[Q] disable apps - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Just got my SGSIII, and i was wondering about disabling some or all of the AT&T bloatware. Does anyone know which apps i can safely disable, without sacrificing phone performance? Thanks in advance.

Yea you can use titanium backup or try autostarts that also works good for disabling apps, both of which need root
Oh yea!? Thems fightin words....

Like thatsupnow said you can use titanium backup and freeze or uninstall the apps you dont want or you can use system tuner and disable unwanted apps from start up. You need root for both methods
Alternatively if you dont want to root you can also go into settings-app manager and i think you have the option of disabling SOME apps

Help with Titanium Backup Pro

Hello friends!
I have a SGSL XXKPH Rooted & Deodexed. I am using Titanium Backup Pro for managing my softwares and backup. Problem is that whenever I try to remove any stock software through Titanium Backup Pro, it does remove the software but my phone automatically restarts after that. This wasnt happening before I Deodexed my phone. I ever tried other softwares like Nitrality but the same problem persists.
Can you please help me with this problem? I dont think the phone should restart automatically if I remove a stock software. Is this normal after Dedoxing or is there a problem?
Thank you.

I am using paid Titanium backup pro and have used the free version also. I can confirm that removing any system apps DOES NOT restart the phone. Better remove Titanium itself, reboot and reinstall from market so as to have latest version.
Do as above said
And also check whether you have activated usb debugging mode?

What busybox version you got?
what app you trying to remove?
And have you tried mybackup?
Sent from my gt-I9003 with A.I. Type
I have busybox 1.18.4
No I haven't tried mybackup.
I tried removing stock calculator, stock ebook reader etc...
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA Premium App
Titanium backup installed his own busybox so it has not to depend upon device busybox.
I have once this problem when i flashed skin beta cf root kernel.
But it's long time ago with beta kernel testing.
Please tell how you root your device.

try to use
1. SGS tools: go to "Cleanup System App". It can make backup of removed applications
2. nitrality: go to "Applications" and uncheck unneeded applications
Both of them are free and can be found at the market
Either use TB to convert app to user app then delete, or, easier if you use sgs chlorine to delete lots of apps at the same time

I change my ROM a lot and use TB Pro. With some ROM`s after doing a backup or restore my phone restarts.

[Q] Best System App Remover?

Hey guys.
Picked up a XP from Verizon yesterday, rooted it, and I'm getting things set up for myself now. My question is this: what's the best app for removing system/stock apps that can also easily restore them if desired? I used SDX Stock App Remover on my Epic 4g, but I know better than to dive in with a new device without investigating first.
I know TB can remove stock apps, but in my past experience, it can't always restore them, which I'd like the option to do in case I want to play Bruce Lee's Flying Circus again for some crazy reason.
Thanks in advance guys
If you backup the system app, TB can restore it too. Works perfectly if you're using the same rom that you backed them up from
You! Your the best system app remover. just use a root enabled file manager. After you delete an app from /system/ remeber to wipe the dalvik cache, this will remove unwanted .dex files.

Assuming that you are using windows
Use debloater, titanium backup or root uninstaller from market.
Ofcause u need root to remove system apps or just freeze them, same result
U don't need all 3.one will do
Here is the best solution:

[Q] System app removal

Which system apps can be safely removed or "frozen"? I would like to get rid of some system apps but I am unsure which could cause me problems. I am actually surprised by how little bloatware is on this phone.....
which version r u using?

If you are rooted, use the FreeGee bootloader unlock tool, as it disables the security feature related to system apps. You are then free to remove any and/ or all apps from the device.
Personally, I just use Titanium Backup pro and freeze anything I want, no issues.
Im using version 10h. Does freegee work with 10h? Im using titanium and was planning to either freeze or remove with it.

Check in the FreeGee thread, I don't know. But, i do know that if you remove system apps without being FreeGee unlocked (rooted, using Titanium only), you potentially may run into security bootloop problems.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "stock" debloated rom right now for the S4, all of them have some customization.
If you are looking for a really excellent rom to flash "Wicked v3" check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265998
It is not stock but it has all the carrier and samsung bloatware removed and has many outstanding features.
Good luck!
So what firmware will I have if I will buy s4 directly from samsung store etc. That's something what I am looking for my s4.

get titanium backup to remove any carrier bloatware apps, if you already have root then get a SU manager app and download goomanager and get TWRP recovery on your phone, after that you can download a stock.qmg to have the international i9500 boot up screen without the tmobile in it. that's as stock as I think you can get.

Titanium Backup no longer deletes all the bloatware system apps, it used be able to do remove
a lot of it before the S4 hit the scene. All Titanium can do now is simply "freeze" the system apps.
There are only perhaps 2-3 system apps at most which it can delete now, hopefully Titanium will
get updated so it will have the ability again to really do a good job getting rid of the bloatware.

Oh, I don't really use that to delete bloatware, I usually use root explorer and just delete the apps I just wanted to give him a easy workaround, you can also get an app called no more bloat o something like that, I works wonders.

Yes, root explorer can delete any files.
That's about the only way we can remove/delete bloatware now.
Even the "System App Remover" and the "Root Uninstaller" app
from the play store no longer removes/uninstall bloatware.
Those apps also need to be upgraded so they can delete bloatware in the S4.
OP just make sure that instead of deleting the apps with root explorer you 'move' them to a folder in your sd card, that way if you mess anything up you can always move the apps back where they belong. Best of luck.

??? No problems with TB whatsoever and i've been using it on the S4 since the beginning a month ago.
It deletes everything i want to, even without having a backup of the item.
