand. I have checked the settings but cannot find a control for this as yet. Does anybody know whether these buttons can be controlled. I know they are haptic and that at least is something but if you're like me I am finding it a bit tough using the V in a darker room. I wonder if the X or S has this issue, does anybody know?
Partial fix
I have been playing with the settings and specifically the display brightness settings. I can get the capacitive buttons to eventually light up but only if the brightness is set to auto. I think HTC should allow users to have the buttons on or off independent of the sensor. This would be a great additional setting I think.
Anyway....thoughts?

Stock and rooted, is it possible to disable cap.buttons and run onscreen?

I've been looking around but haven't seen much, so I thought I'd see if I'm just missing it. I am running stock with the exception of being rooted and flashing CWM. Is there any hack I can use to disable the capacitive buttons and use the stock ICS on screen nav buttons?
Thanks!
I know you can turn them off at least. Settings/display/touch key light duration and choose always off.
I'm Not sure about on screen lights though sorry.

Thanks, not a bad start but I still would need those onscreen buttons.

disable capactive LED?

Anyone have any methods to disable the capacitive back and recent LED lights?
I'm on OrionOs, great ROM but no settings to disable LED and it's driving me bats!
Thanks!
