I thought one of the features of JB was after you take a pic you could swipe and go to the picture you just took. I've only seen this on aokp. Is there any stock JB cameras that do this?
as far as i'm aware, AOKP/CM10 USE stock camera's.... which is why they have that function. The TouchWiz camera for JellyBean apparently does not have that feature.
I've bounced back and forth testing AOKP and CM10 on my s3. Both ROMS have the stock Jelly Bean camera whereas Touchwiz does not.
You checked "Yes this is a question"
Guess where it belongs?

1 JB based apps have jb camera's
2. I used to used a JB Camera app that works just like the real Jellybean camera

the virtuous infinity with sense 4full makes very good..
i remember that even the MIUI was great
however, you do not see a big difference.
You'll get the best camera quality with Sense ROMs (both GB & ICS). The next option would be CyanogenMod 7.2.0. The camera will never work as good for AOSP ICS and JB ROMs because the phone wasn't meant to run them by design, in the sense that the available drivers and libraries aren't made for AOSP. They have to be hacked, modified and backported from GB and the resulting quality of photos and video, while decent, is not as good as that with Sense ROMs.
The camera in Jellytime 8.0 works great for me. I have had a few problems with previous builds but the new one works great.
It's a tie between MIUI camera and HTC Sense. If you can get a sense camera, keep it. If you can't (like on a non sense ROM), go with one of the MIUI cameras. I recommend #17 (google it). I think they're pretty close in quality and usefulness.
The MIUI camera doesn't run on certain ICS ROMs, to make it work, you need to go to camera settings and change the size in pixels of the picture. Every time you leave the camera, and get back, you need to change the pixel size (change from 8mp to 6, then back for best size).
In JB go to settings and disable HW overlays, or else you'll get messed up lines of color running through the screen.
In GB you should be completely fine.
Hi,
Anyone have an update?
Some new ROMs, stable and with a good camera?
In some jelly time I have found some bugs or problems with autofocus..
Thank you for your reply..

Hi guys, im going on a trip and need a rom with a fast camera. By fast camera i mean a camera.that doesnt take much time to take a photo ( i believe focussing is what takes long on jb).Im currently on jelly bean alpha 2 and i dont think alpha 3's camera is much better (please correct me if I'm wrong). I have been on cm 9 beta 3, i dont remember the camera though. Is it worth it to go back to 2.3.6 gb with value pack? Could anybody recommend me a good 2.3.6 (flashable, no ODIN) rom with value pack? Or an ics/jb if the camera has the same speed.

No rom has a different cam quality than another. But the gingerbread roms have a full GB camera with all it's features, ICS roms have a semi full camera but it works as good as the GB. The JB roms have a camera without all the features and a few bugs.
I prefer ICS roms as they are faster and smoother than GB roms. And the JB Roms are the fastest and smoothest but with a half bad camera.

Thanks for responding! I am aware of the fact that quality doesn't differ between gb, ics or jb. What i AM looking for is a camera that takes pictures fast. (focussing takes lots of time on jb...

So after upgrading my stock GNex to 4.2 I found that the performance was lacking, it felt choppy and slow at times, I though these issues would be fixed by a different ROM/Kernel and although it got a bit better I still don't have the amazing performance on my phone that 4.1 gave me.
I have decided to go back to 4.1.2 but I do like some of the features that 4.2 provided me and I want to ask you guys if there is a way (also it would be great if you could direct me to it if there is) to have these features on 4.1.2, the ones I'm more interested in are the following:
Photo Sphere camera
Gesture Typing
Quick Settings Menu
The first two especially.
Also any advise of a 4.1.2 ROM I should try? I was thinking in going stock but if you guys know of a great performance/battery life ROM/Kernel out there I would appreciate suggestions. I started getting into ROMs/Kernels, etc, until 4.2 hit so I don't know much about 4.1 ROMs.
Thanks.

I think other than the quick settings mod, rest you can get in 4.1.2 as well. Look over the forums, try a bit tweaking, you might come up with it. the Photosphere camera just has a few additional libraries and a changed Gallery app. I can't recall, but i think i saw a flashable zip for that.
as far as Gesture is concerned, yu'll have to change a keyboard. Look for "swift key".
Try BlackBean AOKP for 4.1.2. It was awesome, but before that, I would suggest yu give a try to Liquid Smooth 4.2.1. yu might change yur mind.
Any way to get the CRT on and off effect on JB 4.1.2 AOKP?
That has been asked a thousand times. They just put it on a couple 4.2 roms for this phone so I don't get it either why no 4.1.2 rom has it. I would like it myself. You have to decompile the framework and service jars most of the time but you can do it yourself. I want to move up to 4.2 but I am sticking with 4.1.2 until I see real advantages. I tried both the 4.2 roms the other day and both have issues. Especially blurry video even when it's not recording just blurry from the get go. Features missing etc. But you might like it since they have crt effect on 4.2 now for this device.

Hey all. I have a ICS (4.04) Galaxy S 3 for ATT. Its been working for me great, but since i removed the bloatware like gallery and s-memo things like the copy/cut/paste and the little icon that takes to to your gallery in the camera app functions wont work.
What GSIII roms would you recommend? A couple things i would like is if the battery life is the same or better than stock roms and the home screens had a landscape mode as well as portrait. (And hopefully they work in nova launcher as well).
When i had my GS1 i used the AOKP rom and i loved that. It just didn't have the homescreen portrait/landscape thing. Thanks for your help!
Edit: Also, is ICS>JB or are there pros and cons on both sides?
Different people, different preferences.
therefore, look, read, and test them out yourself.

If you like aosp then flash task's 650 rom. Pacman and rootbox are pretty good too. I would update to stock jb before you do anything. You will find it much better than ics.

I have to agree that JB is better than ICS just seems smoother and more polished to me. As far as the roms go i am useing the official CM 10.1 and love it. But you reall need to look and test a couple of the diffrent ones to find what suits you best.
These threads won't last long.
Recommended way:
1. Read OP for ROM features.
2. Check for ROM threads on top n see atleast a few latest pages for any issues or thanks. These are best indicators of how satisfied people are.
3. I'm on JB and this is quite stable. So I can say there are some very good JB ROMs out there.
