error 130: Bootloader Error - HTC Wildfire S

Hi all,
I'm new with the HTC (S-On).
I want to unlock the phone, but get the wrong version of the ROM.
So, here is what I already done:
1. Install the ROM RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.2_Radio_47.23a.35.3035H_7.53.39.03M_release_225747_signed.exe. And when I search the RUU to unlock it, I get the version 401.3.
2. Since I just see the 401.3, I installed this ROM RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed.exe.
3. Well, it's totally wrong, because the last RUU on the HTC Dev is 2.13.401.3. So I install the correct one RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.3_Radio_47.23c.35.3037_7.54.39.28M_release_236989_signed.exe, but I get the error.
:crying:
Error 130: (I forget the error, it said about bootloader error).
Please help.
Thankyou

that's the error. I need to downgrade it. Found a solution here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445867), but it also failed.
I want to try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540952&highlight=downgrade, but it says I need to flash the CWM first. How I supposed to be able flash it when my phone still on locked state?

[Q] RUU Not Working & HTC Devs Bootloader Unlock Not Working.

My phone will not update from any RUU & HTC Devs Unlock Bootloader also does not work.
I loaded a custom rom about a week ago and it locked my bootloader. Now I cannot do anything. My CWM Recovery has gone too. So I'm stuck.
I have managed somehow to load an old rom:
RUU_Marvel_HTC_Europe_1.33.401.2_Radio_47.10.35.3029H_7.46.35.08_release_185724_signed.
This is the only way I got my phone working again.
I have tried other Stock Roms more current via RUU, no luck.
I have tried other Stock Roms more current via Bootloader renaming to PG76IMG, no luck.
Therefore I cannot even update to current anything and what makes it worse is that CWM Recovery has gone. I found this great for Backing Up my phone and Restoring it after trying out Custom Roms.
Anyway, if any one can help me in any way possible and/or point me in the right direction, I would be most greatful.
Please help, if you can.

At the moment, I cannot change these because of what I've mentioned in my original post.
Make a goldcard (search on google) and the you will be able to install any ruu with a software number higher than yours.

I cannot create a Goldcard.
I've searched and tried some methods and also looked at some videos too.
I just cannot get the methods to work for me.
I've been trying for a long time to create a Goldcard, about a six months. I get so frustrated I give up.
Can you suggest a particular method that you know works?.
Could you post the method you used and where you get an error?

SimpleGoldCard,
Step 3 Get CID. I chose MMC0, MMC1 and MMC2. No joy.
Unlockr Method.
Cannot get the CID code to reverse. It just doesn't want to know.
There's an app on the market called goldcard helper. Try that.

Thank you.
Tried it and managed to create the Goldcard.
I placed the Goldcard in my phone, tried to update the rom via RUU 2.13.401.2 and went upto 19% complete and then I received an ERROR 171 failed connection.
Basically I'm back to square one again.
I just do not know what else to try.
I am still searching for solutions but with no luck.
You used the goldcard.img file with the simple goldcard tool right ?
Open simple goldcard tool on your computer, skip the steps which are for the cid, click load goldcard img, navigate to the downloaded img, then click patch mmc, (i dont remember the exact process). Then your goldcard is ready.

I've done all that already and got the message "SD Card is now a Goldcard" or something like that.
As I said, back to square one.
There's a tutorial somewhere for that error in the general section. Search for it.

Upgrade HBOOT 0.90, WFS Vodafone

Hi,
I've been trying to unlock the bootloader of my Wildfire S without success.
I have followed the process with HTCDev, downloading the HTC EUR, and finalyzing the installer without problems.
Once I get to the point to use fastboot command I get an error which I read is due to have the HBOOT 0.90
I have tried to manually take the rom.zip that the install process extracts in the temp folder and put it into the SD card. When I get to the bootloader, it starts processing but finishes with the message: <bootloader> bypassed
I have tried with other PF76IMG files from several threads and get the 'Main version is older: Update Failed'
I finally tried to extract the zip to modify the 'android-info.txt' file and write an upper version 2.26.161.1, but once zipped again the error dissapears but nothing happens (No message appears)
Could you please give me a hand with this? I have now the phone with no wifi, and unstable screen and I am getting desperate, :silly:
Thanks a lot in advance,
Hueso

You shouldn't have to upgrade HBOOT if you're on 0.90 ..
Is your phone still on 2.3.3 or have you upgraded OTA to 2.3.5 ?
-----------
"You can overclock as much as you want, your phone will always seem too slow."
Go to www.htcdev.com/bootloader select wildfire s in the drop down menu and follow the instructions there. You will have to create a account first.
Overview of the process:-
• upgrade your bootloader to an unlockable one.
• Get your identifier token
• Submit it to HTC and they will give you an unlock token by email.
• Flash it and unlock bootloader
All these steps are given in detail on the website.

I am already done those steps, but I am stuck in the second point. I have downloaded HTC Euro, finished the install of the RUU but got an error when using the fastboot command to get the token, I have read this is due to my 0.90 HBOOT version.

After running the RUU, you should have hboot 1.08.0099 or 1.09.0099. Are you sure sure the RUU was successful?

No errors thrown in the installer. I also received the congrats or succesful install screen, I don't remember exactly but I'll try to upload a screenshot with the message.
This is the file: PG7610000_Marvel_hboot_1.09.0099_2.13.401.3_0210_R

Thanks omnomnomkimiiee, hope you can help me identifying what it is.
When I got the rom from the RUU installer and tried to flash it from bootloader, I received the message:
<bootloader> bypassed
Radio is then flashed correctly. Could it be related?
Thanks again,
Hueso
Bootloader is being bypassed because you already have 0.90, I think.
Are you sure all the files you need for the token request are in the right folder ?
Are you typing exactly the same command ?
-----------
"You can overclock as much as you want, your phone will always seem too slow."
Could you confirm your bootloader version?
If you're still on hboot 0.90 there's no need for you to get unlocked, instead you can be S-OFF!
Some ruus which are old have two zips rom1 and rom2. If you've lash rom 1 it updates the radio and all. If you by then flash rom1 then you get s- off. It's an od trick, and I'm not sure which ruus they were.

Yes, I have checked the 3 of them are on the same folder and I am writing the same command. I have succesfully flashed a HTC Sensation following the same steps, except the RUU process which is not needed two weeks ago.

Hi SomeDudeOnTheNet, I also tried with some other RUUs which have the two roms as you say, but when doing the manual flashing I got the main version older message. I will give it another try anyway to remember exactly what the problem was.

Follow the downgrade tutorial under important guides in the index. When you open the misc.img in the hex editor, just make it 0.0.0.0 that will fix all 'main version is older' errors.

[Q] Trying to unlock with HTCdev - error 191 despite 3.12.405.1 - what to do now ?

Hello.
For 2 days now, I have been trying to unlock a DHD,with not much luck so far. (AAHK being disabled just when I needed it.)
I am now trying to use the official HTCDev bootloader unlocker, but it doesn't seem to work either.
So far, my rom is still stock. (The phone tells me it is :
sense 3.0,android 2.3.5, ver 3.12.405.1 ,
HBOOT 2.00.0027
Radio 26.14.04.28_M )
The phone was never branded or somlocked.
It SHOULD be supported by HTCDev. However, when I run the RUU update, It asks me if I want to go from 3.12.405.1 to 3.13.000.0
I say yes.
The phone reboot to Fastboot, and then I get an error 191, saying that my rom is not supported and I should wait for an update.
Since it supposed to be supported already, there will be no update of course.
Earlier, I had tried to manually downgrade following this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424023
I had gone to the end of the guide, having the message "your card is now gold",but couldn't seen to use it to downgrade. (Is there a specific way to use a goldcard ? I just got to bootloader and it seems to load something ... but in the end the hboot version doesn't change.)
I kept the goldcard as it was, and used another micros SD.
I did a factory reset before trying HTC dev unlocker.
Now I am a bit lost. I have tried to find what to do by reading posts, faqs, and generally searching here ot with google.
But I seem to go from outdated to incomplete guides, and / or lack the basics to understand what I read.
Does anyone know what my next step should be ? What could prevent HTCdev unlocker from working ?

You need to update your hboot for HTCDEV tool to work. I don't know why but the links in the site seem to have been removed thou the link is still alive.
Try to use this tool (that will guide you through the process) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133336 or use this tool (that will unlock the bootloader, flash CWM recovery and root) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515

I tried both those utility, but they merely download and launch the same RUU update. It will detect a 1.00.000.00 image version, try to update to 3.13.something,and then tell me it can't due to unsuported rom.
I think the problem might be that I switched my version 1.00.000 manually when I was trying to downgrade. I'LL try reversing that, but if anyone has another idea, please ...
Edit :
Nope, still stuck.
I changed back the misc version to 2.00.0027, but the HTC dev ruu update still tells me that my rom is not supported.
Can't update hboot, can't get token, can't unlock

I found what was wrong for me !
It came from my first try at manually downgrading. Except the misc version is not the HBOOt version, it's the rom version. Following the guide, I had set it to 1.00.000.0
I retraced the same step, except I set it to 3.12.405.1 ( the version of the rom ).
And it worked !

No.
After setting the rom version back to 3.12.405.1, I used the HTC unlocker to unlock my Hboot.
The automatic script ( easyUnlock and EasyAceUnlock ) didn't seem to work for me (Error while trying to get root.)
So I just installed Clockwork mod recovery. I don't really need to be root anyway. I just want some JellyBean taste.
But now I seem to be having a new problem. I tried to install a rom ( Wiping everything I can from CWM before ) but my phone won't boot. It is stuck to the green HTC logo.
I will be looking through new post from this forum to try to find a solution, while downloading other roms.
I wonder if some (or all) roms require you to be root to work.

[q] help. How to run ruu on verizon to get back to stock

Hey, i'm new to this forum but i have tried everything and cant figure it out. Its probably just me because i'm not too good with this stuff.I bought this phone used and it was rooted when i got it. im pretty sure i unrooted it but somewhere along the way while trying to get it back to stock i reset the phone and it must have deleted something important because when i try to download the OTA update it simply wont install after i download it. Recovery used to work but now it just sits at the loading screen and then reboots the phone. I managed to re-lock the bootloader and it is on S-off. I tried to get back to stock using the ruu.exe but the video i was following had the link for every ruu except verizon. Figures. Then i searched around and cant seem to find a verizon Ruu.exe file. Please any help would be appreciated i just want to be able to update to the latest firmware.

Also i think you are using it to remove the tampered tag right? you can do that later . also no need to unlock bootloader if you have soff
I attached some screenshots hopefully they help. I think I've come to the conclusion I need to flash a recovery but in order to do so my boatloader must be unlocked even if I have s-off. (It says relocked and s-off) only problem is that I can't find a way to unlock the boot loader b/c htcdev doesn't allow Verizon to unlock through there services and the other ways require supersu. The only way to get the correct binary file for super su is to flash it which I can't do without recovery. So I feel like I'm jus stuck right now and can't do anything

Bro Your bootloader is locked you should not have relocked it dude thats the biggest mistake ! and your software number shows that you are running kitkat there is no rooting method till now for that .
What i must say is that you can try to flash the ruu without unlocking the bootloader you are s-off give it a try , if it does then your problem is solved
unlock your bootloader later on. Wish you luck :good:. Also you can ask in the forum itself that will it flash or not

Bootloop after Factory Reset

I have colleague that has problem with his phone, he did a factory reset and after that the phone just goes into boot loop.
He can get to HBOOT window and also inte Recovery. I tried doing a factory reset from the recovery but it did not help, the phone still gets stuck in boot loop, I guess since the reset now resets to the erroneous software.
He is completely on stock, locked bootloader and S-On .
What is the best way forward trying to get latest stock SW or unlocking bootloader, s-off and flashing 3: part SW?
Why always people think S-Off should fix their problem ? That should be the last choice after HTC Service Centre .. if the problem is related to hardware failure.
What you can try first as this is stock, S-On & locked device -
1. Flash a HTC Signed firmware for the firmware version that currently it's running.
2. If the above fails, try the official RUU if available
3. If the above fails, check the error listed when doing no. 1 - to see any hardware failure like EMMC failed & etc
What's the firmware no. ? You can see that on the bootloader - OS - x.xx.xxx.x
then check my thread for the signed firmware. I have almost all the Marshmallow firmware in the collection.

Firmware says OS-6.12.401.4
I will check your thread....
I tried the following this from an other thread and just flashing RUU but I got error message "FAIL12 signature verify fail" and "FAILED <remote: 12 signature verify fail>

I recommend this file. It is the official RUU from HTC. Simply run it from your PC. If it fails, place your phone into bootloader mode and try again. This should not fail. Just be aware that you need a USB 2.0 port, not USB 3.0 as it doesn't play well with Android. This RUU will wipe your internal storage, so make a backup of anything you want to keep first.

Tried this and it didn't work, took awhile too get the phone to flash the fw a second time after the first fail. I didn't realise that I had to disconnect and reconnect the phone to the pc so I was trying to rund the command directly after getting fail message.

I haven't been able to flash RUU file linked in this thread because my company firewall is blocking me, so I will try this at home this afternoon.

You can't go backwards (downgrade) to 4.16.401 from 6.12.401 with s-on. Even with s-off, you can't flash the Lollipop RUU from Marshmallow, unless you flash the LP firmware first.
And I'm not suggesting s-off either, as you probably don't need it.

How long does the process take, to me it seems to be flashing the RUU file over and over again....

It might take 5 or 10 minutes.
On your phone's screen, you may see the names of various modules being flashed, with (hopefully) a message showing each one confirmed/successful. The phone has something like 41 partitions, and all of them get flashed.
