I unplugged my phone before I went to bed to see how much it would drain overnight. I only slept for 5.5 hours. My phone had lost 16%. Is this normal?
I was connected to wifi, only thing I had syncing was Facebook for every 4 hours.
I forgot to screenshot the cpu times, but it spent a majority of the time in deep sleep and 384.
Also, what do the red bars mean in BBS?

Try disabling WiFi as well? Im guessing you dont need Facebook to sync while you sleep, just refresh it when you wake up. Noticed you clock down to 384mhz while screen off. odd how still took away a lot for only 5 hours.

I dont think clocking down helps that much. it doesnt stop the same processes from running, and it takes longer to run them with the lower processing power, especially when the phone has all night to do it /
According to your screenshots you have posted, that kakao talk app is in wakelock, keeping the phone from actually sleeping. Although the other stats seem to contradict this i would be willing to bet this is your problem. I would either disable it from syncing in the app, freezing the process, or somehow prevent it from running. I would put money on it improving battery life drastically. I cant be sure of this as i dont use betterbatterystats but i would suspect the red bar is the time spent in wakelock, while the cpu is supposedly in deep sleep.
That doesn't look normal. I get less than 1%/hour overnight. Though I don't use Facebook or Facebook app. I do have 2 Gmail accounts on auto sync. Weather widget sync/hour. Field trip and Google+ sync enabled and wifi is always on when I'm at home.

I'm installing this as a last resort before sending my phone back. After hard reset and everything, battery is still a major drain.
For those that are using it, how well does it work? Which settings are you using?
I've only the free version for now but would consider upgrading if it does help?
Also, how do you prevent meebo from disconnecting when the screen turns off? Is that an option on the free version?

About Juice Defender, for me it worked with ~1.6x batterylife.
About Meebo: get Trillian, they made it for free this week. You stay connected even if your phone is off(for max of 1 day, changeable in settings) and you'll receive al the messages which came while your online the enxt time you login again. You can manage all your accounts on the PC with the regular Trillian program and then login on your phone with your Trillian account and all the accounts will be there. It is a real nice app with very low battery consumption.
The free version is very limited. I use the ultimate version and I'm rather happy with it. I don't want to schedule traffic when my phone is idle, but that would be a massive battery saver.
Yes, you can set different settings for each app in the paid versions. You can set a trigger that makes sure your internet is always on when meego is running, even when your screen is off.
But overall, I have no problem to use my phone for more than 12 hours on battery with moderate usage. Maybe you should send your device back anyway.
I had terrible battery drain as well but ive managed to resolve this. have you tried:
1. Deleting all social hub accounts?
2. Deleting your mail account if you use the stock mail app?
3. Updated to latest official firmware?
I was experiencing 10% idle drain per hour. Now i'm at 1-2%. Battery life is a huge improvement compared to my old desire. Dont guve up on this phone.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
In my experience standard battery drain per hour should be
1~2% screen off / data off
3~5% screen off / data on
12~15% screen on / data off
18~20% screen on / data on
WiFi uses less battery than 3g but as you can see display is main problem...

Sounds like you need to clear your battery history, leave it over night, then check what's been using it overnight to me.
I have 5-10% drop at most overnight (7 hours or so).

I have it setup to turn the data, and wifi off while the screen is off.
Night mode is enabled, from 11:30, to 7:00am
I also have it only allow wifi via location, work or home.
It eats 1-2% while in standby per hour.
and about 3-4% overnight.
i tried juice defender ultimate and it made no difference. I deleted it just because its another app working in the background...

Mine does that (1-2% per hour at idle) without Juicedefender and push email/facebook active. The problem with JD is also that when set to switch off Wifi and data in the background when the phone is idle, it doesn't always switch them back on after the phone awakens, resulting in many pain in the ass moments.
I bought it 6 months ago and never use it any more.

Pretty standard really wifi and mobile data enabled (ultimate version), autosync on ping, 15 minute scheduled check for 30s. I don't have it turn off data at night because the phone is usually plugged in and have data enabled when the screen is on. It also manages the wifi locations so usually it only connects to wifi.

I use to have battery drain on my GT-N7100 (and overheating problem). What turned out was that the Gmail sync on one of my accounts was going in a loop and never ending. When I fixed it, all went back to normal.
What rom / Kernels you peeps running? I had this once, flashed a different rom and no problem. Currently running Omega 7.1 with excellent battery life over night.
Mdm hsic is related to mobile data and this includes both 3g and wifi. Turn off 3g when not in use and you will see this wakelock going down. THe other one is nothing to worry

First, when you set the phone for the first time it does a lot of initial activity that may cause drainage.
In my case, I have 3 gmail.com accounts on my phone. I only need one of them to sync email, Picasa, contacts and calendars. On the other 2 I need only email. The phone was syncing everything on all accounts: in addition to the above also Google Photos, Play Magazines,Play Music, Internet, Keep and People Details.
As soon as I disabled all the unwanted syncing, things improved.
Is this the kind of battery life I should be expecting? Completely stock and running Juice Defender. Thanks!
It looks like you need to apply the "Cell standby" fix. That won't help your actual battery life, but it will help your reporting.
Everyone is going to be different depending on usage and signal strength.
Your battery usage isn't that bad, but when I was running ICS I would be able to get over 3 hours screen time and someimtes 20-24 hours total life.
It really varies based on your data usage. To extend battery life, then turn off unused data connections. Adjust your sync frequency, and limit push notifications. Network data coverage also impacts battery life, so in areas that have bad coverage, your phone is going to be searching for signal more often.
Use CPUspy as well and see if you phone is going to Deep Sleep when it should.

Your phone is not going into Deep Sleep as it should which is causing the higher drain you're seeing. Post what is using battery stats. Also, try to reboot. You said you were stock, so it could just be a random program that didn't close and is running in the background.
I would check your sync settings too.

Post a screen shot from betterbattery with Processes and Since Unplugged as your parameters. Wakelocks are not the problem. You have an app constantly running that will prevent DS, so a Wakelock is irrelavent at this point.

Ya no dice on that one. Just charge it up and run it for a few hours and then pull a screenie of Processes and Since Unplugged. I wanna set what it shows for your Android System as that is your main culprit.
Some things right off that I see with this last screen shot. First, I don't think that your JuiceDefender is working properly. Usually there is a Red, Green or Blue dot in the upper right corner of the shield. This is an indicator of your radio state. Second, that Revamped Nexus S live wallpaper will munch your battery. It's cool and I own it too, but it does cause some issues with battery, not neccessarily wakelocks though. Third, that Battery Monitoring widget is eating it up too. Not sure if the icon on the top-left is for that or not, but if it is in the notification area, then it is polling and is not caching causing drainage.
Those are just what I am seeing from this last screen. I am more interested in the Processes/Since Unplugged screen shot. Charge up and go get some lunch/dinner (depending on where you are) and come back later on after and post it up.

Sprint GN2 has whats called wakeup lag. When you wake device display has good 2-3 sec delay before turning on.

yeah that's how it should be.
As my screen shot shows there is 7 deep sleep wakeup points.
7 emails received , 7 wakeups shown with 3 of them being way to active.
Now the question is why.
Maybe a 3rd party app kicks in gear when email received.
Only thing I have on board is Fancy Widget with auto update disabled during that time frame

I'm getting similiar to this. Tested 2 nights now and in 10 hours I'm dropping 2%. Multiple emails syncing, weather, Google Talk connected. Great usage battery life too.
In the "screen on" screenshot, live wallpaper active, 4 hours of Bluetooth music, brightness 80%, Web browsing and gaming heavy with 40ish minutes of phone calls and 30 minutes of GPS navigation. I hit 6h screen on time and 24h 32min unplugged when the battery finally died. That is stellar.

Google sync active with 1 email received during sleep period.
Accuweather widget at 3 hour update interval .

I'm still getting the 1% drain but this time only 1 email was received during 7hr sleep period so I can rule that out as being cause.
What the heck is waking up device lol
The AWAKE activity shown in screen shot should not be happening.
Edit
That small period showing Screen On I checked email device was awake maybe 90 seconds.

nah only thing running in background is Gmail & accuweather.
Gmail remains silent lights up sleep on push , seeing only one email was received that can be ruled out as problem.
Accuweather at 3 hour update interval so we can rule that out as well.
On Sprint version I had all kinds of background apps running during sleep , 15 emails receved and would lose 3-4% in 9 hour sleep session so somethings not playing well on ATT version.

Not sure what the sleep problem is. I've maintained the 2ish% drop in 10ish hours of sleep. Great battery life still. Do you have NFC or Sbeam turned on? They have been known to sometimes cause battery drain and not show up as "awake" when looking at battery stats. Try toggling them in settings even if they are off and see if that makes any impact.

I've noticed in GSAM battery monitor that my "held awake" time seems abnormally high. I've attached three screen shots. After being unplugged for about 3 hours, I lost about 10% battery from being on wifi the whole time, and about 20 min screen on time (mainly google voice text and play market browsing). It was idling pretty much the rest of the time. No music, pandora, video, etc.
The "held awake" time is 2:37 out of 3 hours! And according to GSAM, it's Android system that's keeping it awake. Is this normal...?

And that's exactly what I mean. I would download an app called wakelock detector from the app store to see what's causing it.

One hour of screen time and been driving around streaming music etc for close to two, totaling 3 hrs. Sounds reasonable to me since I was indeed using the phone which prevented it from sleeping. Don't see how I would be streaming anything if the phone sleeps

Thats not a real wakelock and you should have said that...

Had that same wakelock, its Google Backup. I turned it off. Settings>Backup&Reset.
Thanks for all the inputs guys. So yeah, it does appear to be Google backup, as you can see in my third screen shot. I just wanted to check my sanity that this is NOT typical behavior. Does anyone know what exactly Google Backup, well backs up?
I did a hard reset (hold down power button for 10s) and so far that seems to have fixed the problem. I am going to keep an eye on it for now, and keep Google Backup turned on. I'll report back if it starts again.
