i tried to update the stock firmware from v10s to v20g by flashing. Afterwards, there is no signal and when I try to exit my lock screen the screen goes black and says " application settings process com.android.settings has stopped, please try again". All I can see is my status bar and I have no signal whatsoever.
Is my phone completely bricked?
you flashed using kdz?
which rom did you used?
It might be the case that you loose your baseband.
I also suppose that you dont have any nandroid backup.
Dont worry it will be sorted.
Just reflash it again using the same.
If it doesnt works then flash it using stock froyo.
Hey thanks for replying, I just rebooted and it fixed it.... lol
But the problem im facing now is the battery draining rapidly... i just surfed the web with wifi for about 15 mins and talked on the phone for 10 minutes and in three hours, the battery dropped about 25%.
Whats weird is the cell standby is consuming more than 40% of that

Known issue. Open phone, type *#*#4636#*#* to get the service menu, select Phone Information, push menu button, choose "Select Radio Band" and accept the force close crash, then go back into "Phone Information" and scroll down to "set preferred network type," change it to anything else, then back to "CDMA auto (PRL)." You can exit out now and your battery should last a long time. It seems like a long process and you have to do it every time you reboot, but it goes pretty fast once you're used to it.
Thanks legion, I'll try that....
Theres also another issue i found today, The phone seems to be using up the internal memory for no particular reason after I run apps and close them. I use appcleaner to clear my cache and also cleared my browser cache/history/forms.
I went from 96mb this morning to 75mb right now.... I haven't installed anything except removing a 200kb app........so weird
EDIT: Oh geez, just reboot and i regained 20mb.... probably a reading error on the internal memory....bleh
I have one last question though... I've been having this problem since 2.2.1 >> after every reboot, the i have no service/sim till 15 minutes later.... weird... my phone is unrooted btw
thanks!
Hey guys,
So I have the WiFi problem with my S3; whenever the phone goes into sleep, it for some reason needs to cycle the WiFi connection when waking.
This is incredibly annoying - whenever the phone goes into sleep, I have a 5 second freeze before I can actually unlock it due to the wifi dropping and such.
So the solution when I was on TouchWiz was simple: enter the service mode, through the phone menu, doing *#0011#, and turning off WiFi Power Save.
Now this is all fine and dandy (even though that stupid setting wouldn't stick on reboot, I could always re-enable it) but now that I've flashed CM9, doing the *#0011# code doesn't work anymore - nothing comes up at *all*.
I'm on the current nightly (7/24). Now I'm no Android expert or anything, but I *think* I need the Service Mode application from Samsung to access the service mode menu.
I have backed it up through TitaniumBackup, but I can't restore it. It seems to hang whenever I restore it, which I would think is expected since I did get a warning that I wouldn't be able to restore system apps on a different ROM.
Can anyone help? Is there a way to do that? Or to at least turn off WiFi Power Save, even if it's temporary?
+1 same problem with cm10. Driving me absolutely insane.

My phone continues to have an issue turning on Bluetooth after a power down/power up cycle or Reboot. It hasn't always been this way, say just the last 3 or 4 months. I'm now running the PartyBoy 4.0.4 ROM and still have this issue. After a new boot, I'll try to turn on Bluetooth from the Settings menu or from the tool bar, but it will just get stuck at "Turning on Bluetooth" message. Sometimes multiple reboots works, but I usually have to do a battery pull, and then it finally comes on. Now, once it turns on, I'm good to go. I can toggle it off, then on over and over and it starts up in just a second or two - until then next new ROM I install or a power cycle... So my Bluetooth works just fine, but only once I can get it enabled. Anybody else? Thanks.

Bluetooth is very buggy and tempermental (and will make you go mental). I've flashed all sorts of roms until I was blue to try to solve my BT problems.
Try ODIN back to a stock rom and test.
Now, I'm on CM 10.1 nightly and BT is working great. CM 10.1 battery is pretty good now since February 22nd.

Thanks wave, not glad that you also have experienced BT issues and on multiple ROMs - just good to know that it isn't just my device. I've been thinking of going back to a fresh ODIN stock image and starting there. Maybe I should dip my toes back into the CM based ROMs again if you're getting good stability. Cheers.
fixed it by runnig fix permissions from cwm, but lost sound on all voip applications like skype and viber after that.
Resurrecting this thread due to continued Bluetooth issues to see if there is anything "new" that's been discovered but I haven't seen in my searches. I'd say that 8 or 9 times out of 10 restarts, my Bluetooth will not turn on. I've restored to stock, and have tried many different ROMs, but I'm just running 4.1.2 based ROMs now so I can keep WiFi calling on my GS-II. Not this is not an issue of dropping bluetooth connections, but rather just turning it on. I usually have to remove the battery (hard reset) to get it to work, and then it works flawlessly until my next reboot. If anyone has anything new for me to try, it will be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hello,
I have spent many hours attempting to solve the ongoing problem of the wifi button not responding but remaining gray when touched. Here is a quick chronology of symptoms and attempted fixes. I love everything else about the phone, especially the size, but am close to throwing my hands into the air. If anyone has any suggestions as to a Rom that may finally fix this, please let me know!
Wifi worked fine on phone for about 6 months, then became unreliable, not connecting after being out of range and coming back into range of wifi stations. I was usually able to force it to come on by a reset, pulling battery, turning off mobile data and calling *#0011# and turning wifi power saver off and on several times.
After this would no longer work, I rooted phone with CF-Auto-Root-jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.tar.md5 , was able to use wifi for a day or two, then nothing would force it on.
Tried multiple custom roms, including CM11 kitkat and CM12 Lollipop, same results, I would originally get wifi to fire up and connect, but after a day or two max, nothing.
Have flashed stock kernel for modem, nothing.
Took back of phone off, unplugged and plugged in blue antenna wire, nothing.
Recently flashed M919UVUFNH7_STOCK_ROOTED_DEODEX_KNOXLESS along with NH7_modem.tar.md5, wifi worked a little while, and as usual, wont respond to any resets, battery pulls, etc.
Thanks for any help you may be able to afford.
ive been having the same issue or a month or so now... cant seem to find a sulution anywhere. I too tried multiple roms, even the new 6.0 . I cant imigine its the wifi antennae because it works fine when it wants to... gettin frustrated with it.

I agree, flashing stock firmware is one of the first things that should be done in this case

I have a suggestion. Use the following link to get latest T Mobile firmware for the phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
Sometimes it takes flashing the firmware twice for the full install of the radio to take properly.
To begin, remove the back of the phone, because your going to remove the battery after the first flash.
Boot into download mode by holding the volume down and power.
Assuming you know how to use Odin, before starting the first flash, unchecked the auto reboot option.
After Odin has reached the point of RESET, unplug the cable, remove the battery... Replace the battery, reboot into Download mode and
repeat the process, leaving auto reboot checked this time.
You are now completely stock. Your data will be basically left untouched.
Good luck.

Have you tried cleaning the hardware contacts on the antenna? I remember this same scenario on my old HTC Desire... the antenna contacts were dirty IIRC and they needed cleaning.
Wow, so I am not the only one still facing this issue! I flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539361 a few times and I eventually noticed the wifi issue as well.
Baseband: M919UVUF0H3
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2437203 [email protected] #1
Build number: KTU84P.M919UVUF0H3
Here's what I attempted:
1. Did a full wipe on the phone and installed full firmware 4.4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t3193835
2. Flashed stock kernel from the same link above
3. Installed SuperSU, flashed TWRP
4. Installed and ran TriangleAway to clear KNOX counter
Same issue as OP--at first wifi would work but the connection would not stick and I was unable to activate the wifi button anymore. I tried uninstalling KNOX but I get an error "Failed to create KNOX mode." When I reboot into TWRP, I get the message "E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)."
I discovered that my EFS folder is empty. I don't have a backup. Could this be related to the wifi issue? Am I screwed?
Finally got the wifi working. Took the white shell that covers the board off and cleaned the contact on the shell with a q-tip and isopropyl, but it looked kinda scuzzy so I scratched it a bit to expose bare metal again. Then I went to the board side and pulled up on the tiny piece of metal that springs to make contact, enough to bend it to a steeper angle for better contact. Wifi and BT working steady for over an hour now. Thought id share.

Heres a link with pics of the locations of the antennas
Edit:
though the wifi worked briefly after this, it stopped working shortly afterwards... back to square one...
Hi everyone, I am having few issues with my HTC 10. I bought this from HTC pre-order it from them. It was working fine for 2 weeks but now its just getting to be a pain for the past 2 weeks. I dont have a lot of third part apps installed on the phone hard 4-5 and are basic apps. Other than that I my usage is normal. I have checked everything and there is nothing that is spiking the processor or memory.
1: The phone lags a lot while scrolling or opening the main apps. I will press somewhere and it literally takes 2 seconds for it to open or execute it.
2: I am a normal user and only use the data services when needed. The screen brightness is between 40-50 % but battery does not even last a day. Again I have nothing on my phone that would be using a lot of battery.
3: My phone forget to connect to saved network using Wi-fi I mostly have to manually go to setting and chose the device to connect to it.
Using the power saving mode is the same and at times is even worse. The performance is just pissing me on this phone.
Any one with any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

I did the factory reset and still the wi-fi issue. I will test it out for few days and see if the remaining two issues return.
that wifi issue happens only on your home wifi or other wifi to ? Seems your home router configurations, try on another networks.

It was on my home network. Its been better now but I was having an issue with mobile data too. If I turned it off and then tried to turn mobile data on again it won't turn on. I would have to choose airplane mode and then turn that off and then turn on data to make it work.
The issue stopped after the factory reset. But I had that again. Originally the issues started after two weeks of use. Still have few days to go and hoping that it works fine, cause if does not that's going to piss me a lot as I don't have anything on my phone that should give me performance issues.
I had M8 before this and I loved that phone, in fact I love HTC in general it's just the thing about this amount of money+such hardware specs= awesome performance.
you on factory rom right or any custom rom ? if it's factory rom and if you are still experiencing all that issues after a factory reset, well or you doing something wrong or you need to return your phone because it's not right.
