Yes, cwm recovery.
the problem is that when I set the recovery, when you try to enter it, the phone curls on htc logo
if you have a phone in 2012, and you have set the recovery, could you share with me the files?

Can you please explain ur problem in details.... I didn't got what you wanna say

2.2 touch recovery ,at your own risk

I ask for the delay, it was not possible to write.
I tried to put CWM in several ways: 1) through cmd
2) through the archive PG76IMG
In the first case, the phone hangs when trying to go to recovery (green HTC logo on white background)
The second had 2 options: 1) Phone hangs on parsing ...
2) I gave out a message: "Main version is older"

I get the same problem as you (Trust890). I bought it 2 weeks ago and have try several ways to root my htc wildfire s through CWM but no luck , always get a htc logo with white background when I press the recovery option in fastboot. >.<~
Any solution for this? thanks in advanced.

This was a problem about 6 months now still no solution we need devs that will be willing to work on the cwm for 2012 devices some people report black screen recovery (I'm one of them) and some stuck at HTC logo

I have the same trouble. May be it is posible, turn to htcdev support with this question, and ask them to make some update for our device? Or it wouldn`t be take effect? Sory for my english

Same problem here ,I've been trying for months now . I finally managed to flash cwm last night but everytime I booted into recovery it would work OK until I selected any option then nothing at all would happen

hi...looking at ur specifications i think u can follow how i went around bcoz even i had the same specifications...look, unless you either s-off or unlock your bootloader you cant go ahead rooting ur phone..follow the below method which i find is easiest::::
#1 unlock ur bootloader using htcdev method(www.htcdev.com) (remember this will void ur warranty).plz do watever is mentioned step by step on the site....
#2 after u unlock bootloader u will still have s-on but ur device is now rootable...
#3 root ur device using unlockroot one click tool (www.unlockroot.com) and u will have root access superuser installed..congrats u r now rooted
#4 installing clockworkmod recovery on your phone via fastboot method (plz dont use rom manager to install cwm recovery as it just provides a temp recovery)..just do it via fastboot method (scan xda forum on how to do it via fastboot)....done ...u r ready to flash a custom rom...
#5 download any custom rom for wildfire (ex:cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1 buzz)and place it on sd card...turn off ur phone and reboot into bootloader and select recover,,ur device will now boot into recovery..then select install zip from sd option and choose the rom file...congrats ull now boot into a custom rom...(dont forget to backup ur existing rom )..happy rooting and flashing...
can u please explain me how to do step 4 and step 5........do I need my phone plugged In the computer while performing step 4 and 5? what's "fastboot method", what's "clockwork mod recovery".....please explain.....

clockworkmod recovery is a recovery as the name speaks of it in which you can backup ur data and restore it whenever you like...
look ,, as i said b4 flashing a custom rom u need to install this cwm recoveryvia fastboot (refer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207331 )
later download cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1 buzz from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1207331 and store it on sd card
turn off ur fone and reboot into bootloader (volume down+power button)select recovery and ur fone will take u to cwm recovery choose install zip from sd option and after that select ur cyanogenmod rom fileand later do a data reset using same cwm recovery,,reboot ur fone and it will boot into cm 7...congrats ur done ...(optional: download and install google apps)

Edit: first choose wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and also wipe dalvik cache from the advanced menu or you'll just get stuck in a bootloop.
Then choose install zip from sd option and after that select ur cyanogenmod rom fileand later do a data reset using same cwm recovery,,reboot ur fone and it will boot into cm 7...congrats ur done ...(optional: download and install google apps)

look ,,,i wud like to say that trying to s-off ur phone using revolutionary is just a waste of time bcoz revolutionary does't support your hboot version(i.e. 1.01.0002)
therefore i don't want u to struggle behind that.
-one more option u have is downgrading ur hboot version to 1.01.0001 using buzzdowngrade but its a bit time consuming and i cannot guarantee 100% success in it bcoz i've seen ppl getting stuck in the final step of the process (even i could'nt succeed)..
-so if u want to go ahead i advice u to do it my way(i.e unlocking bootloader)
-second thing is that the link u've given contains 2 methods of installing cwm recovery #1 via revolutionary:this method cant be used by u as ur hboot version is not supported by it..#2 via rom manager: plzz don't try this ..it has been stated in so many thread not to use this method as it just gives a temp recovery(even i've xperienced it)..plz do it via fastboot as i stated earlier...hope this clears all ur doubt's...

HIT THANKS IF I HELPED U..!!
I found the revolutionary method the easiest. it was pretty straight forward, took about 30 mins. i've done it 2ice now.
this is what i did
☻ Run an RUU for wildfire.
- Download top one (RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_C_Radio_13.45.55.24_ 3.35.15.19_release_141106_signed)
- Connect your phone to PC and run RUU
- This will downgrade your phone OS to eclair (android 2.1)
- Let it do the bizniss and when it boots and says finished on your PC, you will have a basic looking phone. (but dont worry)
- If it doesnt work, find an earlier RUU and run it
☻ Un-connect phone from PC
☻ then look up "how to root wildfire with revolutionary" on youtube
- Revolutionary will gain you S-OFF (but not give you the super user app)
☻ Launch Unrevoked 3 (unrevoked.com)
☻ Connect Phone to PC
☻ Let it do the bizniss, it will do a few reboots and then say Done on your PC
☻ enjoy being rooted

SSAK.
Install HTC drivers and adb first.
Download twrp recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668287
put it into adb location ie. platform-tools folder.
open cmd
type "cd your-adb-location"
reboot the phone in fastboot
type "adb fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
wait till it's done
now reboot in recovery.
You're done.
I'm using cwm 5. Works perfect.

ClockworkMod recovery and HTC One X

Right, I've had a look around the forum a bit now for help with my issue but decided it's time to post my own thread.
I unlocked and rooted my phone a while back installed clockwork recovery and CM 9. I now want to upgrade to the latest version of CM but my recovery won't boot up...
I've tried downloading the CWM manager to my phone and re flashing from there and tried flashing other recovers and yet it still tried Clock work mod flashes on and immediately off and my phone reboots...
Can anyone lend me their knowledge?
Thanks.
Put recovery.img in the fastboot folder
Put your phone in fastboot mode
Open dosprompt ( cmd prompt )
Go to fastboot folder
Type :
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
And then enter recovery
I suggest you flash the latest cmw recovery 5.8.4.0
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X
Currently at work so will try this when i get back home.
Although, im sure this is the process i followed when trying to fix the problem before posting this thread.
Will update.
i have the htc AT&T and everytime i load clockworkmod it just boots to the htc logo and stays there
twrp will take but it wont work right, "Failed to mount cache"
If its getting messy. Download the recovery and flash it via the htc one x toolkit in dev section. No commands just clicking LOL.
You put the zip into the recovery folder.connect yoir phone then just flash recovery. Personally twrp recovery works better. More options..

help?

im coming from an Optimus V, which i rooted and romed no problem.
now with this HTC One V... it's difficult. i successfully root, but when i tried installing a rom and failed... now my phone won't start. i tried recovering, it's stuck at the boot up screen.
when ever i boot now, it shows the loading screen to recovery, then tries to boot like normal and just hangs.
i've never installed a custom kernel before, maybe i messed up there?
What ROM did you flashed?
Due to the One V still being S-ON, you will need to manually flash the kernel using fastboot the same way you flash a custom recovery

harmonia 2 was so much easier to install on the optimus v. my problem is idk where to start to fix my issue. i can move data using my sd card, but i can only load up to recovery or fastboot.
-edit-
if you or anyone could help me flash a stable rom to fix this issue, id be grateful. doesnt have to be CM10.
now it just keeps rebooting. any ideas on fixes?

problem fixed.
found the stock RUU, flashed and reverted back to stock for now.

Boot loops and stuck at boot screen is no problem at all, you just need to flash the right kernel via fast boot

To explain better than if you were using the cm10 made by jmztaylor, it says that the kernel (boot image) is inside the zip of the rom. Until the phone is s-on you will always have to open the zip file of the rom and extract the boot.img (or "kernel name".img) in the fastboot folder on your computer. Then if you are using windows 7 (as I do) just run the cmd, go to the fastboot folder (with the cd command, like mine is cd desktop then I do cd fastboot because my fastboot folder is on the desktop) then connect the phone tu the pc and enter the bootloader, it should say fastboot USB, all you have to do is type in the cmd fastboot flash boot boot.img (or" kernel name".img), when it finishes, just reboot the phone and it will work perfectly! You have to do this with every rom until the phone is s-on!

[Q] Wildfire s stuck on HTC logo

I'm having real trouble with my Wildfire S.
I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it last week. Installed the wildchild custom ROM and the jellybelly wifi only rom, as I only want the phone to run one app. Started to remove some of the bloatware. Everything seemed to be going okay, until I then tried to instal XBMC on it aswell (was bored at work and wanted to watch the football!) but that was a big mistake as straight after trying to reboot in just got stuck in the white screen with green HTC logo.
Now I've searched and search this forum, following various tutorials on repairing bootloop, unbricking re-flashing... everything, but nothing seems to be working.
I had installed cwm and backed up, created a nandroid. But it all seems to have disappeared from the sd card, so now can't get into recovery to install the back up. A lot of the guides I've looked at require the phone to be on to enable usb debugging etc but the phone won't start up. Which also means I can't create a goldcard.
The only thing that seems to be doing anything is running the RUU, but it gets so far and comes up error 155, and says to find the correct RUU. So, I found my RUU on HTCDEV, its the UK O2 ROM, but when I un-zipped the file, it comes as a bunch of files and folders, not the .exe as the other one was. So how do I run it, is there another programme I need?
I'm really stuck, and can't find the answer anywhere on this forum.

Okay, so I have no idea what has just happened, but, I tried to get into recovery again and cwm was working, so I've reflashed Wildchild and its all working again. So I guess something from the countless tutorials/guides I've been following has worked.
So, I'm going to start from the begining, as I've relocked the bootloader and unrooted at some stage.

You could make wipe from hboot and see if it take something.. and you can install cwm using one package "PG76IMG.zip" in the root of the phone, but remember you will need to delete it
